While he’s lived peacefully with other dogs before, he’s not keen on sharing his person, so we’re seeking a dog-free home. Cats, however, are welcome! He’s had feline friends in the past and gets along well with them. LIFESTYLE: Calm, easygoing, fine being left alone. Fully housebroken. Doesn't get on furniture or chew things he shouldn't.LIKES: Riding in a car, chasing a ball (and then you chasing him back), belly rubs, kids & babies of any kind, kitties, getting brushedLIKES NOT SO MUCH: Thunderstorms, baths (showers ok), hair dryers (towel drying a big YES), vacuum cleaners (even if off). Elmo came to Hero in rough shape from the shelter - underweight, missing fur, double ear infections, etc. We fixed all that and now he is ready for a family of his very own. As a senior boy, Elmo would do best in a calmer, non chaotic. household. He prefers to be more of a couch potato than a hiker, if you know what i mean. Elmo is 100 % potty and crate trained, although his foster is no longer crating him, as he in non destructive and can be left home for hours uncrated. He is very respectful, and does not jump on you, nor on furniture. He seldom barks and waits patiently for his food or a treat. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption.
