Story
Siren is a calm, gentle, quiet girl who joined us from rural Kentucky. It appeared she had had very little human interaction when joining BAARK last year, but with time and patience, she has come out of her shell and has become a little more confident….but does have a ways to go. Siren is definitely a Mix Breed, possibly a Beagle-Heeler, with other breeds sprinkled in! She’s an estimated 32 lbs. born in January of 2021. This sweet girl enjoys the company of other dogs in her foster home, but prefers calm dogs. She can become startled by loud noises and quick movement but as her confident continues to grow, such things will likely not bother her. Siren is most likely to thrive in a quieter household consisting of adults. But older children, respectful of animals, would be good for Siren as well. She’d really enjoy the companionship of a calm, possibly older dog too. A secure fenced yard is also a plus. Siren is up to date on her vaccinations, heartworm negative and on year-round heartworm prevention, spayed and microchipped. She is believed to be housebroken as well. Story
Meet Lilly a sweet, gentle Beagle/Hound who joined us a few months ago, along with two of her sisters, all confiscated from a hoarding situation. She is just over a year old (est DOB 12-05-2023) and weighs about 28 lbs. In her foster home, Lilly is working on her social skills and, learning to become a dog! She enjoys playing with other dogs, and prefers to be with dogs, over people. Lilly may be ok with older children (over age 12) But she especially enjoys being with another dog. Lilly is looking to become part of a family that is patient, compassionate, and loving, and to living her best life in an environment that is calm and not overly hectic. Beagle/hound experience is a big plus. Because she enjoys being outside, a secure fenced (above ground) yard is very important to her. Lilly is not disposed to being an apartment dweller or living in a condo. She likes to bark and such environments would not be appropriate for her. Lilly is fully vetted, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and on year-round heartworm prevention, spayed and microchipped. Story
Max is about 5 y/o & has been in our household since January 2022 when I captured him & his sister as strays. Probably abandoned.He gets along great with kids,is very playful but not over energetic.He behaved well w/ 2 other dogs for 2 years but lately has been attacked by one dog.He may be apprehensive now with other dogs.He is a relentless hunter of mice, chipmunks & anything else that moves.A fenced in yard is highly recommended He will hunt all day & follow his nose if he's on a scent.He keeps my shop clear of all rodents.We fostered him when we rehabilitated him but decided to keep him 4 years ago because our entire family adores him.Sadly he has been in too many fights with our other dog & he is in constant danger.He does not like being alone, he is very affectionate, sweet & loves to cuddle.He'll make a great companion or support dog.He has possibly been abused & is a bit hand shy at first.It is extremely difficult for us to rehome him but it's for his safety & ours.
