Now 9 years young, she’s still full of puppy energy: super playful, hyper, and incredibly active — she loves zoomies, chasing toys, and turning every walk into an adventure! 🐶✨ She’s the most affectionate, loyal companion you could ask for, always ready for cuddles after playtime and quick to make you smile with her goofy antics. And yes, she’s fully kennel/crate trained — she sees her crate as her cozy safe space for relaxing or when her humans are away, which makes life easier for everyone. Her one little quirk? He completed a 2-week training to help with some behaviors from being in a shelter most of his life- difficulty meeting new people, etc. He will need a patient owner to continue his training & Charlie's Place will pay for training as part of his adoption. He knows his basic commands, loves going on hikes & exploring & playing fetch! He is loveable & affectionate and has been getting along well with other dogs with proper introductions. What we know: Transferred from Fresca Fund / Family PetCare in For Worth, Texas at approximately 9 months old. China entered a shelter with a crushed pelvis on approx 12/18/25 and was immediately scheduled for euthanasia due to her injuries. She was pulled from the shelter and rehabbed, medically cleared. From the foster: Meet China 💕🐾 China is a fun-loving, energetic girl who’s always ready for her next adventure! She absolutely loves to play and does great with other dogs, making her a wonderful companion for a home with furry friends. Chew toys are her favorite, and she’s always happy to keep herself entertained with a good one. China enjoys going on walks and exploring the world around her. She’s still learning her leash manners and can get a little excited (who can blame her?), but with consistency and patience, she’ll continue to improve. Believed to be 2-3 years old. Axel was adopted by his foster but ultimately determined their home was not prepared to take on a dog. From the foster: Axel is a very goofy puppy who loves to cuddle and play, he knows a few tricks including sit, stay, kennel, and spin, he’s also been working on his manners when it comes to doors. He is potty trained and has good house manners but will have an accident when he gets too excited or when meeting new people (he’s working on it). He can get a little mouthy when he is excited so we try to keep him as calm as possible when meeting new people. Axel does exceptionally well in a crate and he is very food motivated which makes training that much easier! Axel is smart, food-motivated, and eager to please. He knows how to sit and absolutely loves walks. He’s a high-energy dog who needs daily exercise, but he also settles nicely and can be very calm. He’s an excellent car passenger—often riding shotgun with one paw on the armrest and happily napping. Axel is a total Velcro dog who loves being near his people. He’ll follow you from room to room, help with chores, snuggle, or simply curl up at your feet. He craves affection and gives it right back. He has shown instances of being protective of his people with other dogs, so he still needs more guidance and correction with that sometimes. In general, he can be selective with other dogs so while he is not necessarily bad with them, introductions are very important. We’ve listed Axel as good with kids 10 and up because he gets excited bursts of energy where he’s a little rambunctious and would be a risk for knocking over younger children, and because during times of excitement, he will sometimes initiate play by grabbing hands and arms lightly in his mouth. [UPDATE]: Axel is very anxious meeting dogs at the rescue, less so outside of the rescue. What we know: May was surrendered to her owner's vet clinic after owner-requested euthanasia due to medical needs was denied. May had bilateral TPLO surgery to stabilize her back legs on November 17th. Her surgeon said she’s healing a little slower than expected but he’s not worried at this point. She will probably need another few weeks to fully heal but otherwise she’s in the clear! May is fostered with other dogs and is very well-socialized. From the foster: Miss Maizee (or as she is informally known as, Miss Maizee Moo Cow) is the sweetest and sassiest 4 year old in the world. If you’re looking for the best couch potato who’s ready to eat just about anything, this is your girl. She isn’t one to share her favorite treats or toys with her foster brother (canine) and sister (canine), but doesn’t mind a cuddle or two. With that in mind, she would probably do best in a home where she’s the only pup and there are no kids. She does great on a leash and does not pull, but instead takes her time smelling all the flowers. Miss Maizee's favorite things include suckling on blankets, car rides and snuggles. She’ll sleep in a crate but doesn’t care to be left alone - still learning to be comfortable in a crate. With a little training and some meds, her separation anxiety can be trained!
