Story
Meet Lucky Breed: Belgian Malinois Age: 4–5 years Weight: 23kg Color: Black & Gray Neutered Male Height: 80cm (shoulder) Personality & Temperament Lucky is a big sweetheart who absolutely adores people. Even when meeting someone for the first time, he quickly opens up, follows them around, leans in for affection, and happily accepts pets. Though he has a large build, his gentle and calm nature makes him a very comforting companion to be around. At home, he enjoys lounging quietly, but if someone approaches, he immediately perks up and engages with joy. While he isn’t particularly into active games like fetch, he shows interest in toys and has a cute habit of gathering them in his kennel. He’s still learning how to play, but his curiosity and gentle demeanor shine through. Lucky is very polite when it comes to treats—he’ll nuzzle your hand with his nose but never grabs or behaves roughly. He currently lives peacefully with a cat and never growls or guards his food, even when the cat comes near during mealtimes. The same goes for his interactions with other dogs—he patiently waits his turn for treats and displays admirable manners and self-restraint. Socialization Lucky greets other dogs calmly on walks and at the playground but doesn’t actively seek out play yet—he still seems unsure about rough-and-tumble socialization. Sometimes, if he’s drinking and another dog approaches, he’ll gently move aside or hesitate to approach others first. He’s a respectful companion, who would rather avoid conflict than cause it. He is great with children under 13 years old. He allows being lifted with an arm under his belly and responds calmly to gentle handling. ‍ Outdoor Life & Training Lucky enjoys outdoor time at a moderate energy level and settles quietly once back inside. He’s currently working on leash manners; at the start of walks, he may pull a bit and tends to be afraid of passing cars or motorbikes, but he’s making steady progress with ongoing training. He may get startled by sudden movements or loud street noises, so extra care is needed in busy areas. Car & Kennel Lucky is very quiet overall and rarely barks. He rides calmly in a kennel and is not food-possessive toward humans or animals. He’s a bit nervous about getting into a car and needs to be carried in. While he resists a bit at first, once inside, he lies down quietly without signs of motion sickness. With more experience, he’ll likely gain the confidence to hop in on his own. House Training He is house-trained and uses both pee pads indoors and goes potty outdoors as well. Rescue Story Lucky was rescued from a city-run kill shelter just before euthanasia. He’s now safe and thriving in foster care—ready to find his forever family where he can truly belong. MEET SWEET FREYA.... Freya was rescued from a crowded California shelter in the nick of time. While there, she was kenneled with another dog, and was calm and gentle. She loves other dogs and is very playful, and she's a sweetheart with people. Freya is also a bit shy but will blossom once she knows you. She is likely a Belgian Malinois-shepherd cross. Freya is about 1-1/2 years old and is currently looking for a foster or forever home. She weighs about 55-60 lbs. Please email for an application.

Story
Lily is a 3 year old Belgian Malinois with a heart as big as her brain. This high energy, affectionate girl is quick to learn and thrives in an environment where she can stay active and engaged—especially if toys are involved (balls are her absolute favorite!). She needs an experienced and active home that can match her drive and give her the mental and physical stimulation she craves. Lily is not very social with other dogs, especially males, loves car rides and has a strong prey drive, so she would do best in a home without cats or small animals. Despite her tough exterior, Lily has a soft side—she absolutely loves to be brushed and will stop whatever she’s doing to soak up the attention. She also enjoys cuddle time on the couch and will gladly be your loyal companion. With her soft coat, soulful eyes, and big heart, Lily is ready to find her perfect match. Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Adoptable Junnie! Junnie is a 3 1/2-year-old, Malinois mix who is looking for his forever home! He has been waiting for a foster or forever home with us for 3 years and would love his happy ending to come soon! Junnie is a happy and sweet boy and loves to play and be active! He will require a very active family that has experience with working breeds. He would make a great running/ hiking partner and LOVES to play fetch. He needs to be mentally and physically stimulated so he would also do great with agility, games and nose work. Junnie is still learning how to socialize with other dogs and can be reactive and mouthy, as Malinois are, with other dogs. He needs to be the only dog in the home but with training and support could be fine around other dogs out and about. He will require a home with a fenced yard, no apartments. Junnie is not tested with kids but since he still needs to catch up on training and can be jumpy, he would be best in a home with older kids or adults. No cats. Junnie is on the wait list to be neutered and will be neutered prior to adoption. His adoption fee is $400.

Story
Animal Profile: Looking for a partner in crime? Meet Felon! He's around 18 months old and 55lb neutered male Belgian Malinois who is ready for a person to call his own. Despite his menacing name, this boy is a bundle of joy in a svelte package. Felon loves to go at full speed and would be a fantastic companion for someone looking to get into dog sports -- dock diving, barn hunt, IPO -- he wants a shot to shine! In typical Malinois form, he is highly intelligent, loyal, and athletic. He shows moderate food drive and high toy drive and is an exceptionally quick learner. He does have an off switch and is content to chill on place command with a stuffy toy, or in his crate. Felon is very friendly meeting new people and has lived with other dogs as well as cats, but will be best in a cat-free home. Felon has a strong grasp of basic obedience training including recall, place and loose leash walking. With this foundation he's ready to shine with a family dedicated to providing ongoing mental and physical stimulation, structure and leadership.  Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Adopter Profile: Large breed dog experience required Working breed dog experience preferred Other dogs of similar size OK No small dogs or cats Secure fenced yard preferred Interest in training/dog sports  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, and microchip with lifetime registration. Felon's adoption will include a go-home training session to set his future family up for success. The adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 non profit organization. Animal History: Felon was rescued from a chain in Baton Rouge Louisana by Trample Dog Rescue and taken in by The Good Dog, who relocated to Bellingham. He is currently being fostered by The Good Dog Way in Bellingham and available for adoption in the greater Seattle area. Potential adopters will need to be available to meet Felon in Bellingham, WA.May 13, 2025, 11:27 am
