Story
MOOSE loves toys. Loves loves love. He loves toys more than food, and for a basset hound/beagle-type mixed breed boy, that's saying something! MOOSE is a handsome young boy with absolutely stunning eyes. He is a sweet guy who simply loves everyone he meets. He's right around 1 year old and fully grown at 38 pounds. Moose has a big, fun personality best suited to a home where he'll get lots of attention and exercise. Moose needs a home with a physically fenced yard to keep him from following his nose into trouble. He's dog friendly and would be fine with a dog sibling his size or larger. If you would like to meet Moose, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. You can meet Jeromeo at our weekly adoption event, Saturday noon-2 at PetSmart Eastgate. All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoption fee covers the dog’s veterinary care, including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip, deworming, flea and tick prevention, heartworm prevention and any other needed veterinary care. A deposit is required to take a dog home for a trial period. The deposit will be applied to the dog’s final adoption fee. Tuffy is doing great with her treatment and the hope is she will be ready for adoption early July. Thank you for your continued support!   Feb 16 update: Tuffy is currently in a foster home close to our Columbus vet. She will still continue HW treatment under our care until her vetting is complete. We would consider her for adoption only under the circumstances that she is adopted close to our vet and in a home ideal for recovery. Otherwise she will not he made available for several months until she is completely healthy. ****** Sweet Tuffy is a special needs girl at the moment, and needs a CALM and QUIET home! She is currently at our vet in Columbus and needs a foster and/or forever home! We are willing to so a foster to adopt on Tuff due to her Heartworm treatment plan. Tuff came to OBHR in bad shape. Dehydrated, diarrhea, bad teeth and ears, but as soon as she started to perk up we found out she was heartworm positive.  Her HW treatment has begun and she is in need of a calm place to live while she is on the road to recovery. Because she will need to be seen by our vet in Columbus we need someone who will be able to bring her back to our vet to continue her treatments every several weeks at our cost. Once her HW treatments are passed and she is given the green light we will also do her dental and spay. Her next time needing to come back to our vet will be March 31.  Tuff is a sweet senior girl who needs a second chance at life. She is good with other dogs and kids, older kids only please due to her needing to be calm and quiet, but she is NOT good with cats or small animals.  If you can give Tuff a safe quiet place to recoup or to live out her life please apply at ohiobassetresuce.com and when approved email us at ohbassetrescue@yahoo.com. Her adoption fee is $200. (much less than her vet bills!)Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 2, 2024, 1:16 pm

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact Sally (Ohbassetrescue@yahoo.com), 937-321-6356 for more information about this pet.Wags came to OBHR from a local shelter who took in about 50 dogs and other animals from a hoarding situation. He is a senior boy, a little hard to determine his age because his teeth are so ground down, but he is at the very least 10 years old. He is just a sweet old man that needs a retirement home for his last few years of life and somebody to treat him like he is a beloved pet. Wags has gotten the all clear from our vet including a dental and several teeth pulled, neuter, heartworm check and up-to-date on all shots! Now he just needs a bed of his own and a family of his own! He is currently being fostered near Cincinnati. if you are interested in adopting this poor baby please shoot us an email and if you have not already fill out the application on our website! You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact Sally (Ohbassetrescue@yahoo.com), 937-321-6356 for more information about this pet.We have Max available for adoption! Max came in on Saturday with his sister Maggie, and after being in Foster it has been determined the best thing to do is to not adopt the two dogs out together. They do not show any signs of being bonded especially when Maggie spent two days at the emergency vet.  Max is a very sweet boy! He loves to play and absolutely loves toys, however he needs to learn how to share his toys. Max and Maggie were both kept as outdoor dogs together so they did not learn how to have manners when it comes to playing and sharing because they did not have much before they came to OBHR! He quickly learned the dog door at his foster home, but has had a few incidents with marking so housebreaking will be one of the things Max needs to learn however he is a quick learner!  Max is basically a three-year-old puppy so he would do best in a home that is familiar with the Basset hound stubbornness and nature. He would do best in a home where someone is home frequently to teach him how to be a good boy! And he will learn, he has just never been an indoor pet before! He will need a fenced in yard. Also older kids only please!  Max's adoption fee is $250 and he is currently being fostered near Cleveland. If you are interested in Max please visit our website and fill out the online application. If you are already approved or once your application is approved please email us!
