Meet Vanna! Come meet Vanna in person, Saturday, 10/25 at our adoption event held at Crossroads Petco, 24413 Crenshaw Blvd, Torrance, CA from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. Vanna is a sweet, loving, playful Tortico (Tortoiseshell/Calico) kitty. She likes to rough house with her siblings and then taking a long nap. She loves noisy cat toys, the laser beam and her feathered wand. Vanna is dog friendly and will do well with a small, cat friendly dog. Vanna is up to date on her vaccinations, spayed and microchipped. If you would like to know more about VANNA, please contact her foster mom via email at - alikat52@yahoo.com. Calypso is a communicative calico who will play and play before conking out to take a deep snooze. Calypso talks to you and lets you know how she feels. She will always greet you with a happy stretch and chirp or meow. If she thinks you are ignoring her, she will seek you out and lay across your keyboard or between you and your backrest. She can self-entertain but adores interaction with her human or her preferred kitty mates. She loves ping pong balls which she soccer dribbles throughout the room. But wand toys are her preference - she chatters at feather toys! Calypso is a beautiful calico tuxedo with gold green eyes, an exotic profile, and a lot of black eyeliner! She has an energetic, dominant spirit and may do well as a solo cat or with another she can trust. Gorgeous Calypso has diva qualities with a sweet edge and needs an understanding calico guardian who she will reward with devotion.

Loves when you sing to her, but prefers to be in a very quiet relaxed environment for her all day naps.

The site was filled with heavy equipment and buzzing with dangerous activity. But Yoosol ran up to people meowing and rubbing against the director’s leg, as if saying, “Please take me with you!” The director couldn’t leave him behind, and that’s how he was rescued. 3. Personality and Behavior • With People: He likes people, but he may hiss at strangers if approached too quickly. Once familiar, he will show affection by snuggling and meowing sweetly. Get to know him, and you’ll fall for his charm. • With Cats: Gets along very well with other cats at the shelter. • Separation Anxiety: None. He doesn’t cling to people and usually seeks attention only when he wants something. • Litter: Uses tofu litter. • Grooming: Not a fan of nail trimming but tolerates it with treats. He loves brushing, but struggles a bit during baths. • Play: He loves fishing toys and balls, and can play for 2–3 hours non-stop! • Car Rides: No motion sickness during short trips. 4. Special Notes • Can do the “sit” command when treats are involved! • He’s food motivated and may try to eat human food, so supervision is needed. • Doesn’t like his belly or backside touched much. • Be cautious—he may try to eat treats with the plastic wrapper still on!

At the time of rescue, she was confined to a cage, hidden under a cloth. After discovering she remained in a nearby freezer, rescuers believe she was likely next in line to be slaughtered. Fortunately, she was saved in time and is now living safely in her foster home. 3. Basic Information * With People: Is naturally shy and cautious around strangers. Feels comfortable enough to bare her tummy and relax with familiar caregivers. Comes next to them when bored. Is still a little uncomfortable with pets or being picked up, but can do a nose greeting. * With Cats: Coexisted peacefully with other cats without any issues at our center. * Hygiene: Is still fearful of human touch, having a hard time in accepting it. To help manage her claws, multiple scratching posts have been placed throughout her space. Is being lightly brushed with a brush she is comfortable with. * Personality: Is timid and very cautious, but generally well-behaved. * Has a habit of scratching textured wallpaper (especially those with a rough, bumpy surface), so caution is needed. * Is particularly fearful of objects or hands moving toward her face. Gets extremely stressed at the veterinary clinic and needs to be sedated for examinations. After a visit to the vet, she is so distressed that she refuses to eat for three days.
