Mr. Apollo here is an active and smart boy. He enjoys solving his doggie puzzles, having lick mats, laying in the sun, and playing with his toys. He is a very good boy in the car and enjoys walks. He is house trained and knows sit, stay, lay down, spin, and free. A new home for Apollo would be best with another dog since he loves playing. He is very sweet and gentle to young children. He also prefers nuzzling into a folded blanket (over a bed) so he can nest.

Meet Margo( we call her "Mama") This sweet old lady was found last year with a few other dogs on the side of the road toss out like trashed on a hot summer day. a kind family scooped them up and brought them to us . That night while with the family she went into labor and gave birth to one single little baby. She took great care of that baby an now its her turn to find a loving home in her golden years. We think she is 11, and that's just a guess no one knows since they were found on the side of the road. She has been spayed, she is housetrained and is heart wormed neg, but was use for breeding and all the dogs she was with still had milk and they were finished nursing a litter of pups and maybe were too old and were done with them. Here back knees are stiff, there nothing that will be done , she walks and runs just fine. She is quite unless she is hungry or needs to go potty. Hello, I am 57 and he was my emotional support pet. I want him to go to a new home with a loving family, he’s playful, attentive, sensitive. He sympathize with you when you’re sad or not feeling well or when people are upset and he’s very loyal. He needs to be able to release his energy. I would hope he would get out often to wander, explore when walked. He is trained on an electric collar which we never shocked him. We would just buzz him. He’s a very lovable dog. His bad habits are if you leave food unattended he will take it for himself. He gets anxious if he can’t find you, or yellin. he sometimes gets under foot when you’re doing things like cooking. If your eating he will burn a hole in your head hoping you’d share your food w/ him.. He likes toast bread w/butter. He likes most human cooked scraps w/a little of his kibble. Water? He tends to over drink chokes, then vomits. He’s a good dog some faults but not many, he’ll become your best friend.

Ginger is a kind loving Beagle. She is always down for a snuggle on the couch along with neck and ear scratches. She does come with some special needs and care. She has allergies and is on medication for that. She also has knee issues in her back legs thag need extra attention to long play time and limit the use of stairs. We limit her walks to 10 to 15 minutes.She is ok with older kids.She does enjoy a truck ride. She does well as long as she has her harness on.Her nick name is "Buggy" or "Buggy Bug" due to her wanting to eat random bugs in the yard or on walks.She's a kind loving dog that seeks attention through cuddles and loves to play with puzzle toys that has treats in them. If you have a window that gets sunlight you can catch her sun bathing in it. She's very treat motivated and will sit eagerly for one and give you her paw.We are unsure about cats as she's never been around one. She may be curious about that.We are looking to rehome her for financial reasons. She is very kind.

Siren is a calm, gentle, quiet girl who joined us from rural Kentucky. It appeared she had had very little human interaction when joining BAARK last year, but with time and patience, she has come out of her shell and has become a little more confident….but does have a ways to go. Siren is definitely a Mix Breed, possibly a Beagle-Heeler, with other breeds sprinkled in! She’s an estimated 32 lbs. born in January of 2021. This sweet girl enjoys the company of other dogs in her foster home, but prefers calm dogs. She can become startled by loud noises and quick movement but as her confident continues to grow, such things will likely not bother her. Siren is most likely to thrive in a quieter household consisting of adults. But older children, respectful of animals, would be good for Siren as well. She’d really enjoy the companionship of a calm, possibly older dog too. A secure fenced yard is also a plus. Siren is up to date on her vaccinations, heartworm negative and on year-round heartworm prevention, spayed and microchipped. She is believed to be housebroken as well. Sprout is an adorable purebred Beagle, who had spent the first year of his life in a cage at a Beagle Breeding & Testing Facility. He knew nothing but being used and abused by humans, no kindness, no gentle touch, and certainly no playing or running free with friends. Sprout joined BAARK in June of this year, fearful and confused, knowing nothing other than life in a cage, except when taken out for “use.” Fast forward to today and Sprout has made so much progress that one would never realize he came from a Beagle Breeding/Testing House of Horror. He is friendly and even cuddly unlike a couple of his friends who suffered the same horrors and much more physical torment at the facility. He is of course wonderful with other Beagles (but can get the entire pack into trouble at times!) and seeks out the company of people who are kind and compassionate toward him. These days, Sprout enjoys playing with toys, chewing bones, and running and cuddling with other Beagle friends. However, he also enjoys chewing plenty of things that he should not! Given his past life of living in a cage, he has had to learn how to live in a home and how to be a companion animal. To distract Sprout from getting into things and chewing things he should not, he enjoys plenty of toys, chew bones, and more toys to keep him busy and interested!! Sprout has been doing very well with housebreaking. He needs to work on feeling comfortable walking on a leash as well as riding in the car. But he is eager to learn and eager to please. Given his past, Sprout has not been forced to be in a crate in his foster home. For Sprout, potential adopters MUST…. - Have a history of experience as a pet parent to Beagles - Have at least one Beagle friend currently in the home - Live in a single family home. Sprout, like most all Beagles, enjoys spending time barking - Have a secure fenced yard (definitely no invisible fences) - Spend a minimal amount of time away from home (i.e. not work the typical 8 – 10 hour day), although Sprout has been good home alone (un-crated) in his foster home. - Remember that Sprout is a young Beagle, and very active, curious, and at times mischievous! - Live within 30 miles of Barrington IL. The above are minimal requirements with no exceptions, please. In addition, as for all of our dogs, we require a solid vet history for all current and past dogs. Sprout is fully vetted, is up to date on vaccinations, heart worm negative and on year-round heart worm prevention, is neutered and microchipped. Sprout’s estimated date of birth is 06-16-2025. He currently weighs approximately 22 lbs.
