Story

Bonnie Bertha was saved from death row at the shelter. She has been in a great foster home with two other large dogs and is doing so well - being the perfect dog! Good leadership by her foster people have helped her leash train well, and she walks nicely and politely past other dogs. She loves being active, and being with people. Bertha wants to say hi to everyone, and is starting to understand that (at a slimmed down 65 lbs) she is larger than she thinks (so may sometimes barrels through you playfully out of shear joy of interacting with you). Playing fetch with her for a few minutes before a walk makes walking a charm, and she listens well to strong direction as she loves to please. She has exhibited over excitement when seeing a cat so would be best if there are no cats in the home. Older/bigger kids would be okay as, due to her size, she might knock little ones down while playing. She has been in foster with small dogs and as well as medium to larger dogs in the home, all of whom are polite and dog friendly, and is respectful to all. When she understands she is part of "the pack" there is much harmony. A great home for her would be one with a yard where she can run around and expend some energy, and can be with other dog-friendly, confident dogs who she can join as part of the pack. Bonnie is looking for her forever home and will be the most loyal companion. She is estimated to be 6 yrs of age. Story

Boss Hog Lou is one of the 5 puppies that Mama Sweet Caroline successfully delivered on June 15 after being rescued from a canyon, heavily pregnant and fending for herself. Only 3 days after her rescue she gave birth via C section to Lou and the other 4 puppies shown. Lou and his brothers are thriving under her excellent care and are ready to meet potential adopters or fosters now. All are typical friendly, playful, healthy and alert puppies and just starting to exhibit their personalities. Mama Caroline is a wonderful, friendly, sweet natured girl so likely her pups have taken on some of those wonderful traits. The rescue will cover all necessary vaccinations and neuter (when the puppies are old enough). Since all 5 puppies are indoors bound due to not having all their vaccinations yet, they are using pee pads and likely need an adoptive or foster home where someone is home most of the day, or not gone for more than 3 hours until they are older.
