Story
Meet Emeril! If comfort food came in puppy form, it would be Emeril. This 3.5-month-old Basset Hound/Beagle mix weighs about 25 pounds and is equal parts cuddle bug and playmate. With his soulful eyes, floppy ears, and easygoing personality, Emeril has already mastered the art of winning hearts. Emeril can be a little more reserved when meeting new people or exploring new situations, but once he knows he's safe, his affectionate side shines through. He loves cuddling up with his humans, enjoys a good toy collection, and is always happy to join in some puppy playtime. His mix of Basset Hound and Beagle means he'll likely grow into a loyal family companion with a curious nose and a gentle disposition. Whether he's investigating the backyard or snuggling for cuddles after a busy day, Emeril is happiest when he's with people. Like any young puppy, Emeril is still learning the ropes. He isn't fully potty trained yet but is making great progress with pee pads and developing good habits every day. Looking for a puppy who's equal parts sweet, snuggly, and playful? Emeril is ready to bring a little extra flavor to your family. Emeril is fostered in the Cincinnati area. His adoption fee is $400.00. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Meet Denali (aka Roger, Roger Dodger, Roger Ramjet)! If you’re looking for a loyal sidekick, adventure buddy, and oversized lap dog, Denali may just be your perfect match. At approximately 7 months old, Denali is already showing off his fun-loving personality and charming quirks. We believe he’s a mix of Basset Hound and a larger working breed such as an Anatolian Shepherd, Black Mouth Cur, or similar breed. The result is a handsome low-rider with a big personality, a bigger heart, and an expected adult weight of around 45-50 pounds. Denali loves to play fetch, chase squeaky toys, run around the yard, and be involved in whatever his people are doing. More than anything, he loves his humans and wants to be close to them. If he had his way, he’d spend his days following you from room to room and his evenings curled up beside you on the couch. Denali gets along with dogs and children, but because of his past, he can occasionally be fear-reactive and may stand his ground if challenged by another dog. The good news is that he responds well to correction, is eager to please, and has already made tremendous progress in a very short period of time. We fully expect his confidence to continue growing as he settles into a stable, loving home. While Denali enjoys canine companionship, he would do best with mellow, respectful dog friends. Any resident dogs should be easygoing, and his adopter should be comfortable managing introductions and continuing his positive training. He is not a difficult dog, just a dog who needs a thoughtful leader to help him succeed. Denali's ideal home would be with someone who appreciates a devoted best friend and can provide a calm, structured environment. In return, he’ll offer endless loyalty, affection, and entertainment. He would be especially well-suited for someone familiar with larger working breeds such as Anatolian Shepherds, German Shepherds, Rottweilers, Black Mouth Curs, or similar breeds. Experience isn’t required because Denali is “problematic”, it’s simply because understanding how these intelligent, loyal dogs think will help him reach his full potential. Denali has come incredibly far in a short amount of time and continues to show us what a wonderful companion he can be. With patience, consistency, and love, he’s going to make someone an amazing best friend for years to come. Denali is currently being fostered in the Cincinnati, OH area. His adoption fee is $275.00. Story
Meet Gordon! Some puppies wait to be invited to the party. Gordon is the party. This outgoing 3.5-month-old, 20-pound pup is packed with confidence, curiosity, and enough charm to make new friends wherever he goes. Gordon approaches life with enthusiasm, whether he's investigating a new toy, exploring a new room, or introducing himself to every person he meets. His favorite hobbies include giving kisses, showing off his belly for rubs, and making sure nobody stays a stranger for very long. Gordon is incredibly social and loves being part of whatever is happening around him. With his bold personality and friendly nature, Gordon would make a fantastic companion for an active family looking for a puppy who's always ready for the next adventure. He's the type of dog who will happily greet guests at the door, accompany you on errands, and then flop over dramatically for attention when the day is done. Gordon is still learning all the important puppy skills. He isn't fully potty trained yet, but he's doing well with pee pads and is eager to learn. If your home is missing a little laughter, a lot of personality, and an endless supply of puppy kisses, Gordon is ready to help fix that problem. Gordon is fostered in the Cincinnati area. His adoption fee is $400.00. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Gretel, a soulful Basset mix born on February 20, 2020. At six years old, she has perfected the art of being a relaxed, well-mannered house companion. Gretel is a professional lounger who is fully potty trained and knows exactly how to behave indoors. While she was adopted as a puppy, she recently returned to us after a misunderstanding with a small child. Because of this, Gretel is looking for an adult-only home where she can be the center of your world. She’s a "people person" who prefers to be your one-and-only pet—no other dogs needed when she has you! If you’re looking for a loyal, low-maintenance best friend to keep your sofa warm, Gretel is your girl.
