Meet Bernice, a sweet and spunky, senior lady with a heart full of love and a personality to match! Her journey hasn’t been an easy one. She survived the tough streets of Chicago, and today, she’s living her best life in a loving foster home, where she’s happy, spirited, and more content than ever. Belly rubs, treats, and lots of attention are at the top of her wish list. Even though she has a bit of arthritis in her front leg, it doesn’t slow her down. This gentle lady is always ready for daily walks to sniff out all the interesting scents in the neighborhood, and patrol her yard for sneaky squirrels or rabbits.When she’s not outside, Bernice loves to curl up at your feet or find a cozy spot to nap in her bed. She sleeps through the night in complete comfort on her bed, in her foster’s bedroom. She’s house-trained and will politely let you know when it’s time for a potty break, making her a breeze to care for. Bernice is also extremely content when left home with her foster’s dogs and doesn’t require a crate, as she’s respectful of the belongings in the home and enjoys her quiet time.She is a polite gal who doesn’t bark much—except when she sees something exciting, like a squirrel scurrying by or hears another dog barking nearby. Though she’s not much into playing with toys, she enjoys being in the back yard with her foster’s dogs, soaking up the sunshine. Bernice enjoys being with other dogs, and isn’t shy about setting boundaries if needed.This sweet girl is ready to find a family who will love her for the rest of her years. She’s overcome so much, and after all she’s been through, she deserves nothing but the best. Bernice is a loyal, loving companion who will bring joy to anyone lucky enough to call her their own.
