Story
Percolating with puppy-like pep, 4.5-year-old Pete is over the moon in his foster home! The 41-pound brindle beauty, so sweet and so social, loves snuggling with his foster mom, “smushing” his face into hers, resting his head on her and rolling over for belly rubs. Not to mention splaying out on his back when he’s truly relaxed. His foster mom also refers to him as a “canine security blanket” because he puts all of his weight against you when snuggling. Agile and athletic, he also loves playing with other dogs of similar size, and has learned, over time, to read their cues and respect their boundaries. Passionate about chasing his squeaky Kong toy during the games of fetch he enjoys in the backyard, he also enjoys going for long daily walks, walking well on his leash, and should his attention wander, he’s easily distracted with treats. Having his cherry eyes fixed recently, Pete’s in a cone and learned to use it as a scoop to throw snow in the air! Motivated by food, toys and love, Pete is eager to please and easy to teach, comes when called, and currently knows “sit” and “no.” While he eats and sleeps in his crate, he freely roams the house when his foster mom is out and greets her excitedly whenever she comes home. Almost fully house-trained and at work on his manners, Pete will thrive in an adoptive home, preferably with another playful pup and older children, that will perfect his manners, complete his training, including his commands, and keep him both active and adored fur-ever.  See additional photos and videos of Pete here.   Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask that you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application received in the order they're submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails). If your home sounds like a good match for you and the pet, we will connect you with our dogs' foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a "meet and greet" is set up. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to finalize the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $375.  Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all DAPP boosters after adoption. Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for any rabies vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls at this time. PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member! Story
0324048 - You know how some rescue dogs are just so grateful to have been rescued? That's Pablo 100%! He came from a New Mexico shelter after he was found as a stray. Pablo did have a chip and was adopted from the Ruidoso shelter-BUT the number was disconnected and AC went to the address on file and no one lived there anymore. It appears this sweet little guy may have been intentionally dumped to fend for himself. He wasn't thriving as a street dog, he is far too kind and sweet and his skinny body bears testament to that fact. Pablo is safe in foster now and looking forward to happier days and plentiful food bowls. He is about 45 lbs and looks like a boxer/pitbull mix and around 1-2 years old. He loves playing with other dogs who want to play and respects the older dogs who don't. Pablo is house trained but sometimes will mark but we are working on that ans hoping it will improve now that he is neutered.  He also doesn't mind being in the kennel while you are gone or to sleep at night. He has a very loving disposition and his little crooked face and snaggletooth make him extra cute. Pablo also walks great on lead and enjoys meeting and greeting people on the trail.  He does need a bit of work on not counter surfing but since he was starving on the street we will give him a bit of slack. Apply to meet this little doll today at www.sloppykisses.org/adoptions! ##2014650##

HOMEOWNERSHIP REQUIRED!!! Exquisite brindle beauty in search of a loving family to call my own! Hello there, I'm Winter—a name that contrasts my sunny and warm disposition! Considering a puppy but aiming to bypass the trials of potty training, biting, chewing, and crate training? Well, you're in luck, because that's exactly who I am! I offer the best of both worlds. At around a year old, I retain some playful puppy moments while boasting full mastery of house training and crate etiquette. With a modest weight of about 40lbs, I am wonderfully sized for easy management. Working from home? I'm content to be your quiet and steadfast companion, never straying into mischief. Crating during the day? That's totally fine by me—I actually enjoy my crate! If you're looking for a low-key Netflix buddy, I'm your snuggle partner, ready to join you for some cozy viewing. Let me showcase my signature moves: my exuberant full-body tail wags, an endless supply of affectionate kisses, and my endearing tippy tap dance that I break out when my excitement peaks! Am I social? Absolutely! Following a proper introduction, I get along splendidly with other dogs, and the idea of having a playmate to wrestle with fills me with joy! Here are my stats: I boast a foundation in basic training and have an eagerness to please that's hard to match. Car rides are a breeze for me, and I handle them like a true champ. My health status is excellent—I'm spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, and heartworm negative. I'm primed and ready to find my forever home. Could that be with you? Take the next step and apply to meet me today! Adoption fee includes the following: Spay/Neuter Rabies Vaccination Distemper / Parvo Vaccines (includes series of 3 for puppies) Bordetella Microchip with prepaid lifetime registration Deworming ##1753250##

Story
HOMEOWNERSHIP REQUIRED!!!  Classic, sophisticated, and years of experience being a good girl, I'm Miracle! As a mature 9-year-old boxer/lab mix, I have many wonderful gifts for my new family. I hope you will read about me and give me the opportunity to meet you and show you how special I am. I am a graduate of a wonderful and comprehensive dog training program, where I learned all of my basic commands (and a few fancy ones, too) so I could be fully prepared to be the best girl I can be for my new home! I walk amazingly well on a leash, and I love checking out the neighborhood of my foster home with my foster sister, but I can also be 100% couch potato. I am fully crate trained and can sleep all night in my crate (full disclosure: my favorite spot is to sleep snuggled up to my 13-year-old human foster sister). My ideal home would be one with lots of love. I love attention, pets, snuggles. Keeping up with my amazing training skills is easy as I am very food motivated! I am currently fostered in a home with one other dog, and I have become BFF's with her. Through proper introductions, I get along well with other dogs. I love my foster sibling and would do well with another dog similar in size to me who also likes to wrestle and play (please check out my videos). I am a lover, not a barker, with such a sweet disposition that everyone loves. My ideal home can absolutely include older children, as I do love kids! Due to my lack of awareness of size, I could unintentionally knock over little ones. My foster home has a 13-year-old girl who lets me sleep on her bed, and I happily greet all her friends who come to visit! All her friends say I’m their favorite! All in all, I’m a very easygoing, happy girl who wants a family to call my own! If that sounds like you, I hope to meet you soon! Adoption fee includes the following: Spay/Neuter Rabies Vaccination Distemper / Parvo Vaccines (includes series of 3 for puppies) Bordetella Microchip with prepaid lifetime registration Deworming ##1174512##
