Story
Cap'n is a unique and beautiful boy looking for an active family to join! He is 5 years old and came to our rescue when his Dad sadly passed away. He is 75lbs and is wicked smart. He is potty trained, crate trained, does great on a leash and in the car. True to his breed he likes to be active and likes to learn things but is also down for a good snuggle. He would be a great running buddy or a great fit for an active person. He does seem to bond particularly close to men and would do best with a male owner in the home. Due to his size and energy we recommend his home have a yard, no small children, and no cats. Cap'n has been in a board and train program through Midas Touch dog training. True to his breed he can be protective when meeting new people and James his trainer can give specific instructions on how to set Cap'n's family up for success after adoption. His trainers think he is an amazing boy! He can also have a tendency to "herd" the other dogs in his home. This is a common breed trait in cattle dogs. He would do best as an only dog or with another dog that is more laid back. If you are interested in meeting Cap'n, please fill out an application via our website at https://therescueproject.net/adoption-application and we will get back to you via email once your application has been reviewed. If you have further questions please feel free to reach out to us at adoptionstrp@gmail.com. Cap'n's adoption fee is $100 and includes age appropriate vaccines, neuter, microchip, deworm, heartworm testing.

Story
Dax had been in a single pet home with just me for 6.5 years in a house with a yard and lead. Over the last year we moved to the city into a townhome with my girlfriend and her 2 chihuahua mixes. Since moving he has become more aggressive towards the chihuahuas and my girlfriend. He has snapped at all of them aggressively and even bitten one of the chihuahuas. When he is with me only, he is very happy and playful. He is 8.5 years old, so he has a medium energy level. While he enjoys tug of war, fetch, and find the hidden treats, he believes he is an 85 pound little lap dog that wants to sit next to you. I believe he would do great in a single pet home with room to run around and play. He is house-trained, knows basic commands, a little rusty on a leash but loves walks. He knows how to stay very well. He will sit in one room while I hide treats in others, then seek them out after releasing him. He's also great with “leave it”.

Hey there, my name is Milo! I’ve been at the shelter for a while now, but before I came here I was living in a homeless camp. My rescuer found me in a bad situation and brought me to my PAWS family. I am an energetic guy, and I love to run and wrestle with my canine friends. I play in doggy daycare every day! My motto is: Play hard, Nap hard. I can be shy when first meeting people, but once I get to know you I’m sure I’ll love you! I love to snuggle and I appreciate a nice, warm blanket.  I’ve only been in a house a couple times in my life, so I’ll need to learn the ropes, but I am a quick learner and I promise I’ll make you proud! Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Meet Tito! This handsomely cute little guy had a rough start to life, but has found that the rescued life is a good life - but he also knows that the adopted life will be the BEST life! Tito is estimated to be around 14 weeks old, and our best guess is that he's a heeler mix. He is mostly kennel and house trained, but as with any puppy, will take some time adjusting to a new house/routine. He is super dog friendly and cat curious. Because of his breed's nature, we recommend either breed experience if there's a cat in the home, or no cats. Tito is in the puppy phase of exploring with his mouth, so we recommend no kids under the age of 6 (exceptions will be made for breed experience). Tito will be available to LOCAL (KC area) adopters only through our foster to adopt program. His adoption fee is $250 and comes with all age appropriate vaccines, neuter, microchip, and heartworm prevention. To meet Tito, submit an application at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/LUCK/Dog

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Meet Eddie Spaghetti! He might be the littlest guy on the block but he makes up for it in snuggles and heart. He does love to play but he is equally happy to snuggle with you on the couch. Eddie is not afraid to use his voice and let you know if he does or does not like something. He is very food motivated and should be easy to train. We are still working on potty and crate training. With a little time and some food motivation he should pick it up in no time! Eddie will come with age-appropriate vaccines, neutered, microchipped, and up to date on heartworm prevention. His adoption fee is $250. Apply to adopt Eddie today at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/LUCK/Dog or at www.lucky13rescue.org.
