Story
Hardy is a lover of his person. He was pulled from a kill shelter in North Carolina and by the third day he had already formed an attachment to "mom". He was underweight when pulled from the shelter so we are working to help him gain wait. He has started learning sit and down and has almost mastered these commands. He is dog selective and walks very well on a leash. Please email nchappytailssanctuary@gmail.com for more information. We do require an adoption application, however we are a non judgmental rescue.

Story
Reeve is a sweet, older gal who is working on getting her outside to be as beautiful as the inside!! She may look grumpy, however, Reeve is incredibly sweet!! Her little nubby tail is constantly wagging. Reeve is calm, well-mannered, and goes with the flow. She sleeps all night in her crate and has had no accidents in the house. She enjoys short walks around the neighborhood and never pulls on her leash. She hadn't met a meal she didn't like yet! She sits patiently for treats and shows no food aggression. Reeve enjoys snuggling on the couch and is fairly low energy. She currently shares the household with two dogs and two cats. No aggression with any! Reeve doesn't really seem to show any interest in other animals so she would do fine as an only dog. Reeve has been so sweet with everyone she has met, but a home with older children would be best, due to her age and energy level.

Story
DOB 09/22/2021. This girl loves snuggles more than any other dog her foster mom has met, and will find a way to touch you if it’s possible! Mary Jane says, “If I fits ,I sits!” If you are looking for a 40 lb lapdog that is dog friendly and ohhh so cuddly, this young gal may be paw-fect for you. Mary Jane is a petite gal with a lot of love to give!!   Mary Jane is fostered with multiple other dogs. She needs a quiet, single family home with a confident fur friend to help her navigate the world. A home with fenced in yard and another dog to play with is what Mary Jane is looking for!! She LOVES to go on sniffaris in quiet places and to play tug-o-war with her human or dog friends.  No kitties please just not her jam.   In order for Mary Jane to continue making progress with her training, she needs a family/owner that will continue taking her out and continue to build her confidence in her new world. Mary Jane is fostered by her trainer. Her trainer is offering 3 free training sessions to her adoptive family so her family can continue her positive training at home.   She is a boxer mix, and 100% adorable. Mary Jane says she ready to meet her awesome fur-ever family and whoever adopts her, won't ever regret it!   As part of Mary Jane's $250 adoption fee, she is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet girl, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Mary Jane, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org ##1448773##

Story
Hi, it's me Beans. I wanted to tell you about me thru the eyes of my foster mom. Beans is a great, super sweet, well behaved dog. He is housetrained, crate trained ( sleeps well in crate at night). He knows sit, is very treat motivated (but watch those fingers he really likes food). He likes to cuddle and be with his people. He also walks well on leash. He gets along with my older female dog ( but very slow introductions with any dogs is a must to have him adjust well, him or any new dog). We do not know how he is with cats or children at this time. He is an inside dog and should not be crated all day. He is a youngster and needs lots of exercise. An ideal home would be with a stay at home person. Rides very nicely in the car. He has been neutered, up to dates on all vaccines and microchipped. He is heartworm positive but please don't let heartworms deter you from taking him home, they are completely treatable and non contagious. Friends of Wake County Animal Center is generously providing a $400 sponsorship toward treatment. If you have any more questions about me you can email my foster mom at dogfosterkim@gmail.com Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 61.5 Age: 2yrs 1mths 1wks

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Halle Bailey is a coconut - hard on the exterior but sweet once she opens up. She is initially reserved and a bit skittish (strange noises and movements make her uncomfortable), but will become less tense given time and once trust has been built. Something in her past has led her to not be immediately trusting, so patience will be of utmost importance. Once that trust is built, she will make some human a very loyal companion.A volunteer took her home for a vun vacation. Halle Bailey was a wonderful guest. She sat in the office while the volunteer worked. She loves rope toys. She just laid on the couch and chilled. She seems like she might be potty trained. She was very respectful of the house. Was so gentle with the volunteer. She loved the car ride. Sat like a perfect lady. She was content just laying on the couch and playing with her rope toys and nyla bones. She also loved to play in the backyard. During a recent playgroup session, she was stiff and intensely stared down her playmates with no interest in playing; thus, the 'no other dogs' label. If you're interested in learning more about her, please reach out to our Volunteer Matchmakers at wcac.matchmaker@gmail.com with the subject line " Halle Bailey 243684".She is up to date on vaccinations, flea/tick, and heartworm prevention, is microchipped, and will be spayed prior to going home. If you have cats, we recommend slow introductions over time. If you have children in your home, we recommend supervision between children at all times. Story
Morgan Pawlen is the bestest boy. He was pulled from a NC kill shelter. It is clear he had a family before as he is very housetrained. He sits quietly when left alone somewhat,. He may bark or whine a bit but it's not excessive. Morgan needs someone who will let him cuddle, play with him, and have a large fenced in yard for him to do his zoomies.

Story
From her current owner- We adopted Mochi in 2023, we are in a situation where our time is being heavily shifted to other life events and while it kills me to rehome her I want her to live a life of excitement and adventure. She loves our three year old, she's our older bostons best friend, loves to cuddle in bed, stays at your side and has been house / crate trained (with occasional accidents and has fallen out of her routine with our schedule. She cues by barking she needs to pee typically.) She loves to travel with owners (beach, mountains). She boards well at facilities too and loves our local daycare. Her skin is sensitive and we had her tail medically removed due to a case of "happy tail". She is a super happy dog who needs time to play outdoors, requires more attention than I can offer her. We will include bones, harness, leash, Memory foam bedding, and any other items
