Story
Captain is an adorable, healthy younger senior — a beagle/shepherd mix, around 9 or 10 years old — looking for a long-term foster or forever home. While he’s lived peacefully with other dogs before, he’s not keen on sharing his person, so we’re seeking a dog-free home. Cats, however, are welcome! He’s had feline friends in the past and gets along well with them. LIFESTYLE: Calm, easygoing, fine being left alone. Fully housebroken. Doesn't get on furniture or chew things he shouldn't.LIKES:  Riding in a car, chasing a ball (and then you chasing him back), belly rubs, kids & babies of any kind, kitties, getting brushedLIKES NOT SO MUCH: Thunderstorms, baths (showers ok), hair dryers (towel drying a big YES), vacuum cleaners (even if off). A little too curious about fowl, so no chickens please. Just a good ol’ boy lookig for a peaceful home and somebody to love and love him back.  If you think you can be Captain's mate, let us know at dirtroaddoggiesrescue.org.To foster, complete a Foster App; to adopt, complete an Adoption App and specify Captain as your dog of interest.  ##2527573##

Story
Hi! I am Bacon!  Apply today on the MACS Friends website! I am a keen observer of my surroundings, watching everything and taking it all in—a true sign of my intelligence! I am just starting to learn that cuddles are wonderful, but my favorite pastimes are running in the yard, playing with toys, and pouncing on anything that moves. My most famous quirk? I am a drama queen! If you try to call me inside before I'm ready, I will theatrically "faint," dropping to the ground with a playful look. When you come to pick me up, I will go completely boneless and limp over your arms, expecting the full Princess Treatment as I am carried inside. It's a routine that proves I am ready for a life of luxury!  I am looking for patient adopters who understand that the deepest bonds take time to build.  I love playing with other dogs! My social dynamics are flexible: I can be dominant with submissive dogs, but submissive with more confident ones. I would thrive in a home with another dog that matches my energy level. Story
Coming Soon... Meet Bonbon. BonBon is a beagle that is estimated to be 5 years old. We recently rescued several beagles from a local animal control. Furkids is in the process of vetting all of these dogs. Once they are completely vetted, they will be available for meet and greets and then adoption. We are going to begin screening applications in advance, so that we can get them to their forever home as soon as possible! What we know... these babies are all very SWEET. Because they came from a hoarding case, they have had minimal human exposure and are now learning what it's like to be a normal dog. These dogs will require a fenced yard, as they can't walk on a leash. Due to the breed and how much they like to howl, we are not recommending apartments due to noise concerns. If you are interested in learning more about this baby or the others we rescued, please apply to furkids.org.
