Meet Penelope – the bravest cuddlebug you'll ever meet! Penelope is one of the sweetest souls we’ve ever rescued, and she’s finally ready to find her forever home. After enduring unimaginable trauma early in life, Penelope landed in a shelter where she was placed on the euthanasia list due to overcrowding. Thankfully, we were able to step in just in time and begin her journey to healing. During her initial veterinary assessment, we discovered something heartbreaking — Penelope was missing her tongue. We’ll never know exactly what happened, but from that moment on, it became our mission to help her heal, both physically and emotionally. Now, months later, Penelope is thriving in foster care and full of love to give. She adores people — especially kids! She loves following little ones around to see what they’re up to, and being a part of playtime is her favorite. She’s a total cuddlebug who wants nothing more than to snuggle up with her people. When she’s not curled up with you, she enjoys sunbathing in the yard or snoozing peacefully in her crate. Penelope is also a social butterfly with other dogs — both big and small! She lives with two canine foster siblings and absolutely lights up when friends come over for playdates. While she prefers the energy of larger dogs for more active play, she’s gentle and respectful with smaller pups, too. The only thing on her “no thanks” list? Cats. You might be wondering about her care needs — especially with her missing tongue. Thankfully, it’s very manageable! She eats “mini meatballs” twice a day and has made amazing progress, transforming from underweight and frail to strong, healthy, and absolutely beautiful. Adopt Gemma! Gemma is a ~1-year-old, 40 lb girl who is sweet, happy, playful and truly loves everyone she meets! We rescued her from the shelter where she had a paw injury, but now she is fully healed and ready for her forever home! She’s still very much a puppy and is always ready to play. Gemma is curious about everything and loves following her people around the house to make sure she doesn’t miss a thing. She loves her toys, chew toys and being part of whatever her family is doing. Gemma is potty trained, crate trained, knows sit and is working on her leash skills and house manners. She can get a little overly excited when showing her people just how much she loves them, but she’s learning! She’s shown playful excitement around other dogs and could likely enjoy having a doggie friend, but would also be happy soaking up all the attention as an only dog. She does have some prey drive with neighborhood bunnies, so we’re unsure about cats. Gemma LOVES kids and has been enjoying life with her foster family’s 3-year-old. Since she’s still a rambunctious pup learning her manners, slightly older kids may be an even better match. Gemma would thrive with an active family who will continue her training, keep her busy and embrace her silly, loving personality. She’s such a sweet girl and is ready to find her forever family! When he was found tied and locked to a tree, we knew we had to save him!💔 Brisket is settling in nicely at his foster's home and his personality is starting to shine! Despite what he has been through, he is quickly becoming more comfortable with human touch and affection and he is even discovering how amazing snuggling can be! Brisket is fully potty-trained, sleeps soundly through the night in his crate, and is quickly learning his manners. Like many young dogs, he is still learning his boundaries and has some puppy tendencies like chewing, so he will need a home prepared to continue his training, provide appropriate chew toys, and give positive reinforcement. He is very treat and food motivated so this will help with his training! Brisket has so much love to give!
