Rosco is a sweet, affectionate little guy who loves nothing more than curling up for snuggles and staying close to his favorite person. He’s a true “shadow dog” who finds comfort in companionship and thrives in a calm, patient home. Rosco enjoys his walks—sometimes with a bit of excited pulling—and feels secure in a crate as long as he’s in the same room as his humans. He’s familiar with using a dog door and is well on his way with house training, especially when kept on a consistent routine. A secure yard would be a wonderful bonus for him to explore and relax in. Rosco has shown some resource guarding tendencies in his foster home. He has been fed in a separate area to prevent any disagreements with his canine siblings. His foster family feels that he might do best as the only dog in the home. Rosco is looking for a committed family who can offer structure, reassurance, and plenty of love. In return, he’ll be a devoted companion who sticks by your side and fills your home with warmth and love. NOTE: Dog may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).

If you’re looking for a loyal companion who loves being close to her people, Goldie might just be your perfect match. This sweet girl is incredibly people-friendly and thrives on attention. She’s happiest when she’s curled up beside you, soaking in chin and belly scratches—or better yet, snuggled up in bed for a cozy night’s sleep. Goldie truly loves her humans and forms strong bonds. Goldie has a medium energy level and knows some basic commands like “come,” “sit,” and “leave it.” She’s both house-trained and crate-trained, and will even go into her crate on her own to relax. Like many dogs, she may whine or bark a bit when first left alone, but she settles in with time. Goldie does have a playful, mischievous side—she can’t resist the occasional slipper or cushion if left unsupervised! She’s also working on her manners, like keeping all four paws on the ground when greeting people. Because of her enthusiasm and strength, Goldie would do best in a home without small children or unsteady adults. She can be a bit rough with other dogs and would benefit from either being the only pet or having a very carefully matched canine companion. Goldie is also a bit of an escape artist—she’s been known to test fences, dig, and even dash out an open door—so she’ll need a vigilant home committed to keeping her safe and secure. The good news? He was found loose in Indiana and spent several months in a shelter. He is fearful and shy when meeting new people. He will bond very strongly to a female and would thrive with someone who wants a loyal little shadow. Waylon is crate trained and also potty trained using a dog door. He gets along well with our 3 beagles and is a true couch potato at heart. He enjoys quietly playing with his toys and chewing on his Nyla bones before curling up beside "his person." Waylon would do best in a quiet, female-only household with a secure 6-foot wooded fenced yard. Another calm dog could help him continue building confidence. He needs someone patient and gentle who wants to continue his training and socialization building.
