Story
Arcadia is a sweet 9-month-old Belgian Malinois mix that was rescued two months ago from terrible living conditions in Texas. She has been brought up-to-date on her vaccines, spayed, micro-chipped, had a heartworm test, and is fully house-trained. She has started on basic obedience and socialization. It is unknown whether she will do well in a house with cats or other small animals, but she is well-behaved with other dogs and children. She is hesitant with strangers, but warms up quickly and is very affectionate. There are no signs of aggression towards strangers, but she does bark sometimes. Arcadia would do well in a home that is active and can continue to work on her manners, obedience, and training. She sleeps well in a crate, but is displaying some separation anxiety when crated during the day (some barking), so she will need someone willing to continue working on this to get her acclimated to her crate when not sleeping. She is sweet and ready for her forever home.

Meet Our Malinois/German Shepherd Mix Puppies! Think you know high-energy dogs? These stunning puppies are here to raise the bar! Their mom is a purebred Belgian Malinois, and their dad is a German Shepherd, creating an incredibly intelligent, athletic, and driven combination. They are expected to grow into beautiful dogs weighing 50+ pounds. These puppies are already showing exactly what you'd expect from this mix. They're incredibly smart and are already learning "sit." They are mouthy, nippy, energetic, tenacious, intense, and always looking for their next job. Everything is a game, a lesson, or an adventure! These are not puppies that will simply "grow out of it." They need owners who understand working breeds and are committed to daily training, structure, enrichment, and exercise. You must be intentional with these puppies. If you're inconsistent or lax, they'll happily take charge of the household! Because of this, breed-specific or similar working-breed experience is required. We are always selective with our adoption applications, but for these puppies, we will be especially thorough. We want homes that truly understand the commitment these incredible dogs require and can help them become the amazing companions they were bred to be. If you're looking for a loyal adventure partner, training companion, and a dog that will challenge and amaze you every single day, one of these puppies might just be your perfect match. Local adoption fee is $350(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $650 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Meet Cairo (aka Big Dog) 🐾 Looking for a loyal sidekick, adventure buddy, and professional Velcro dog all rolled into one handsome package? Meet Cairo — a 4-year-old neutered Belgian Malinois with a big personality and an even bigger heart. Cairo’s story started rough. He was found wandering the Texas countryside as a stray, severely underweight at just 50 pounds and too weak to stand. Today, this resilient boy has transformed into a healthy, happy 65-pound goofball who’s ready to leave the dusty roads behind and finally find his forever home. At first, Cairo can be a little reserved and cautious while he figures you out. But once you earn his trust, you’re officially his person. From that moment on, he becomes the ultimate Velcro dog — following you from room to room, leaning against your legs, attempting to climb into your lap like he’s a tiny puppy, and giving dramatic sighs if you leave him alone for too long. Like a true Belgian Malinois, Cairo is whip-smart, intensely loyal, and always ready for his next job — even if he occasionally invents one for himself. He’s the kind of dog who wants to be part of everything you do, whether that’s hiking a trail, tossing a ball in the backyard, or supervising your every move around the house. Malinois fans know the breed’s magic: fierce devotion, incredible intelligence, and a bond that runs deep. Cairo brings all of that… plus a goofy streak that keeps life entertaining. He’s equal parts loyal protector and oversized clown. One minute he’s on neighborhood watch duty with his serious “I’ve got this handled” bark, and the next he’s prancing around with a toy in his mouth like the happiest dork alive. He’s expressive, hilarious, affectionate, and absolutely full of personality. The Good Stuff: Crate trained and happy to relax in his kennel Mostly house trained and learning routines quickly Dog-friendly with excellent play energy Smart, eager to learn, and highly trainable Loves tug, fetch, puzzle toys, and interactive games A Few Honest Notes: Cairo is looking for an adult-only home or one with older, respectful teens. Young children make him nervous, and he does best when his space and boundaries are respected. He also cannot live with cats, chickens, or other small animals due to his prey drive. What Cairo Needs: Cairo is looking for someone who appreciates everything that makes a Belgian Malinois special — intelligence, athleticism, loyalty, and that deep desire to be connected to their person. He’s not a “sit around all day” kind of dog; he thrives when he has structure, activity, and a job to do, even if that job is mastering puzzle toys or joining you on outdoor adventures. Give this boy guidance, consistency, and plenty of love, and you’ll get the kind of once-in-a-lifetime dog people rave about. In return, Cairo will give you unwavering loyalty, endless laughs, and the kind of deep bond Belgian Malinois are famous for. If you’re ready for a smart, protective, hilariously clingy best friend, Cairo may be your perfect match. Apply today and give this big goofy boy the forever home he’s been waiting for. ❤️ Adoption only in Texas at this time $200 adoption fee

Meet Rexx! 🖤🐾 If you're looking for a puppy that's equal parts brains, loyalty, and good looks, let us introduce you to Rexx! At just 3 months old, Rexx is our best guess of a Belgian Malinois/German Shepherd mix. We don't know who his parents are (he didn't exactly come with a birth certificate! 😄), but we do know he's growing into one amazing pup. Rexx came to God's Dogs Rescue from a rural shelter with his littermates when he was only 5 weeks old. Since then, he's been living in a loving foster home where he's learning how to be the very best boy. This handsome guy is incredibly smart, eager to learn, and has a sweet personality that makes everyone fall in love with him. He enjoys being with his people, exploring the world around him, and is ready for a family that will continue helping him reach his full potential. Because of his working-breed heritage, Rexx will do best with an active family committed to providing continued training, exercise, and mental stimulation. Breed experience is preferred, but a family willing to learn and invest in him will be rewarded with one incredibly loyal companion. Rexx is: 🐶 Neutered 💉 Up to date on vaccines and preventions 📍 Microchipped ❤️ Raised in foster care since 5 weeks old 🏡 Ready for his forever home! Rexx isn't just looking for a home. He's looking for his person. Could that be you? 📍 Local Adoption Fee (Texas): $350 🚐 Out-of-State Adoption Fee: $650 (includes transport to your area)

Meet Leia: The Sweet and Spirited Shepherd Mix! Leia is a 1-year-old Shepherd mix with a big heart and an even bigger personality! At 59 pounds, this clever and goofy girl will keep you smiling with her quirky “woof woof” monologues and entertaining antics. While Leia loves to play, her true passion is cozy naps—and she’s ready to find a home that will shower her with love and let her thrive. Rescued at just 2 months old after being dumped in a dangerous Houston neighborhood, Leia and her sister were lucky to be taken in by kind-hearted people. She’s been thriving ever since, mastering tricks like house training, Sit, Shake, Leave it, and working hard on her “Stay.” Now, Leia is looking for her forever home! Leia is a playful and affectionate pup who loves wrestling with her sister, going on walks, and enjoying peanut butter popsicles. She’s also a bit of an opera singer, serenading you during mealtimes or when she’s in her crate and needs a potty break! While she can be a little shy in new situations (like at the vet), her determination shines through as she bravely faces the world, all for the chance to be with her people and her favorite toys. Leia is a true sweetheart who will fill your life with endless kisses and devotion. She’s ready to join a loving family that will embrace her gentle spirit and support her as she blossoms into the confident, courageous dog she’s meant to be. Leia is spayed, vaccinated, heartworm negative, microchipped, and dewormed. She is currently being fostered in Texas but is available for adoption in the Pacific Northwest through transport. Meet Luke: The Fun-Loving, Tail-Chasing Dynamo! Don’t let the name fool you—Luke is a sweet girl who will steal your heart with her endless energy and goofy antics! At 1 year old old and 60 lbs, Luke is a Shepherd mix with a playful spirit and a heart full of love. Whether she’s chasing her tail, practicing gymnastics, or hiding her toy in a secret spot (and forgetting about it), Luke will have you laughing all day long. Luke’s happy demeanor is matched by her eager-to-please attitude. She loves her walks, meeting new friends (both human and canine), and is always excited to make new connections—she knows no strangers! This brave little adventurer is as determined as she is sweet. Rescued at just 2 months old from a high-traffic neighborhood in Houston, she’s come a long way since then. She’s mastered commands like Sit, Shake, and Leave it, and is working hard on her “Stay” and house training. Luke even invented her own trick, “Give me ten!” where she gives you a double-high-five—talk about a show-off! Luke might just think she’s a cat! She loves sitting in boxes, perching on high places like picnic tables, and watching the world go by from your lap (if she fits!). Among her favorite things are bouncy toys, peanut butter popsicles, tummy rubs, running full speed, and splashing in the pool. She’s always the first to lead the charge into new adventures, and her zest for life is contagious. Luke is spayed, vaccinated, heartworm negative, microchipped, and dewormed. Currently being fostered in Texas, she’s available for adoption in the Pacific Northwest through transport. Story
Meet Skippy, aka Skippy-Doo! He's a 3-year-old, ~60-lb Shepsky mix with a heart full of love and energy. Skippy’s journey had a perfectly fairytale beginning -- he sneaked into his foster family’s yard to play with their resident dogs and was discovered the next morning. At the time, he was shy, having spent his life as a stray avoiding humans. But now, Skippy has blossomed into a happy and confident dog, excited to meet new people and enjoy life to the fullest. Skippy is incredibly dog-friendly, and he would thrive in a home with another energetic, playful dog. He’s a toy lover and has a habit of hoarding them, often stashing his toys in his bed and forgetting about them. He especially loves chasing footballs. He’s also learned several commands, including sit, stay, leave it, touch, and shake, and his playful, youthful energy makes him a great companion for active families or individuals who enjoy outdoor adventures. Skippy is a foster "office dog" at a local business, where he’s well-mannered and enjoys car rides, making him a great buddy to take along on outings. While Skippy is whip-smart and eager to please, he’s still learning and isn’t quite housetrained yet. However, with his quick learning abilities and eagerness to make his humans happy, he’ll do well with a bit of guidance and consistency in his training. Skippy does have some resource guarding tendencies, especially with toys or the backseat of a car, but he’s never shown aggression—just a polite warning bark when he feels the need to claim his space. Skippy is a healthy, fully-vetted dog who has been treated for heartworms, is on heartworm preventative, and is up-to-date on all vaccinations. He’s neutered and microchipped, ready for his forever family! If you're looking for a fun-loving, playful dog who will bring joy to your life, Skippy might just be the perfect companion. He’s ready to make new memories with you! If you're ready to welcome Skippy into your heart and home, apply today at www.doggedly.org/ado
