Story
Timber is a happy-go-lucky little adventurer with a heart as big as his puppy smile. This adorable German Shepherd/Beagle mix is always ready for fun, whether he's exploring the yard, chasing toys, or soaking up attention from everyone he meets. With his expressive eyes, wagging white-tipped tail, and contagious enthusiasm, Timber has a way of making every day feel a little brighter. Timber loves to be where the action is. He's curious about the world around him, enjoys making new friends, and approaches life with confidence and excitement. Whether he's romping through the grass, investigating every new scent, or happily bouncing over to say hello, his playful personality shines through in everything he does. If you're looking for a puppy who will fill your home with laughter, love, and endless adventures, Timber is ready to steal your heart. Weight: Growing puppy (expected medium size) Energy Level: Moderate – playful, curious, and always ready for his next adventure. Personality & Temperament: Happy, affectionate, outgoing, playful, curious, and incredibly people-oriented, Timber loves attention and thrives on spending time with his family. He's confident without being overbearing and has the perfect balance of playful energy and sweet cuddles. His joyful personality, goofy grin, and loving nature make him the kind of puppy that quickly becomes everyone's best friend. Compatibility: One of the biggest advantages of adopting a puppy at this age is that they are still developing their personalities and learning about the world around them. With proper guidance, socialization, and positive experiences, they grow into well-adjusted companions who adapt beautifully to a variety of homes, people, children, and other animals. Puppies this young are compatible with dogs, cats, and children because they are still in a critical stage of development and are eager to learn. At this age, they're essentially a blank slate, making it the ideal time to introduce them to new experiences and help shape them into confident, well-rounded adults. The greater consideration is ensuring resident pets are accepting of a young puppy and that children understand how to gently and respectfully interact with one. As with any new pet, introductions should always be gradual and supervised to help everyone adjust safely and successfully. Training & Skills: Timber is still a young puppy and will need continued work with house manners, crate training, leash training, and basic obedience. As a German Shepherd/Beagle mix, he's expected to be intelligent, eager to learn, and motivated by praise, play, and positive reinforcement. With consistency, patience, and plenty of encouragement, he'll grow into a wonderful lifelong companion. Special Skills: Professional smile-maker, expert backyard explorer, and certified tail-wagging happiness ambassador. Timber has mastered the art of making people fall in love with him in just a few seconds and believes every new day is another opportunity for fun. Adoption Requirements (if applicable): Timber will need a family committed to providing continued training, socialization, daily exercise, and plenty of opportunities for enrichment as he grows. A securely fenced yard is preferred but not required, provided his family can meet his physical and mental exercise needs. Fun Facts / Quirks: Timber is famous for his adorable puppy grin, expressive little eyebrows, and constantly wagging white-tipped tail. He's naturally curious, loves exploring every inch of the yard, and has an uncanny ability to make people smile wherever he goes. Whether he's chasing toys, discovering something new, or simply soaking up belly rubs, Timber reminds everyone that life is meant to be enjoyed. If you're looking for a playful, affectionate companion who will grow into a loyal best friend, fill your home with laughter, and always be ready for the next adventure, Timber is waiting to meet you. 👉 Apply today: Adoption Application Can Be Found Under the Forms Tab at www.tailsoftheforgottenpaws.org

Story
Siren is a calm, gentle, quiet girl who joined us from rural Kentucky. It appeared she had had very little human interaction when joining BAARK last year, but with time and patience, she has come out of her shell and has become a little more confident….but does have a ways to go. Siren is definitely a Mix Breed, possibly a Beagle-Heeler, with other breeds sprinkled in! She’s an estimated 32 lbs. born in January of 2021. This sweet girl enjoys the company of other dogs in her foster home, but prefers calm dogs. She can become startled by loud noises and quick movement but as her confident continues to grow, such things will likely not bother her. Siren is most likely to thrive in a quieter household consisting of adults. But older children, respectful of animals, would be good for Siren as well. She’d really enjoy the companionship of a calm, possibly older dog too. A secure fenced yard is also a plus. Siren is up to date on her vaccinations, heartworm negative and on year-round heartworm prevention, spayed and microchipped. She is believed to be housebroken as well. If you are interested in adding Siren to your family, please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895. Note that BAARK is located in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago, and adopts local to our area.

Story
Meet Lilly a sweet, gentle Beagle/Hound who joined us a few months ago, along with two of her sisters, all confiscated from a hoarding situation. She is just over a year old (est DOB 12-05-2023) and weighs about 28 lbs. In her foster home, Lilly is working on her social skills and, learning to become a dog! She enjoys playing with other dogs, and prefers to be with dogs, over people. Lilly may be ok with older children (over age 12) But she especially enjoys being with another dog. Lilly is looking to become part of a family that is patient, compassionate, and loving, and to living her best life in an environment that is calm and not overly hectic. Beagle/hound experience is a big plus. Because she enjoys being outside, a secure fenced (above ground) yard is very important to her. Lilly is not disposed to being an apartment dweller or living in a condo. She likes to bark and such environments would not be appropriate for her. Lilly is fully vetted, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and on year-round heartworm prevention, spayed and microchipped. If you believe you are an ideal family for Lilly and would like to welcome her into your household, please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895 for an adoption application and any specific questions about Tabby. Note that BAARK is located in the NW suburbs of Chicago, and adopt only local at our area.
