Story
Rescued by a kind stranger who saw peanut dumped/thrown out of a car and abandoned near a public park. He is an active puppy, sociable with other dogs and embraces affection. Please do NOT call to ask if this puppy is available for adoption. If this listing is still posted then we are still accepting applications. Please read the narrative in its entirety. Please note our adoption procedures are explained in GREAT DETAIL BELOW. READ, READ, READ. Thank You. . . . . The best match will be selected and contacted to confirm an appointment at Petsmart in Yorba Linda on Saturday between noon and 3 pm or on a mutually agreeable day, time and place. We do not do out-of-state adoptions for puppies and we cannot hold puppies; please submit your application when you are ready to adopt. The adoption fees cover the mandatory and non-negotiable spay/neuter, rabies, microchip, microchip registration, core vaccinations including rabies and 4 sets of distemper/parvo and deworming. Adoption fees vary based on age, breed, size and the costs incurred on the dog's behalf by us i.e. medical, behavioral training, etc. Puppies are not house-trained although they may have begun crate-training and/or potty pad training in their foster home, depending on their age. House-training is a process that will need to be completed by their adopter. Puppies, if left unsupervised and not redirected will develop negative behaviors such as using the restroom in the wrong place, chewing, barking, whining, etc. Please be sure to do research on raising a puppy and be sure that you are prepared to do so. This is a great article from 3LostDogs that explains the trials and tribulations of puppyhood: http://3lostdogs.com/things-wish-everyone-knew-before-they-get-dog-2/

If you are interested in one of our dogs, please complete an application on line at www.ahome4everrescue.org Prince is a wonderful dog who was placed on the euth list because he had lost weight.   After being rescued from the shelter and placed in a loving home he regained his weight and became the happy dog he  was meant to be.   He still suffers from anxiety and will need to be in a home that will continue his training as he regains confidence.  He will do best in a home with an experienced owner.   If you are interested in Prince please complete an application on line at www.ahome4everrescue.org.  --- Come meet our dogs on Saturdays at PetSmart in Costa Mesa from 11:30-2:30. Story
Henry came to us by way of the SEAACA animal shelter.  When he arrived at the shelter two weeks prior, he was in pretty terrible shape.  His ears were destroyed by fly strikes, and his entire muzzle was covered in scabs/sores.  He waited for two weeks, but nobody ever claimed him, and he wasn't adopted.  We were able to step in and save him from taking his final walk. Henry is literally one of the calmest boxers we have ever seen. He's pretty solid, but so so so tender. He has those beautiful, soulful, amber eyes.  It's obvious that Henry wasn't dealt the best hand early in his life, and he probably spent most of his time outdoors. Our vet examined him thoroughly and ran all of the appropriate tests.  He believes Henry to be about 3 years old, but we are estimated between 3-5 just to be safe (his teeth indicate closer to 3).  He really just wants to be your couch buddy.  Do you have space?  If so, please fill out an adoption application located here:  Adopt (rrboxerrescue.org)May 4, 2024, 12:23 am

Story
Pete is a 2.5 year old male Must be an only dog Meet Pete! Isn't he a hunk!?!?!?! Pete came to us from the Riverside shelter. He has been with us since just before Thanksgiving and we have gotten to know a lot about him. &#226&#128&#139 Pete is a tender hearted guy who just wants to snuggle and love his humans. He is very affectionate with people he knows, but it's obvious he's had his heart broken in his past, so he is very guarded with his heart. He needs humans who are patient and let him love you slowly (we're talking probably within an hour, not just during a 20 minute meet and greet) He takes a little bit of time to get comfortable with new people and dogs. He is currently fostered with a lot of dogs. He co-exists with them just fine and is relatively indifferent to them...but he seems to be having some problems being indifferent on his meet and greets, when it comes to other dogs. It's as if he suddenly gets nervous, so going slow and doing everything right is a must! He needs a home with no other dogs. He is definitely potty trained and very well mannered. He will definitely be on Santa's nice list. He is crate trained, but he is so good that his foster mom doesn't crate him. He does great with kids but due to his behavior around other dogs, we are not comfortable placing him with kids at this time.    He really wants to be home for the holidays. Is that your home? If so, please fill out an app and set up a meet and greet. He would make a great apartment dog. As he is not a barker!   Available from R&R Boxer Rescue:  Pete (rrboxerrescue.org)May 4, 2024, 12:23 am

Story
Amora is 4-5 years old and weighs approximately 60 pounds. She is active and playful, but does have her calm moments. She LOVES to swim and would do well in a home with a pool. She is playful and likes tug-of-war and fetch. She is fully house-broken. She is working on leash-training. She is a good with kids and very sweet with her family. Amora is as loyal as can be. She is dog selective and would not be a good candidate to bring to dog parks/beaches. She does well with her foster brother Gunner, a 120-pound cane corso. She cannot be with cats or small dogs. She is a smart pup and knows a few commands: come, stay, go, out, leave it, sit. Amora and Gunner would make a wonderful pair, but do not have to be adopted together. Her adoption fee is $325 and covers the cost of her spay, all core vaccines (Rabies and Distemper/Parvo), microchip and microchip registration. The adoption fee for her and Gunner as a pair will be $650. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an application, available on our website, poochmatch.com, under the adoption tab and please read the paragraphs below for more details on our process. If this listing is still posted, we are still accepting applications for him/her. We do not do out-of-state adoptions on highly adoptable dogs; we would only consider out-of-state adoptions for dogs that prove hard-to-place locally. We cannot hold dogs, please submit your application when you are ready to adopt. UPDATE: ADOPTION EVENTS CANCELLED DUE TO PANDEMIC AND SOCIAL DISTANCING. If you are interested in meeting any Poochmatch dog at our weekly adoption event on Saturdays at the Petsmart in Yorba Linda, CA (5521 Mirage St.) between 1-5 PM, please fill out an application from our website, poochmatch.com, and submit it no later than 11 AM on Fridays. Upon receipt AND approval, the dog you are interested in meeting will be made available to meet on a Saturday. Due to the high volume of dogs and puppies in our foster homes, it is impossible to bring them all every Saturday. The only way to ensure that the dog that you are interested in will be at the adoption event is to FILL OUT AN APPLICATION AND BE APPROVED. Otherwise, we cannot guarantee that the dog you are interested in will be at our adoption event. If you cannot make the time frame of our events, appointments can be made at another time and location solely at the discretion of the foster parent. Please understand that private appointments will be coordinated to meet the convenience of the foster parent/transporter. We cannot hold dogs, please submit your application when you are ready to adopt. All adoption fees cover the mandatory and non-negotiable spay/neuter, rabies, microchip, microchip registration, full sets of core vaccinations (rabies and 1 set of distemper/parvo for adults, 4 for puppies) and deworming. Adoption fees vary based on age, breed, size and the costs incurred on the dog's behalf by us i.e. medical, behavioral training, etc. and they range from $225-$495. COVID-19 PROCEDURE: In an effort to create a safe environment for our potential adopters and our staff, we have changed our protocols and procedures during these difficult times. Starting immediately, our procedures will change from what’s written on our website and other social media platforms. Our weekly adoption event at the Petsmart in Yorba Linda is temporarily cancelled due to COVID-19 and social distancing. The only way to meet one of the dogs/puppies we have available for adoption is through completion of our adoption application through our website, poochmatch.com, before 11 AM on Fridays. On Fridays when we review the applications, we will pick the best fit for each dog or puppy applied for and coordinate mutually agreeable appointment times for the applicants who are approved that week. Private appointments are currently only scheduled on Wednesday, Thursday or Saturday of each week. Masks or bandanas are mandatory; faces must be properly covered. With the overwhelming desire of the public to adopt at this time, we have received as many as 30 applications for one dog in just one week. Working with a staff of volunteers, we are only able to reach out on Fridays to the people we have approved to adopt. If you have not heard from us by Friday, we have selected a different applicant. If you have multiple dogs/puppies that you are interested in, please indicate each dog/puppy of interest on the application at that time so we don’t rule you out for another dog/puppy available for adoption. Please understand, we have an influx of texts, phone calls and emails that makes it impossible to get to each and every one of you. Not just for adoption interest, but also from veterinarians, people who must relinquish dogs, people who have found a stray dog in need of pick up, etc. We are currently not in need of fosters. Due to the fact that there is such a high demand, we are sticking with strict protocol to not adopt out of Southern California. We apologize for this inconvenience and difficulty to be able to get in touch with us while there is an overwhelming desire and demand to adopt at this time. We appreciate your understanding and patience as we navigate through these difficult times with every intention to keep the public and our staff safe.

Story
The most wonderful, gentle, tolerant and qualm temperament ever. A really 'good' dog. . . meaning she is well behaved around her bunk mates and never causes trouble. This lovely creature is thought to have been dumped at a local park where dogs are commonly abandoned. Frightened, it took almost one week to catch her and what a beautiful catch she is! She’s acclimating quickly to her new environment thanks to a loving foster mom. If this listing is still posted, we are still accepting applications. We do not do out-of-state adoptions. Story
*courtesy post* Kona is 5 years old and is a bit hearty at 70 pounds. She'd do well to lose a couple pounds, and luckily, she loves to go on walks and play! She is an active pup, but not overly so. She enjoys going on walks, hikes, and playing in water. She doesn't mind going camping either! However, if you'd prefer to stay home, Kona is right there with you. She'd be equally as happy to play in a yard with some doggy toys. She would love to lay on the couch with you, or stay by your feet if you're working from home or relaxing. She adores belly scratches too! She'd love to sleep in your bed at night, right next to you if possible, or simply being in the same room will make her happy. Kona LOVES people and hasn't met a person she doesn't love. She is very friendly with humans! She knows how to use a dog door, and while she prefers to be inside while her family is home, she will pop outdoors during the day to sunbathe. Kona was found as a stray ~6 month old puppy. She has lived happily and healthily with her mom, dad, and canine sister, but as time went on, Kona and her sister haven't gotten along well. Her parents, for the safety of both dogs, have heartbreakingly decided to find a more suitable home for Kona where she can be the only dog in her household. She is loved very much and will make an excellent companion as a solo-dog. Kona is a very good dog: sweet, well-mannered, house-trained, affectionate. She simply requires a home where she can be the only canine light of your life and receive all of the love! Her adoption fee is $295. As a courtesy posting, much of the procedures we would usually provide have already been taken care of by the owner(s) relinquishing. Thus, this dog's adoption fee will generate a small surplus to assist in subsidizing the veterinary bills of other dogs in our care who require more in terms of what an average adoption fee would cover (i.e. broken legs, lump biopsies and removal, dental, teeth extractions, senior dog blood tests, professional grooming, etc). If this listing is still posted, we are still accepting applications. We do not do out-of-state adoptions. We do not hold dogs, please submit your application when you are ready to adopt.
