Meet Finley! Fin is a 2 year old border collie mix. He has a LOT of energy, and would do best in an active home. He loves his walks, and playing. He's good with other large dogs. Due to his energy, he would do best in an adult only home. Finley needs a firm handler, someone who is patient and will use positive reinforcement to reward good behavior. He was never shown how to act as a puppy, and still has a lot of puppy tendencies. He is house and kennel trained, but lacks manners that he is working on. We show our dogs by appointment only. If you are interested in adopting Keeley, please fill out our online application at kcpaws.org.  Keeley is a 2 year old Border collie mix. She weighs about 40 lbs and is a compact medium size. Her adoption fee is $200. All KC PAWS dogs come fully vetted and microchipped.  Keeley came to us when we rescued several dogs from a terrible hoarding situation in Licking MO. The 30+ dogs were roaming the property, covered in ticks, with little food or shelter. Once back at the rescue, Keeley was the first to bond with the staff and while we sat for hours removing ticks from her, she sat patiently and gave us kisses the whole time.  Keeley is very dog friendly and plays in doggy daycare playgroups daily. We do not know if she has ever been around cats and would need to test her with any cats in the home if any. Unfortunately, Keeley had never been around young kids before now and at this point in her life they make her extremely nervous. She would need an adult only home, teenage kids and older would be fine but small children would not be an appropriate fit for her.  Keeley is enjoying learning all of the things she never had the opportunity to do before like car rides, going for walks, and playing with toys! She gets so excited to meet new people and wags her whole body when she sees a new friend coming her way! She gives the best hugs and will let you hold her like a little kid.  She is fully kennel trained and should transition well into house training with frequent potty breaks and a consistent schedule. Keeley still needs work on leash walking as she had never been walked on a leash before coming to us. She is still getting used to the feeling of the leash but does well with positive encouragement.   Keeley is silly and playful and just wants to be a lap dog deep down. She enjoys sitting in our front desk office chair and greeting people as they come into the lobby! Meet Stewart! He's a sweet, spunky, super soft boy that would love to play ball with you! He is fully house and kennel trained and does great with kids, other dogs and cats. His favorite past times include playing fetch with his ball and laying on the couch watching the squirrels. He is extremely food motivated and would love to show you how he can sit, lay, roll over on his back (into the cutest pose) and even do a little twirly dance for a treat. He would love to lay at your feet in bed all night long, but will also stay in his kennel with no complaints. Unfortunately, we never quite know where life will end up and with the changes in his previous owners life, working 2 jobs didn't leave enough room for him to get the attention he deserves. Freckles is a 9 year old Border Collie mix who loves going for a walk, shaking hands for a treat, and lounging in her dog bed. She does not mind her crate and is completely house trained and up to date on vaccines. Her human mom died and Freckles along with her other dog friends and 2 cats were sent to a shelter. She lived there for a month, but now is with a foster. She does well with older kids and dogs in her current foster home.
