Born to a feral mom, they were carefully observed and introduced to human interaction from the moment their tiny paws could explore. At five weeks old, they found refuge in foster care, a place where they all began to flourish. Pepper's enchanting personality unfolded swiftly, and she became known for showering her foster family with love and affection. With a coat as soft and intricate as her character, Pepper is a vision of feline elegance. Her love for human connection is evident in her desire for snuggling up in laps, relishing in the warmth of pets and the joy of shared naps. Pepper's gentle spirit makes her an ideal companion for those moments of quiet bonding. Celeste and her siblings were dropped on our doorstep, in a cardboard box, as tiny babies. Her brothers were adopted as kittens, but Celeste and her sister (Cleo) struggled to adjust to the busy environment of our rescue, and became nervous around people. They have now been with us for 9 years, and we would love for someone to give these two a chance. Celeste is semi-feral and very fearful. She will come out, when she feels safe and her sister is nearby. She tolerates being petted, briefly, but will need time to feel fully comfortable. Sudden movements and loud noises scare her. She is part of a bonded pair with her sister, and they will need a quiet household with no dogs or children. Celeste is quiet, and shy, but so worthy of a home to call her own. We adopted Smaug back in April 2023 with another black cat from a different foster home. They warmed up fairly quickly and get along very well. We estimate him to be 2 (human) years old. Unfortunately, our lifestyle doesn't seem to do well for him as he is a very engaged cat. He loves attention and will let you know when he wants to play or lay on the couch or bed with you, even when you are in a meeting or busy. After many months of trying to find things that may keep him engaged or busy until his "humans" are free, it seems that he just really needs human affection and attention more often than we can provide. We are hoping to find Smaug an owner who will be able to give him the time and attention he needs. Smaug loves to play, but also will be bugging you when it's time to relax in the evening so he can lay on the couch with you HAHA. He enjoys looking outdoors and playing with a variety of toys with his human. He comes with a single cat carrier, toys, and a walking harness.
