Story
Gunner is a 3-month-old Heeler mix. He's very sweet & loves to cuddle! Since heelers are herding dogs he'll need plenty of exercise and like all pups, ongoing training. He LOVES outdoors so housebreaking should be a snap! He's dewormed & utd on age-appropriate vaccines. According to the weight calculator, he'll be about a 50lb adult. He's being fostered with dogs of all sizes as well as cats & is doing well. He'll do great with any child who has respectful dog manners.DATCP#483538

Story
Ok, everyone, I need your help!🙌 I'm 👑Charles III👑, a 2+ year old, 55 lb guy who is just about perfect in every way but one - I'm just not a fan of strangers!! But read on, and I'll tell you why you shouldn't pass me by👀I'm completely house trained, crate trained but trusted loose while my people are away, I love walks (an old back leg injury does not slow me down) once I get comfortable with you, although you'll have to remind me not to bark at passersby, and well behaved on car rides. I only chew on my dog toys (hard toys only please!), have no issues sharing toys, food and treats with humans and doggy friends. And I LOVE my dog friends!! I'm very good at reading what those friends are like and adjusting my play style to what works best for them. I always come running when called, am 100% devoted to my family, and will do anything to please them.So - about this stranger thing. I have a hard time trusting new people at first. I bark and growl and try to scare them away! I find one person right away and bond to them quickly, then need more time to adjust to others in the home. But if you're patient and have a few days (note: this can take up to a week plus!), I'll warm up to you and lavish all my love on you! And I remember every person I've let into my circle - I saw a volunteer I met weeks ago, and treated her like a long lost bestie. Besides needing patience, I also ➡️NEED⬅️ a confident doggy playmate to take the lead that will show me new people are okay. When I see my dog friend getting affection, my craving for love will be overcome and soon I'll be right there asking for pets! Because of my herding tendencies, dog-savvy kids over 10 are best. And I recently visited a house with a cat who's used to dogs, she let me know she wasn't interested and I listened. My foster mom says I'm a 🪄Goldilocks🪄 kind of guy, I need a home that's *just right*. But if you think that's you, get your application in so we can start our happily everDATCP# 483538

Story
Meet Princess Leia - the 1.5-year-old, 25lb little fox with a heart of gold. Coming from a hoarding situation where she never felt safe or truly cared for, Leia has already overcome so much. Now, it's her time to shine, to be spoiled, & to experience the warmth of a loving home.In her foster home, Leia was reserved at first, but came out of her shell very quickly. Leia is the epitome of "chill" & loves to lounge for the majority of the day. Her favorite place to sleep is on top of all of the couch pillows. She has blossomed into a playful pup, eager to explore & play chase with her foster sibs. When she is excited, she wiggles her butt like there is no tomorrow! She is currently being fostered with both dogs & cats & enjoys everyone! Leia has not met many children, so kids will be determined on a case-by-case basis.Leia enjoys meeting new people but needs to move at her own pace. Finding her forever home means finding a family who will be patient & gentle, & who will offer her the time & space she needs to grow & flourish. For the lucky soul who opens their heart to Leia, the reward is immeasurable – a lifetime of love, sweetness, & the quiet resilience of a little fox who has finally found her place to call home.DATCP# 483538

Check out our Facebook page and YouTube channel for more pictures & videos of our adoptable dogs!Updated: 3/12/2024 Dog Name: Floyd Sex: Male Estimated Breed Mix: Aussie Mix Approximate Age: 1 year old Approximate Weight: 40-45 lbs. Description: Floyd is a playful boy with a heart of gold! He plays well with all dogs and loves everyone he meets! He has the cutest fluffy ears and big smile! You will fall in love when you meet him!  He's picking up on potty training extremely fast! He learned to sit, lay down and come already and he takes treats gently. At first he was a little hesitant of full staircases, but he's getting better with those too! He walks fairly well on a leash, we have no doubt he will walk great on a leash with some more training. Floyd will cry for 10 minutes after he's put in the crate for the evening, but then he sleeps through the night. He would happily snuggle his humans all day if you'd let him!  Adoption Fee: $500.00We are a Wisconsin state licensed dog rescue -WI# 402433   ***We do not have a central adoption center at this time. All our dogs are in private foster homes within WI. At this time we only place our dogs in areas of WI. The breed of our dogs is our best guess with the help of our veterinarians. Our Weight Classes are as follows: 0- 25lbs - Small 26- 45lbs - Medium 46-89 - Large 90+ X-large If you are adopting an adult dog, which we consider 6 months of age or older, your adoption fee includes the following: Spay/Neuter, Rabies and Distemper shots, dewormed, flea & tick preventative, heartworm tested and microchipped. If you are adopting a dog younger than 6 months of age, the dog will be up to date on the shots as per the dogs age. The dog will be dewormed, flea/tick preventative and microchipped. We only spay/neuter our dogs by 6 months of age. If you decide to adopt a younger dog than 6 months of age, they will need to be spayed/neutered at one of our preferred clinics. This will be determined by your contract along with the month they should have their surgery. This is included in your adoption fee. Once you are approved with our rescue, you can meet any one of our dogs within the fosters home. If you are interested in the dog you met, you can take the dog home under our mandatory foster to adopt program. You receive 5 days to see if the dog is the right fit for your home. If it is, we will conduct the home visit and finalize adoption. If it is not, it is returned to the foster. We are happy to find you another dog that meets your needs in your home. If a dog is listed as PENDING, a family has met the dog and planning on adopting the dog after the home visit has been conducted. We always suggest sending in an application for a dog because there are times where the dogs are given back to us under the foster to adopt program. There are many reasons dogs are returned but normally it just was not the right fit for all. Please go to WWW.TAILWAGGERS911.COM under HOW TO ADOPT . We have an online application that is very easy to fill out. April 22, 2024, 11:11 pm

Story
June is here to brighten your days with her lovable charm and unwavering loyalty! Rescued from a barn in Central Wisconsin, June's journey has transformed her into the perfect blend of Cattle Dog and Australian Shepherd goodness. Despite humble beginnings, June radiates intelligence, sweetness, and an eagerness to please. Food is her love language, making training a breeze. Whether it's mastering commands or perfecting her potty routine, June's quick wit and natural recall shine through. June's heart belongs with her people, snuggling by your feet and reveling in belly rubs. She's a social butterfly, making friends with everyone she meets - humans, dogs, and even cats! FEE INCLUDES: Adopting an adult dog (6 months or older) includes spaying/neutering, vaccinations, deworming, flea & tick prevention, heartworm testing, and microchipping. For dogs under 6 months, they receive age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, flea/tick prevention, and microchipping. All dogs are spayed/neutered by 6 months, covered within the adoption fee. The procedure must be done at one of our partner clinics. To begin the adoption process, please submit an application on our website: www.hbwi.org/adopt. Once approved, you'll have the opportunity to meet our available dogs. Following the meeting, you can initiate a 5-day Adoption Trial, allowing you to take the dog home. This trial period is designed to ensure the dog is a match for you and aligns with your lifestyle. After the 5-day trial, if all goes well, the adoption will be finalized. Additionally, we require a home visit once the dog is settled in its new home to ensure a smooth transition for both the dog and the adopter.
