This INCLUDES spay/neuter and microchip. **Ask me about our many adoption benefits that include free exams, pet insurance, training and other discounts! ESTIMATE WEIGHT FULL GROWN: 44 lbs KNOWN WITH DOGS: Azalea is a physical player who likes to get into hard play. She is well socialized with other dogs and will do a great job reading body language. KNOWN WITH CATS: Azalea has never lived with cats to our knowledge. We would be happy to find out if you are interested! KNOWN WITH KIDS: Azalea has lots of energy and may be too much for younger children. Azalea also has some fear when it comes to strangers so an active home with children coming and going may be too much for her. KNOWN COMMANDS: Azalea received professional training while in her last home and knows several commands like Heel, Stay and Place. She has lots of ability to learn if you are interested in having a training partner! KNOWN HOUSEBREAKING &/OR CRATING: Azalea is good in her crate and has lived in a home before and there were no reports of accidents in the home. KNOWN LIKES: Azalea is a frisbee queen. She loves to play fetch with them and would love to star in your own personal halftime show! She also enjoys playing with other dogs that match her playstyle, snuggling with people she knows, and playing in water KNOWN DISLIKES: Azalea does not like strangers and needs to be put in positions where she does not come into close contact with people she doesn't know. She is also not a fan of squirrels and may run after them if given the opportunity. ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: Azalea was returned to Homeward Trails when her loving family had to deal with major medical issues and could no longer care for her. While she was with the family, she went to an overnight training facility and learned a whole lot of great skills. Azalea would like to have access to a fenced in area where she can run free but needs higher walls to keep her contained. She's got a lot of brains to use so she would like to train and have an active lifestyle. Story
Come meet me during our events Saturday and Sunday from 10 AM - 4 PM at the Homeward Trails Manny Law Adoption Center, 11116 Fairfax Station Rd, Fairfax Station, VA. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out our dog adoption questionnaire and e-mail any questions to: adoptioncenter@homewardtrails.org PLEASE VISIT THIS WEBSITE TO FIND THE ADOPTION QUESTIONNAIRE: http://www.homewardtrails.org/adopt-a-pet/adoption-forms/ LOCATION: Adoption Center ADOPTION COORDINATOR: Adoption Center ADOPTION FEE: Finding a loving home for every pet is the ultimate goal of BISSELL Pet Foundation. As the nation's largest funded adoption event, Empty the Shelters helps homeless pets find families by making adoption affordable for prospective pet owners. As such, this pup's adoption fee will be $50 from July 8th through July 31st! ESTIMATE WEIGHT FULL GROWN: 50 lbs KNOWN WITH DOGS: Ruby does well with other dogs. She is able to participate in play groups at the Homeward Trails Adoption Center. KNOWN WITH CATS: Ruby has demonstrated prey drive while on walks attempting to chase squirrels and stray cats. As such, we do not wish to send Ruby to a home with small companion animals. KNOWN WITH KIDS: Ruby lived with two teenagers and a preteen. Based on other information, we would suggest Ruby would do best in a home with low traffic. KNOWN COMMANDS: Ruby knows sit, stay, and come. She would love to learn more!! KNOWN HOUSEBREAKING &/OR CRATING: Ruby is fully housebroken. KNOWN LIKES: Ruby loves being outside, going on long hikes and walks. In her previous home, she worked with a trainer several times wherein she greatly improved with her leash walking skills. She does really well meeting strangers and other dogs while on walks. KNOWN DISLIKES: Ruby can be reactive to lots of activity outside her home. She was also reactive to new people coming into her home. ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: Introducing Ruby - a precious gem of a pup ready to shine bright in her forever home! With an estimated weight of 50 lbs, Ruby may be a big girl, but she's as precious as they come, with a heart full of love and loyalty waiting to be shared with her new family. In the world of canine companionship, Ruby is a true gem - she gets along well with other dogs and is a pro at participating in playgroups at the Homeward Trails Adoption Center. However, it's important to note that Ruby has demonstrated some prey drive during walks, showing interest in chasing squirrels and stray cats. As such, she would do best in a home without small companion animals. When it comes to her interactions with kids, Ruby has experience living with teenagers and a preteen. Based on this information, we believe Ruby would thrive in a calm and low-traffic environment where she can feel safe and secure. In terms of commands and housebreaking, Ruby is a work in progress, but she's eager to learn and please her humans. And when it comes to her likes, Ruby is in her element outdoors - she loves going on long hikes and walks, and she's made great strides with her leash walking skills through training sessions with her previous owner. She's also friendly and sociable with strangers and other dogs she meets along the way. While Ruby is a precious gem, she does have her dislikes - she can be reactive to lots of activity outside her home and may exhibit possessive behaviors. However, with the right guidance and training, we're confident that Ruby will continue to blossom into the shining star she's meant to be. So, if you're ready to open your heart and home to a precious jewel of a pup, look no further than Ruby - she's ready to become your loyal companion and faithful friend for life. Don't miss out on the chance to welcome this special girl into your family - adopt Ruby today and watch as she brightens up your world with her love and affection! Story
Tiva was turned in to the shelter because her people lived in a apartment with no yard to play in, and Tiva loves to run around and play.Tiva is very cute little border collie mix, she has one blue eye and one brown eye, she is very smart as most border collie's are. She absolutely loves to play ball and returns the ball back, ready to go again, she cant wait for you to throw it.Tiva is a excellent frisbee catcher, she just soars off the ground to catch it and will return it back to go again. She will play as long as you will let her, she's always ready to go.We think she would do best with active family or person, with someone that has time to play with her and keep her busy.Come see this cute fun size girl, she is lots of fun. Story
Here is what sweet Pickle BC's foster mom tells us about her: 'Pickle BC is a real sweetheart! And she is house trained now too! She sleeps well through the night and is very easy to correct. Pickle is also a good watch dog! She is very good at keeping herself entertained with a tennis ball or bone and thankfully, is non-destructive inside or outside. She's very quick to get to food that falls on the floor and loves her meals! She would be great in a home that has a playful dog already and has someone a good part of the day. Pickles loves everyone in the family and doesn't play favorites. She has really come out of her shell and she will make an excellent family pet!!' We think she really needs to be in a home with another playful or confident dog to help her continue to progress. If you are interested in this beautiful and sweet pup, please let us know! We love Naomi! Full Stop. She has never met a stranger - human or canine. She is wonderful with everyone she meets including other dogs! She is clean in her kennel and only goes potty outside of her run. She never chews on anything in her kennel that she is not supposed to.
