Here are some of the great things about her: 1 - Gets along with everyone and everything she meets (kids, other dogs, cats, and even birds!) 2 - House trained (is currently on prednisone so does have more frequent potty needs) 3 - Doesn`t need to be crated 4 - Doesn`t require a lot of activity (must take it easy for a couple few more weeks since final heartworm treatment) 5 - Walks well on a leash 6 - Easy going, happy-go-lucky gal The only thing you need to watch out for is her stealing cat food! (if you have a cat) And she doesn`t love storms (or fireworks, we`re guessing) but if you`ll snuggle with her until the loud noises pass, or give her a sleepy pill, she`ll be just fine. Hi everybody…I’m Jenkins and I just arrived from the south. Settling in real nice at my foster home, but I would love a home to call my own forever! I have a good amount of energy coupled with the love of a good nap. So far I’ve been a dream…sleep all night, no accidents in the house, eating all my meals like a gentleman, and getting along superbly with the resident dog and cats! I’ve only barked at bunnies in the neighbor’s yard (I mean, who wouldn’t??) and my reflection in the fireplace glass.A yard at my forever home would be fantastic as I do love to sniff and explore! I am doing well on the leash, but I love time and space to check out my surroundings. I have been really good at listening to my fosters and I come when called.I absolutely adore people, but may be a bit much for young children…haven’t spent any time with them yet, so that’s not a deal breaker. I will need a family that has the time and energy to walk and play with me, and although I don’t love it, I do behave in the crate. Some loud or sudden noises scare me a little bit so I’m learning to be brave and enjoy my new life!If you’re interested, I would love to meet you at a show or, if you fill out a no obligation application, we can meet sooner! We adopted Lexi about 10 years ago. At that time it was unknown that Lexi is terrified of fireworks and storms. As she got older those fears are uncontrollable for us even with meds from her Vet. My husband and I are both retired. We are loosing sleep and nerves and as much as we love her can’t take care of her any longer. Lexi also has glaucoma and some allergies which those meds are expensive also and we can’t afford her any longer.

Emma's Family GOFUNDMEEmma's Family Facebook Page Emma is the cutest, spunkiest, nearly 100% Beagle Rock Star and Mamma in our rescue. She was saved from an over-crowded shelter in Central Illinois in February. We were surprised to find Miss Emma was pregnant and gave birth to 4 beautiful puppies on April 7th. Her nursing duties are over and now it's time for her to find her forever home. We did DNA test her and she is mostly Beagle with a hint of Chihuahua to give her a little sass. She is very friendly and her puppies taught her how to play with toys and now she loves to play fetch. Emma is about 27lbs but could stand to loose some of her baby weight. She would enjoy daily walks and play in the yard. She's brilliant and could also compete is dog sports like Barn Hunt, Nose Works and Fetch. Our vet wanted to give her body time to recover post puppies so we are looking for a Foster to Adopt family in the Chicago area as we'll need to get her spay done in August. We also require our adopters to have safe fenced in yards. Emma is super friendly with other dogs and it would be nice for her to have a playful companion or 2.
