Story
Marley • 6 Years Old • 70 lbs Australian Cattle Dog / Labrador Retriever Mix (Best Guess Meet Marley! Marley is a sweet, happy 6-year-old mixed breed girl who’s ready to find her forever home. She’s housebroken and making great progress with crate training — sleeping quietly in her crate at night, though she prefers to be out and about during the day. Marley currently lives with a large-breed canine companion and does wonderfully with other dogs. She loves spending time outdoors and will require a securely fenced yard to safely enjoy her favorite pastime. At around 70 pounds, Marley is a solid girl who could benefit from a little fitness routine — and she’s happy to work on that with her future family 😉 Marley is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. One thing she’s continuing to work on is her greeting manners. She gets very excited when her people come home and has a tendency to jump up out of pure joy. This behavior was allowed in her previous home, but she’s learning that all four paws belong on the floor — and she’s doing well with consistent, positive reinforcement. Her future family will want to continue reinforcing these good habits. Because of her size and enthusiasm, Marley would do best in a home with older children. If you’re looking for a loving, happy companion who’s eager to please and ready to keep learning, Marley may be your perfect match! Marley’s breed mix is a best guess based on appearance; her exact breed makeup is unknown. All of our dogs/pups are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccines. Adoption fee for all dogs/pups: $225. Our dogs are in foster homes across the KC metro. We do not have a shelter facility. Apply here: https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HAUS/Dog

Story
Dale was adopted as an emotional support dog for a retired soldier with PTSD. Due to a move out of state, his owner was unable to take Dale with him. Dale is an incredibly loving dog who enjoys close companionship and cuddling. He often jumps up to sit on my lap or curls up at the end of my bed. He loves being outdoors and especially enjoys long walks, ideally in areas where he can be off-leash, though he does very well on a leash when required. He is kennel trained and goes to his kennel independently at bedtime with a simple verbal cue (“go to kennel”). Dale is well-mannered, affectionate, and eager to be with his people. While I would love to keep Dale, my busy schedule doesn’t allow me to give him the daily walks, playtime, and attention he deserves. He would thrive in a home with someone who has the time to walk him daily, play with him regularly, and enjoy his affectionate nature.

Meet Carlsbad — Your Spirited, Snuggly Sidekick! 🐾 Carlsbad is a young Red Heeler/Pit Bull mix bursting with adorable puppy energy and big charm. He’s curious, playful, cuddly, and always ready to be part of whatever his people are doing. This friendly guy gets along great with dogs, cats, and children. In classic heeler fashion, he may try to herd his friends, but he’s learning quickly and his puppy manners are coming along beautifully. He’s outgrown his mouthy puppy phase and is turning into a polite, eager-to-please companion. Carlsbad already has some impressive “big dog” skills, too — he has free roam of his foster home and reliably uses the doggie door. He is fully housetrained as well! He absolutely loves having the freedom to pop outside for a sniff, adventure, or zoomie session, so a fenced yard would make him very happy. When he’s not exploring, Carlsbad is a total cuddler who enjoys curling up with his humans and soaking up affection. He’d thrive with a family who enjoys an active, smart, affectionate pup and is ready to keep up with his fun-loving heeler spirit. If you’re looking for a playful adventure buddy who also gives A+ snuggles, Carlsbad is your guy. 💛 ----------------------------------------- If you’re interested in adopting, please apply online at mscrescue.org/adopt. Meet Annette — The Sweet & Social Pointer Mix 💛 Annette is a gorgeous 1-year-old Pointer mix weighing in at 50 pounds of pure friendliness. With her soft, expressive eyes and gentle personality, she wins over every human she meets — and she does it with impeccable manners. Annette greets new people politely, happily soaking up attention without overwhelming anyone. She’s also dog-friendly and enjoys the company of other pups, making her a great match for a home with a canine companion. Cats, however, are not her cup of tea, so a cat-free home is a must. Annette is playful, affectionate, and eager to be part of whatever her people are doing. Whether it’s a walk, a romp in the yard, or simply lounging nearby, she’s happiest when she’s included. Sandy is a beautiful 1-year-old Pointer mix who weighs about 45 pounds and radiates sweetness everywhere she goes. She’s incredibly people-friendly and greets new friends with polite enthusiasm — never pushy, always gentle, and always excited to make a new buddy. Sandy gets along well with other dogs and would love a canine companion to play and explore with. Like many energetic young pups, she’s not a fit for a home with cats, but she makes up for it with her big heart and joyful spirit. At just one year old, Sandy has that perfect mix of playfulness and manners. She enjoys adventures, loves being included in family activities, and settles in beautifully once she’s had her fun. If you’re searching for a sweet, social, dog-friendly girl who’s ready to become your loyal companion, Sandy is ready to trot right into your life — and your heart. 🐾💕 ----------------------------------------- If you’re interested in adopting, please apply online at mscrescue.org/adopt. Being homeless and at a shelter isnt fun - can be downright scary. I was at a small&#44 rural town shelter which doesnt get much traffic. I was then fortunate to go to Great Plains to a much bigger town. Ohhhhhh&#44 Im hoping that it will help me find my own family and home.

The staff/volunteers are super nice and Im slowly feeling more confident with everything being new to me. I enjoy playing with stuffy toys and know the command&#44 sit. I walk nicely and do like back rubs (who doesnt?). You need to see me with other dogs. I am not bashful at all with other dogs. We speak the same language. Dogs give me confidence in myself and WOW playing in playgroups with different dogs is heaven for me.

Do you have a dog that would enjoy having a brother? Id be happy to have a sister or brother or both. Bring your dog(s) and lets meet. Im a good boy and look forward to meeting you.

All my love&#44
Bowie

Story
Meet Ziggy! This boy is a super speedy ball of energy and FUN! You absolutely can never get bored with him around. It's difficult to tell in a photo, but he is a super fun sized guy weighing in at only 38 lbs.! He's the perfect fit if you're looking for someone who can kick it with the big dogs, and has a big personality, but in a compact size! Ziggy is about 5 years old, he loves to play with his friends and definitely keeps us all laughing with his goofy, zoomie personality. Ziggy craves social interaction, from humans and other dogs. His previous owner left him alone on a tie out often, which caused him to have some separation anxiety. Having other dogs to play with has definitely helped him in this area, but he will still need a home where he will not be alone long hours of the day everyday. He would also do best in a home with a canine companion to play with. Ziggy will need an active family, he is a fun loving, high energy dog. He would not be an appropriate fit for someone who does not have the time to give him a lot of daily exercise and activity. Ziggy loves kids, but he is pretty hyper and needs to work on manners, so he may be to much for small toddlers and babies. However, older kids would be okay. Ziggy needs at least a 6 foot fence for any home with a yard, he can jump a four foot fence. Ziggy would be best in a home without cats or really tiny dogs as he wants to chase and play and is just a little to much for them. He is crate trained and should transition into housetraining quickly. If you have another dog, we will want to introduce them to ensure that they get along well.

Story
After a lifetime of love, Shelly is hoping for one more forever. Shelly is an 11-yr old Cattle Dog mix with a heart full of love and loyalty. She’s spent nearly her whole life in a wonderful home, but sadly, her owner has become ill and can no longer care for her. Now, this gentle girl is looking for a new family to love for the rest of her days. Shelly is the kind of dog who makes every day a little brighter. She loves her walks, enjoys quiet cuddle time, and would be thrilled to share your bed or your couch for snuggles at night. She’s easygoing, affectionate, and gets along well with other dogs. She would do best in a house with no cats, since they are new to her. This lovely senior just wants a soft place to land and someone to call her own again. She still has so much love to give — all she needs is a family to give it to. If you’re looking for a loyal companion, Shelly is looking for you too! Shelly will come fully vetted, spayed, microchipped, and up to date on heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee is $125. Apply to adopt Shelly today at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/LUCK/Dog or at www.lucky13rescue.org.

Story
Hi there! I am a lovable little puppy! Even though I am cute as a button I will take some work as I adjust into my new home. Don`t get me wrong, we will have a lot of fun in the meantime but I will need time to understand what`s expected of me. I will need help on all those fun puppy things like house training and basic obedience. I want to learn everything I possibly can. I am pretty excited about life and doing new things! My goal is to be your lifelong companion and I should learn quickly with praise, treats and little patience. I`d really love for us to get enrolled in training classes, after all school is the best way to get us both educated on what it takes to raise a puppy! It will be fun to watch me as I`m learning, after all puppies can be pretty silly. If you`re ready to take on all the fun and companionship, come on out to Wayside Waifs today!

These pups are in Overland Park, Kansas too!

Luna 4 years old • 30 lbs Terrier / Australian Shepherd mix (best guess) Luna is a sweet, easygoing girl with a friendly, social nature. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs, kids, and both male and female adults, making her a great fit for a wide variety of homes. Foster reports she doesn't shed and is easy to groom! She is potty trained and enjoys being part of daily life with her people. Luna has a nice balance of calm companionship and playful curiosity—happy to join in when it’s time to be active, and just as content to relax and hang out nearby. At 4 years old, Luna is past the puppy chaos and ready to be a steady, loving companion. She’s an excellent choice for a family or individual looking for a well-mannered dog who already has good habits and an affectionate personality. Breed mix is a best guess based on appearance; we cannot guarantee breed makeup. ✨ All Heart of America Humane Society dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations.
