Story
In 2023 I adopted Max when he was 2 years old, he is now 4! His birthday is September 4th, 2021. He has a ton of energy so someone who is active is ideal. I would like to see Max be able to have a yard where he can play and have an owner that will be able to keep up with his active lifestyle!

Story
Maya (known as Sydney in her foster home of 4 months) is a beautiful, smart, gentle and sweet girl. She is very loving, playful, eager to please, and house-trained. She has a very short tail and when she sees someone she loves, her whole body wiggles! She is very intelligent and quickly learned the names of her various toys and often figures out what you want her to do before you even ask. She loves to be outside in the yard with her person and her canine buddy; walks in the neighborhood she likes, but walks in the woods she loves. She wants to be your best friend and do everything you ask, but sometimes the world is a little too scary for her. She can be slow to warm up to new people and places, and likes to have a "safe space" all her own. She is cautiously happy to meet most women and some men, but she is timid with older men. She therefore is unlikely to do well in a home that includes an older man, but would likely do well in a home with a younger man. Although she has had very limited exposure, she seems fine with children. She has been fine (but shy) with the cat in her foster home. She is initially timid around most dogs, but would probably do well sharing a home with a confident, playful dog, and as you can see from the videos, once she's comfortable with another dog, she loves to run and play! Maya will need a meet and greet before proceeding with an adoption. She was rescued by HART after being surrendered to a shelter; we don't know where she lived before that. She has made steady progress coming out of her shell, but will need a person(s) who has some experience with anxious dogs and will be very patient and loving with her. Questions About this Animal? Story
Hi! My name is Ozzy, and I arrived at OPH on 1/9/2026. I am Estimated to be a 2 year old Australian Shepherd mix. I have only been with Foster mom for a short time, but here is what she has to say about me so far: - I am very friendly and outgoing. Everyone is my friend! - I am good with other dogs - I love the car and will jump right in. Sometimes I think car rides equal snuggle time, so I needed to be seatbelted in to keep me out of foster mom's lap. - I LOVE toys, especially squeaky balls. Want to play fetch?? - I am high energy (typical for my breed); I'd love a hiking or running buddy! Lets do all the outdoor activities! - I haven't had any accidents in the house - I like the crate! I go right in with a treat and settle right down I sound pretty awesome, right?? Check back for more updates as foster mom learns more about me! Apply to adopt today!

Story
Meet Pepito 🐾 Pepito is a 10-month-old, 25-lb Mini Aussie mix with a playful heart and an eagerness to learn. Rescued from a rural shelter, this sweet boy can be a little shy when he first meets new people—but don’t let that fool you. Give him a little time and reassurance, and Pepito quickly blossoms into a happy, affectionate companion. Once he feels comfortable, Pepito’s fun-loving side shines through! He absolutely loves playing with his doggie friends and would thrive in a home with another friendly pup or regular playtime. His size makes him perfect for cuddles, adventures, and everything in between. Pepito is looking for a patient, loving home that will help him continue building confidence and show him how wonderful life can be. In return, you’ll get a loyal, playful best friend who’s ready to grow up by your side. Pepito is located in Texas. His adoption fee is $195 local or $395 out of state with transport and includes current shots, microchip and neuter. If you are interested in Pepito please complete the adoption application at the link below. If you have any questions email us at sgdrsa@outlook.com https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/SGDR/Dog

Story
Hi there! My name is Ray, short for 'Radar.'  That is because, you got it, my magnificent, perky ears!  I don't miss a thing!  Especially when I hear the sound of a hand reaching into a bag of my doggie treats.  I love running and playing with my foster sister so I would make a great companion pet. I also love my daily walks. I am working on gaining confidence when I'm out on walks and improving daily.  I do check the boxes for housetrained, dog friendly, kid friendly, all around people friendly and SWEETNESS.  Did I mention I sleep through the night! I warm up quickly when I first meet people and I love cuddles.  I have a heart full of love and wating for that person/family to welcome me into their home. Accuracy is not guaranteed; however, information provided is accurate to the best of our knowledge.  For more information on the pet, please send an email to info@aforeverhome.org December 6, 2025, 10:37 pm
