Story
Sydney is a beautiful, smart, gentle and sweet girl. She is very loving, playful, eager to please, and house-trained. She has a very short tail and when she sees someone she loves, her whole body wiggles in delight! She likes to snuggle up with you on the couch and adores belly rubs. She is intelligent and quickly learned the names of her various toys and often figures out what you want her to do before you even ask. She loves to be outside in the yard with her person and her canine buddy, and enjoys walks in the neighborhood, but it's the walks in the woods she really loves. She wants to be your friend and do everything you ask, but sometimes the world is a little too scary for her. She can be a little slow to warm up to new people and likes to have a "safe space" all her own. She is cautiously happy to meet most people, but she is generally a little more timid with men. She has had very limited exposure, but she seems to be fine with children. She was initially merely shy with the cat in her foster home. Recently, the cat was having a bad week and unfortunately lashed out at Sydney several times, so Sydney has become fearful of the cat; we are not sure if that means she will be fearful of all cats now. She is initially timid around most dogs, but would probably do well sharing a home with a confident, playful dog, and as shown in the videos, once she's comfortable with another dog, she loves to run and play! Sydney was rescued by HART after being surrendered to a shelter, we don't know where she lived before that. She has made steady progress coming out of her shell, but will need someone experienced with anxious dogs and who will be very patient and loving with her. Story
Honey Butter is as sweet as his name suggests. This affectionate little puppy loves being close to his people and has quickly become his foster family’s constant shadow. He gets along wonderfully with other animals and is currently thriving in a foster home with both cats and dogs. Whether he is following you from room to room or curling up beside you, Honey Butter is happiest when he is near those he loves. His foster family tells him everyday that he is the cutest puppy ever but he cannot hear them when they say that! Honey Butter is a double merle Australian Shepherd which has resulted in him being deaf. This does not slow him down, though. He is a cheerful, easygoing puppy who approaches life with curiosity and enthusiasm. He sleeps through the night, is making great progress with leash walking and potty training, and already knows how to sit. He is learning to communicate through visual cues and is building a strong foundation with hand signals. As an Australian Shepherd, Honey Butter is both intelligent and energetic. He will thrive in a home that understands the needs of his breed and is committed to continuing his training so he can become the best version of himself. A patient, structured environment with consistent routines and positive reinforcement will help him build confidence and succeed. Because he cannot hear, continued use of visual communication will be especially important. Honey Butter’s foster family strongly prefers a home with another dog who can help guide him and provide companionship. A securely fenced yard is essential so he can safely explore, play, and enjoy his favorite activities like running and sunbathing. Deaf dogs rely on their environment for safety, so a physical fence is necessary to keep him protected. Honey Butter is a loving, loyal puppy who will bring warmth, companionship, and joy to a home that is ready to support his unique needs. If you think you're that lucky family, submit your meet and greet request today! He promises never ending cuddles   Adoption Day: April 25th at PetSmart Tysons Corner from 10:00–11:00 AM, an approved adopter must be present to adopt.   Some pups may stick around until 11:00 AM for the public event—check our Facebook page closer to the date to see if this pup will be attending the extra fun! ##2702501##

Story
Cali needs a new home. She’s a good girl but due to losing my home, I am no longer able to keep her. She’s about 2 1/2 years old - white with a few black spots. Squeaky toys and bouncy balls are her favorite. My 1st pup-pup passed away last year so she was with him for about 6 months. Cali wanted to play but he was an old man and just wanted to chill. Otherwise, she’s good with dogs and children once she warms up - takes about 10 minutes at most. Cali is 50 pounds (she sits on my lap and I’m fine) and probably 2 feet high. She looks smaller than her weight. She is fixed and on flea/tick preventative and heart worm preventative. She is an Aussie mix with lots of energy. My nieces and nephews love to run around the yard with her. She loves it too.

Story
Meet Hamish Hamish is a 7-month-old black tri Australian Shepherd with charm for days and a personality as big as his puppy paws. He truly believes the world is his stage—and that everyone he meets was put here to adore him. Spoiler alert: they usually do. This happy, social boy loves to play and would thrive in an active home, ideally with a dog sibling who can keep up with his enthusiasm. Chasing a ball is one of his favorite things, and he could happily do that all day. After long walks and playtime, he’s perfectly content curling up for naps. Hamish is cat-friendly. He knows better than to chase them, though he occasionally gets a little carried away with sniffing and earns a gentle reminder from his feline friends. Hamish is very intelligent (named after Constable Hamish Macbeth from the beloved Scottish series). He already knows sit, lay down, and shake. Like most puppies, his follow-through still needs polishing, but he is eager to learn, highly food-motivated, and doing an amazing job so far. As a puppy, he will need continued training, structure, and socialization to help him grow into the incredible dog he’s meant to be. Because he is young and people-oriented, Hamish cannot be left alone for long hours. He is looking for an engaged, committed human who has the time and energy to invest in a bright, affectionate puppy—and who’s ready for a lifetime of love, laughter, and adventure. Hamish’s good qualities are endless, and wherever he lands, he is sure to bring immeasurable joy to his forever family. To apply to adopt Hamish, please apply through Aussie Rescue of the Mid-Atlantic (ARMA) at https://www.aussierescuemidatlantic.org

Story
Aussie Rescue of the Mid-Atlantic - ARMA Double the Dogs, Double the Love: Meet Cowboy and Max ARMA is excited to accept applications for Cowboy and Max. If you are an approved ARMA adopter, please contact the volunteer with whom you are working. If you would like to be approved for this handsome pair of Aussies, our adoption application can be found on our website -- https://aussierescueofthemidatlantic.org/ Currently in Edgewater, Maryland, the two handsome seven-year-old brothers are waiting for their next chapter. Cowboy and Max have spent their entire lives together, and their bond is clear the moment you meet them. These 53-pound littermates are neutered, vaccinated, on preventatives, and hoping to find a family willing to welcome them both. They are a bonded pair and will be adopted together. Cowboy is the stunning blue merle and a total cuddle bug. He can be a little shy at first, but he warms up quickly and is incredibly sweet. Once he trusts you, he just wants to be close and soak up affection. He takes treats very gently and has such a soft, kind personality. Cowboy does have a manageable eye condition called episcleritis, which simply requires eye drops twice a day to keep him comfortable. Max is the classic tri-color and brings the enthusiasm. Ball is life for Max. He will happily play fetch until your arm gives out and proudly carries his favorite ball everywhere like a prized possession. He loves meeting people, leans right in for pets, and is always ready for a belly rub. Like his brother, he’s very polite taking treats. Together, Cowboy and Max are an easy, lovable pair. They walk nicely on leash, travel well in the car, and are comfortable in a crate. They are good with other dogs and even fine with cats. They may need a little refresher on house training, but with patience, routine, and love, these boys will figure it out quickly. Cowboy and Max have spent their whole lives side by side, and we will ensure they stay that way. Because they are bonded, Cowboy and Max will be adopted together.
