Story
Meet Tippsie, an 8-year-old dilute tortie with a gentle soul! Tipssie’s world changed when her beloved owner from kittenhood, now facing advanced cancer, could no longer care for her. She is a little timid at first, but once she feels safe, she blossoms into a sweet loving companion. She loves head and chin rubs, brushing, and even gives the cutest little forehead bumps. Since moving to a foster home from our shelter, she is much more comfortable. Tippsie is a laid back girl. She spends her afternoons napping, like most kitties, then joins her foster family when they get home from work for some petting and attention. Though not a lap cat (yet), Tippsie enjoys being close to her fosters and lets them carry her around. Tippsie would do best in a calm, quiet home with understanding adopters who will let her settle in at her pace. In return, Tipssie will reward you with companionship, gentle affection, and a loyal presence by your side! To learn more about this kitty, please email adopt@catsrusrescue.org or submit an adoption application online at https://catsrusrescue.org/adopt/adoption-application All of our cats and kittens are rescues. They are mixed breed unless otherwise noted. If a cat or kitten is designated as a particular breed we do not have papers to verify the breed information. We assign breeds to our cats and kittens based on similar appearance, size, and temperament as described in the breed description of a purebred cat. Our adoption fee is $120.00 for kittens under 1 year (2 for $200), $100 for cats over 1 year (2 for $180), and $150 - $250 for exotic breed cats or kittens. We do not have our own spay/neuter clinic so the adoption fee we charge helps our rescue pay for a portion of vet fees incurred to prepare a cat or kitten for adoption. The adoption fee includes a wellness exam, spay or neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, FeLV and FIV testing (negative/negative unless otherwise noted), treatment for parasites (fleas, ticks, intestinal worms, ear mites), and microchipping.

Story
We’re searching for the right forever home for two wonderful cats, Daisy and Itsy, who mean the world to our family. They belong to my mom, who is no longer able to care for them due to advanced Alzheimer’s. These girls are truly her babies. She rescued Itsy as a tiny, critically ill kitten in a small village in Mexico and nursed her back to health. After my father passed away, my mom moved back to the DC area with Itsy and later adopted Daisy so she would have a companion—and they’ve been inseparable ever since. About them: Daisy (ginger, 5 yrs) – playful, curious, full of energy Itsy (tortoiseshell, 8 yrs) – sweet, sensitive, and gentle They are a bonded pair and truly thrive together, so we are hoping to keep them in the same home. They’re incredibly affectionate, social, and love being around people—total cuddle bugs who will happily follow you from room to room or curl up next to you on the couch. They do have mild chronic “sniffles" (a slight upper respiratory condition)

Story
ANNIE IS A COURTESY POST - IF INTERESTED, EMAIL INFO@PETEY&FURENDS.ORG Name: Annie Sex: Female Estimated Age: About 14 years old Best Guess for Breed: Calico Mix Weight: About 4 lbs Lives with and loves: All people (including kids!) Story: Annie is a beautiful, sweet senior Calico who was adopted in September 2025 from the Clarke County Animal Shelter. Unfortunately, our resident cat wasn't happy with the addition to our family, and we are reluctantly looking for a new home where she can be happiest. Annie has stage 2 chronic kidney disease which is being managed with a prescription diet and plenty of hydration (she loves her water fountain!). Chronic kidney disease will inevitably progress, but for now she is otherwise healthy, happy, and very active! Annie supposedly came from a house with other cats but they didn't get along (that's the extent of info the shelter could provide).  Because our resident cat was the dominant cat and aggressor with Annie, it's hard to guess how she would do with another cat. The safest placement would see her in a single-pet home. She has always been gentle with us, but we don't have first-hand experience on interactions with children.  Annie is chipped, up-to-date on vaccinations (September 2025 for all), and has had multiple senior panels performed.  If you think that Annie might be your perfect match, please email info@peteyandfurends.org.March 8, 2026, 4:15 pm

Story
My roommate and I found Luna about a year ago at a gas station. We’re both college students so we did our best in caring for her. She was shy at first but once she came out of her shell we found that she’s definitely a diva. She’s very cuddly but on her terms( if you’re sitting she’ll initiate first), but if you reach for her first she’ll playfully bite. She loves any form of scratch boards or scratching anything ( our sofa has suffered). She’s good with dogs and kids. We haven’t seen her interact with any cats so far. We love her but she’s home by herself most of the time and the camera we have in our house which shows her meowing for hours. We are looking for a place where someone could be more attentive to her :)

Story
Jubilee,3, was found as a pregnant stray and taken to a shelter where she gave birth to four kittens. The shelter reached out to Laurel Cats so that the family could be together in a loving foster home. Jubilee is a very sweet and a loving mother. All of her kittens but one have been adopted so she is ready to be in a forever home. Jubilee loves to be pet and will seek out attention. Her fur is so silky. She is beginning to play now that her mothering duties have lessened. She likes to sleep with her foster mom and is good about not awakening her. She would probably be best as the only cat. She has never been in a fight but she stares down the adult foster siblings until they run. ! She would be OK with a family of older children. Please consider adopting her with the remaining kitten, Crepe. We offer a discount when you adopt 2 together!
