Story
Pita is a lovable 4-year-old Basset Hound/Jack Russell mix weighing about 30 lbs—and she’s got a heart as big as her sweet personality. This affectionate girl adores attention and would happily volunteer as your lap dog if given the chance. Pita loves being with her people and wants to go wherever you go. She’s a very good girl who comes when called, is fully housebroken, and already has all the important boxes checked: spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. She also enjoys playing with toys and will surprise you with the occasional case of zoomies that shows off her fun, playful side. With her loyal nature, cuddly spirit, and just the right amount of silliness, Pita would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a dog that truly wants to be part of everyday life.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact Sally (Ohbassetrescue@yahoo.com) for more information about this pet.Meet Spot! Spot is a 2 and a half year old beagle basset mix hoping Santa brings him a new home for the holidays! He is about 26 pounds and up to date on shots and neutered. Spot is your typical beagle basset who is high energy and has a tendency to grab his own treats off the counters! He is house trained and crate trained and sleeps in his crate at night. He was relinquished to OBHR because he was one of 4 high energy dogs in the house and it was too much to handle. Basically because he is a hound dog! So if you are familiar with hounds he will fit right into your family! He will need a home with a fenced in yard and someone who can keep him active and exercised! He loves to play with his toys and snuggle, go for hikes and loves ice cubes and baby carrots! His adoption fee is $300 and he is currently located in Columbus.  if interested please apply at ohiobassetrescue.com and once approved email us at ohbassetrescue@yahoo.com. We adopt only to Ohio and states that border Ohio. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 30, 2025, 10:59 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact Sally (Ohbassetrescue@yahoo.com) for more information about this pet.Meet Daisy! She is a 4.5 year old basset looking for a new home! She is up to date, spayed and chipped and will need a home with a fenced in yard! We adopted to Ohio and states that immediately border. Our girl Daisy is a lover of all things fun! She is enjoying not having to raise her pups anymore and getting to be a puppy herself again She can never have too many toys to chose from, she will play with them all. If it's time to go outside, Daisy will make sure that everyone has fun. She can't always hear you talking to her when her sniffer has found a good smell outside but you can't take it personally because once she realizes that you are talking to her, Daisy will come over to you with great enthusiasm to hear what you have to say! Daisy does have whip worms and is on meds and is scheduled to go to a foster home Monday after the meds have cleared. (Jan 19th). She can be adopted prior only if it is to a home with no other dogs due to her worms. She is and will be located in Columbus. Per her former owner she is house trained and good with kids, dogs and cats. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact Sally (Ohbassetrescue@yahoo.com) for more information about this pet.We are looking for any current approved adopters looking for a senior boy who has no other dogs! Applications will be accepted but hoping to place sweet Tucker in a new home asap. Tucker is 8yo and has been living with other dogs and a cat but has turned into a grumpy old man who doesn’t like any other dogs being in his space. He’s ok going around other dogs, it’s his living space that is the issue. He has been checked for medical issues for his grumpiness but nothing. For the the well being of all the pets we are trying to find him a better placement. He does not require a fenced yard. Tucker is currently about a half hour from Dayton  OH. Email us at ohbassetrescue@yahoo.com if you are approved in the last 6mo with NO OTHER DOGS. WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org 🌟🐾 Meet Gypsy — Short Legs, Big Heart, Still Waiting 💛🐾 Gypsy has been waiting… and waiting… and waiting. And honestly? She’s waited far too long for a girl this special. At 2 years old and 28 pounds, Gypsy is a delightful blend of Cattle Dog smarts and Basset Hound charm — think low-rider body, big-dog energy, and a personality that could light up a room. She’s basically the off-road model of a best friend: compact, sturdy, and always ready for an adventure. Gypsy LOVES her walks and is getting better and better on leash every day. She’s happiest when she’s outside, exploring the yard, supervising chores, or keeping an eye out for squirrels (her self-appointed job, and she takes it very seriously). When playtime winds down, she’s just as content following her favorite human around like a loyal little shadow. She’s playful, affectionate, and full of goofy charm. Toys are fun. Shoelaces are very intriguing. And her signature low-rider zoomies? Absolutely legendary. 🐾 Gypsy’s Highlights: ✅ 2 years old, 28 lbs ✅ Dog-friendly ✅ House & crate trained ✅ Loves walks and outdoor time ✅ Sweet, silly, and full of personality ✅ Equal parts sass, snuggles, and sunshine While Gypsy does great with other dogs, cats are an unknown — mostly because Gypsy believes squirrels are public enemy #1 — so she may prefer a home without feline roommates. What Gypsy really wants, though, isn’t much. She wants a family who will love her quirks, laugh at her goofy legs, and finally give her the forever home she’s been patiently waiting for. She’s ready to be someone’s hiking buddy, couch companion, and daily dose of happiness. 💛 Gypsy has so much love to give — she just needs someone to give her a chance. Short legs. Big heart. Endless loyalty. ✨ Apply today at haydudeequine.org and let Gypsy finally stop waiting and start living the life she deserves. 🐾💛

Story
LYLA is an adorable little short stack looking for a home. She appears to be a Bagel -- a Basset Hound/Beagle mix. She's a friendly little medium-energy girl, about 2 years old and fully grown at 30 pounds. She loves attention and is very food motivated. She's dog friendly and best suited to a home with a physically-fenced yard to keep her from following her nose into trouble. We're pretty sure she can small a snack from 3 blocks away. If you'd like to meet Lyla, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. You can meet Lyla at our weekly adoption event, Saturday 11:30-1:30 at PetSmart Eastgate. Our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoptable dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested, dewormed and current on flea and tick and heartworm prevention.
