Story
We adopted Cami from the Irvine Animal Shelter about 10 years ago. She is a super sweet, friendly and social calico cat. She is good with people (even visitors) and likes to be pet more than anything.. Once she gets to know you she is a little needy and will likely bond with one person. We think she is about 10 years old. She gets along with another cat in our hose but has not been around any dogs. Unfortunately, she has a habit of chewing wires and is currently chewing fabric despite having toys and another cat in the house which was introduced as a kitten to her about 5-6 years ago.

Story
Scarlett is the best mom! She’s the disciplinarian and a best foster mom to all the orphaned kittens. She plays with them, grooms them and also puts them in their place if need be! She’s good with other kitties and dogs. She’ll play with everyone Scarlett is being adopted through the San Gabriel Valley Animal Advocates. If you are interested in adopting Scarlett, please submit an adoption application at http://www.sgvaa.org and we will get back to you as soon as we can. Your adoption donation allows us to rescue the next kitty from the streets and pay for all their health and medical needs. Most of our adoptable pets live in loving foster homes. We can arrange meet-and-greets with our foster families, at our live-in habitats in the West Covina and El Monte Petcos, as well as at the Huntington Beach (Edinger) PetSmart. SGVAA is an all-volunteer, non-profit rescue organization serving the San Gabriel Valley area. For more information on how you can help your community, please visit: www.sgvaa.org Their Adoption Process If you are interested in any of our adoptable pets or have additional questions, please fill out an adoption application and we will get back to you as soon as we can. Since we are an all-volunteer organization, it may take us within 24-48 hours to respond. Our little fur babies are so adorable that sometimes we get multiple applications for one pet! So if the pet you are interested in is no longer available there is no need to worry! We have plenty of friends who are furry! As part of the adoption process, we screen each new potential owner, and do home visits to ensure that an animal and owner are a good match. Once your adoption application has been approved, we will have you fill out a Pet Promise Certificate (adoption contract) *SGVAA’s adoption donation allows us to rescue the next kitty from the streets and pay for all of their health and welfare needs (spay, neuter, shots, deworming, flea meds, microchip) *We also provide free home delivery of your new kitty/kitties! About This Rescue SGVAA is dedicated to the protection and humane treatment of pets in the San Gabriel Valley area. We encourage people to rescue a homeless animal instead of buying one. Our organization also educates the community on the importance of early vaccinations for fatal and easily preventable diseases. We also advocate spaying or neutering to reduce pet overpopulation. Once an animal is in our care we vaccinate all rescues against disease & provide needed health care, fight pet overpopulation by spaying or neutering all rescues, and provide lifetime shelter and care to any rescued animal that is not adopted. Come Meet Their Pets Most of our adoptable pets live in loving foster homes. For interested adopters, we can arrange meet-and-greets with our foster families, at our live-in habitats in the West Covina and El Monte Petcos, as well as at the Huntington Beach (Edinger) Petsmart. We also post pictures of our adorable kitties at sgvaa.org, our Facebook page and on Instagram!

Permanent Foster Needed for Smokey and Sunshine A senior couple could no longer care for their three cats, Sunshine, Smokey and Gloria, and surrendered them to AALOC. Sunshine is a domestic shorthair cat and is timid at first but with a little bit of patience she comes around easily. Once you build a bit of trust with Sunshine she is very friendly, loves attention and will follow you around curious about the things you are doing. Sunshine also enjoys food – this is not a picky eater cat but does require medication for arthritis. Sunshine has been at AALOC for several years and really needs a home. She is bonded to her best friend Smokey: they must be adopted together. Because of her colorings - blue/gray and tan patches on a white/cream fur background – we believe Sunshine is a dilute calico cat. Although dilute calico cats are not extremely rare, it is more difficult to find one than a standard calico with black and red patches on a white fur background. As a permanent foster you would be responsible for loving and caring for Smokey and Sunshine, taking them to vet appointments and making sure they receive their medications and are comfortable. AALOC would pay for all of Smokey and Sunshine’s vet visits, grooming, food and medications. Please submit an application to foster Sunshine and Smokey at www.AALOC.org. Once your application is reviewed and approved we will contact you to make an appointment to visit us at AALOC to meet Sunshine and Smokey and get to know them a bit.

Story
A volunteer was driving in Westminster and came across a cardboard box sitting underneath a parked truck with three kittens inside. A concerned neighbor had been feeding the kittens for a few weeks while trying to find them somewhere to go with no luck. He said the mother cat had been hit by a car a couple weeks earlier, and her kittens were left. All three kittens were out in the freezing, cold rain trying to fend for themselves. Unfortunately, this compassionate neighbor had too many animals to adopt them himself. Our vet confirmed they all had mites, mange, and giardia. All three issues have been successfully cured and Marco, Polo and Poly are ready to find new homes. Polo, a black, orange and white calico, is a bit timid at first but she will warm up with patience and gentle persuasion. She does enjoy playing with her brother Marco and if you would be willing to adopt two cats Marco and Polo would be a good pair of friends. They would complement each other and be best friends for life. Please apply to adopt Polo at www.AALOC.org. Once your application is reviewed and approved we will contact you to make an appointment to visit us at AALOC to meet Polo and get to know her a bit. Donation of $100 for cat adoption includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, and a microchip. Applications require a veterinary reference and home visit. We adopt to residents of Orange County, CA and surrounding areas. Please note: For families with children, we require children to be 10 years of age or older, although exceptions are made depending on the circumstances. For more information on adoption policies visit our cat adoption page at www.aaloc.org. Contact us by e-mail at aaloc@aaloc.org.

Story
Hi, I'm Fiddle. I'd like to be your best friend. My most favorite thing to do is eat with you! Just envision Lady and the Tramp, we can share a plate of spaghetti together every night. I love to cuddle up and get cozy. Taking naps with my foster family is my favorite too. I'm always baking up fresh biscuits. Whenever someone pets me, I turn into a purr machine immediately. I enjoy playing with my foster sister Harmonica! We have a real good time chasing each other and wrestling around. According to my foster family, I have a HUGE personality and i keep them laughing every day. I would really enjoy a home with humans that love to cuddle and a kitty friend to play with. I was found outside in a yard in Compton. They thought I was going to lose my eye, but with some really good medications, they were able to save it! It has some scarring on it, which is why I look a little funny, but it doesn't effect me at all! I wouldn't even know I had an issue with my eye if someone hadn't told me.

Story
Milkshake is a funny guy with a crooked jaw. We suspect he was kicked, which caused his jaw to break. He eats just fine, it just gives him some character! Actually, eating is his favorite hobby and we're pretty sure that's how he survived the streets. He's a little shy at first, but all you have to do is give him some pets or some snackies and he'll immediately start his purr motor and melt. He loves to roll around on your lap and head snuggles. If you really want to win him over, give him a piece of meat and he will will walk to the ends of the earth with you. He's a chatterbox who will let you know his every thought. His chirps are the cutest thing. Milkshake loves to eat, play, and be pet. He loves to make biscuits on a nice fuzzy blanket in your lap. He's a good boy! Milkshake needs a cat friend in the home because he is extremely energetic. He also gets along with dogs, but will not cuddle with them.
