Meet Matcha aka matcha latte Age: estimated around 1-2 years old. Weight: 40 lbs. Breed: boxer mix. This sweet girl was found abandoned in a car with another dog and was dangerously underweight. Now Matcha is a healthy, medium sized dog and she’s learning what a good life looks like. Even with her rough start to life she’s still a very happy, loving, carefree pup. Matcha loves playing with other dogs and snuggling on the couch (especially under the blanket). She’s obsessed with all toys but anything with a squeaker is her favorite. Toys don’t last long with her so be prepared to clean up fluff but she will leave your shoes/pillows alone. We’re learning that Matcha does have some fear based reactivity when meeting new people but once you earn her trust she’s a total love bug so say goodbye to personal space. She tends to be more fearful of men which leads us to believe she may have previously been abused but if you give her some time, treats or a new toy she’ll eventually be your best friend. Matcha doesn’t love the vet although I can’t say I blame her. Previous appointments have required muzzling, calming meds and mild sedation but it’s possible she could overcome her fears with time. Matcha is crate trained and potty trained but she does think baby gates are her own personal hurdles to jump. Matcha would probably do best in a home with older children due to some of her puppy tendencies and she would like another dog but one isn’t required. If you feel capable of giving Matcha the time, patience and support needed along with a fraction of the love she’ll give you, please fill out an application to meet this sweet girl so she can finally have a loving family of her own. He loves people – toys – other dogs – food and CAR RIDES!!! Jimmy is completely housebroken. He is good in a crate and has had no accidents when foster mom is at work. He sometimes makes dinosaur noises for the first few minutes at bedtime, but then sleeps through the night quietly. He likes chew sticks or a stuffed Kong when at home alone. Jimmy is amazing with other dogs (after the proper introduction of course). Other dogs can provoke or take food and he does not react. He can get too excited and try to play too rough, but settles down if you stop the game. Jimmy would prefer living with other dogs to entertain him Jimmy is a BIG fan of chew toys and tearing the squeaker from stuffies. He is always carrying something around. He will lay in the sunshine chewing on sticks or toys for an hour. He will need guidance that not everything is his to chew up. Initially Jimmy was afraid of cats but that was early on. He backs away with respect if they tell him no so would likely do well with them. We are not 100% certain about children but he wags his tail when he sees them at the park. His excitement is his biggest challenge so perhaps older children would be a better fit. Jimmy loves outings, but is strong on leash initially. Now that he is healthy he needs more work on obedience. He has not been reactive seeing dogs, people, or bicycles on the trail. Regular exercise will be very important. A yard and a buddy would be awesome for him! Jimmy is 45 pounds, neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, and fully vaccinated. This handsome boy does not have an ounce of meanness in his body. He has been through a lot and remains kinder than kind. With time and training he will be the best friend someone could ever have.
