Story
Meet Finley! Fin is a 2 year old border collie mix. He has a LOT of energy, and would do best in an active home. He loves his walks, and playing. He's good with other large dogs. Due to his energy, he would do best in an adult only home. Finley needs a firm handler, someone who is patient and will use positive reinforcement to reward good behavior. He was never shown how to act as a puppy, and still has a lot of puppy tendencies. He is house and kennel trained, but lacks manners that he is working on. Story
Koda is a sweet, high energy girl who loves play time!! She is still working on crate training as it makes her a little anxious, but is doing well with positive reinforcement training. She is good with dogs of all sizes and kids too. She is okay being in the same room as cats, but if they run she will chase after them. She is very athletic and is a high jumper and will need a tall fence. She walks well with a harness and would be best in a home with another dog to help get her energy out. Koda needs a few hours of exercise a day and will do best with an active family. She would love to go on walks/ runs with you!! She is house trained and knows commands such as...sit, down, wait and tricks such as...shake, sit pretty, stand and spin! She'd be a great agility dog!! She also loves to swim and car rides!

Story
This dog is a courtesy listing for one of our rescue partners Allen county animal rescue facility. They are a rural animal control shelter near Iola KS. Many dogs are brought to their facility after being found as strays, dumped, surrendered, or brought in by the city. However, because they are in such a rural town, they have a very small pool of adopters and have a hard time finding homes for the dogs in the shelter. Our promise as their rescue partner is that should someone apply through us, we will handle any transportation needed to get the dog to their forever home, we will assist with home visits, dog intros and anything needed to help get these dogs out of the shelter and into loving homes. Please fill out our online dog adoption application if you are interested in adopting this pet. Landry is 3 years old, 82 pounds, neutered, up to date on all necessary vetting.  Meet Landry! Landry is the biggest baby you'll ever meet. He is 82 pounds in the physical world, but his soul is 10 pounds. He is a lover and wants to be wherever his people are. Landry does well with people, though can be shy at first, as well as other dogs! No cats for this fella, though. Truly, this snuggle bug would love to be your new best friend. If he sounds like your kind of guy, apply to meet him!April 24, 2024, 8:30 am

Story
Tugboat is an absolute sweetheart! While he's a little over 9 months old, he still gets bursts of puppy energy and LOVES to play. Once he's burned off most of his energy, he turns into a total lovebug and just wants to snuggle and be as close to you as possible. Tugboat does great with other dogs, and we think he would do fine with cats as well (as long as he is given a slow, proper intro). He's been around a few kiddos and did great with them. He can be VERY excited when he first meets new people but quickly calms down. He's a very smart boy and a quick learner. He'll make a fantastic addition to his new family!

Looking for a very energetic young girl? Do you have time to train me some dog manners? If so, I am the dog for you! I am an energetic girl, who loves to play, run, jump, and all the things a pup likes to do. Sadly, when I arrived at the shelter as a stray, the staff knew I was an adorable pup, but I never had any training. So I will need someone to help me learn the proper manners of a dog. The staff has resources available that they can share with you.Now to brag. I may have a lot to learn, but the staff has let me be the dog of the week! This means I got to spend time up in a suite by the front lobby, and when visitors stop in, they can come and great me and give me treats! Yummmmmmy! Not all dogs get this opportunity to be in the suite during the day. The staff trusts me to stay in the room and be kind and courteous those who stop in to say hello. Please give the shelter a call and make an appointment to come see me!

Story
Hi, I'm Sydney, a 3-year-old AussieDoodle!! I am learning to be an indoor dog at my foster home with one dog that's smaller than me and one that's bigger. I'm super mellow and very quiet. I'm still a bit shy but my personality is blossoming with each passing day. I've only encountered one cat and I wasn't interested. I love to follow my human around the house. I'm learning how to play with the other dogs and starting to wag my tail. I still get a little nervous with unexpected movements and loud sounds but I'm getting more comfortable every day...because of this I'd prefer a calmer home with older kiddos. I have no desire to get on the furniture as long as I have a soft place to lay on the floor. I recently got a haircut so my beautiful, non-shedding, super soft coat can grow back fresh and new. My groomer said I was a great customer. I walk perfectly on a leash, sleep all night in my kennel, and eat like a champ. I would love a forever home with a loving family. Before applying please keep in mind that Sydney will require routine grooming. Applications processed in order received. Located in the KC area.

Story
Lady was recently rescued from a breeder and is learning what being a family dog is all about. She is cautious and shy around new people, so she will need someone who understands her past and willing to give her the love and patience she deserves. She is doing great with potty training and starting to let her foster family know when she's ready to go out. She is a darling girl and is fine with all size dogs and kids too. She hasn't met a kitty.
