Meet Matcha aka matcha latte Age: estimated around 1-2 years old. Weight: 40 lbs. Breed: boxer mix. This sweet girl was found abandoned in a car with another dog and was dangerously underweight. Now Matcha is a healthy, medium sized dog and she’s learning what a good life looks like. Even with her rough start to life she’s still a very happy, loving, carefree pup. Matcha loves playing with other dogs and snuggling on the couch (especially under the blanket). She’s obsessed with all toys but anything with a squeaker is her favorite. Toys don’t last long with her so be prepared to clean up fluff but she will leave your shoes/pillows alone. We’re learning that Matcha does have some fear based reactivity when meeting new people but once you earn her trust she’s a total love bug so say goodbye to personal space. She tends to be more fearful of men which leads us to believe she may have previously been abused but if you give her some time, treats or a new toy she’ll eventually be your best friend. Matcha doesn’t love the vet although I can’t say I blame her. Previous appointments have required muzzling, calming meds and mild sedation but it’s possible she could overcome her fears with time. Matcha is crate trained and potty trained but she does think baby gates are her own personal hurdles to jump. Matcha would probably do best in a home with older children due to some of her puppy tendencies and she would like another dog but one isn’t required. If you feel capable of giving Matcha the time, patience and support needed along with a fraction of the love she’ll give you, please fill out an application to meet this sweet girl so she can finally have a loving family of her own. Athena's owner has developed medical concerns that is interfering with his ability to care for her anymore. She is a very sweet, affectionate dog with very high energy levels. Athena has not received much training from her previous owner and needs to learn to walk on a leash without pulling. She is currently crated during the day but plays well with a senior dog in the evening. Athena will have to be surrendered if we can't find a safe home for her quickly.

Bonded pair of sweet pooches mourning the murder of their master. A supporter of Paws and Prayers son was murdered on Monday, May 11. These were his babies. Lala, a female, is an 8 year old Boxer mix and Moses, a male, is a 10 year old husky mix. All that they know is that daddy left the house and never came back. They are sad and shaken by his absence. Their dad was brutally murdered by his girlfriend’s ex. We truly feel for his family. Clearly he did not deserve his life to end at the age of 31. And the grief for his orphaned dogs is only a small part of the horror that this family has experienced. He took good care of them. They are spayed and neutered and up to date on shots. If you are interested in fostering or adopting these two sweet babies - the hard work with them is done. They are a great bonded senior pair who just need a safe place to be loved for the rest of their lives. They don't chew, are house broken and live to please. Consider them to help out this family and give these dogs a loving end to their suddenly sad life story. Sweet Baby wants to be your companion! She is chill and low maintenance (for the most part haha) if she isn’t being forward soliciting pets and leaning into your legs when getting pets. She is happiest when she is interacting with humans. She loves being a ‘turtle’ for back scratches. She will kick her back legs in the air because the feeling of being scratched is soooooo good! At 10 years old, Baby still enjoys long walks and light jogging/nighttime runs. After that, you can find her wiped out on the couch (or her bed) snoring extremely loudly, sometimes even howling in her sleep. Must be a good dream! 😊 Baby’s favorite TV show is SpongeBob. She listens intently to his conversations. Cute! Baby loves meeting people. She goes up to everyone she meets hoping to get pets (or treats. Cheese is her favorite). When you come home from work. Baby likes to greet you at the door. She immediately solicits belly rubs and butt scratches. Some of Baby’s ‘dislikes’ are car rides (she gets anxiety), loud noises (mostly door buzzers), her nails getting clipped and most importantly when people stop petting her. Baby is about 10 years old, 90lb Boxer mix. Baby is looking for a family that can provide her with a calm, quiet environment for her beauty sleep yet active enough where she gets her daily walks/jogs. Baby is great with everyone. She is house trained. She isn’t destructive in the home when left alone. She whines for a little bit when people leave but she settles quickly. Baby previously lived with 2 cats. Her previous family moved away and left her in the apartment.
