Story
He is neutered, healthy, and well-trained. He is a loyal, protective, and affectionate dog who bonds closely with his people. He does well with adults and older children who understand how to respect a dog’s space. Unfortunately, he is not comfortable around young children, especially those who don’t understand boundaries. Because of this, we feel it’s safest and fairest for him to be placed in a home with no small children or with kids old enough to interact calmly and appropriately. He currently lives with another dog, but has no other socialization,so an only-dog home is strongly preferred to ensure the best transition and success for everyone involved. About him: • 6 years old • Male, neutered • Cane Corso • Loyal, protective, and loving • Does best in a calm, structured home • Needs a confident owner familiar with large or guardian breed We want him to thrive in a home where his needs and boundaries are fully respected.

Story
Hi, I’m Boris and I’m new to the rescue. I am currently decompressing and getting used to my foster family. Check back as my foster family learns more about me! Dog’s Name: Boris Location: Belleville, IL Date of Birth: 03/09/2021 Gender: Male Breed:Cane Corso Color: Blue Dog's Weight: Gets along with: Dogs?: All Dogs Cats?:  All Cats Kids?: Kids 8+ Training: Training: Leash trained: Walks loose on leash Crate/Kennel:  Goes into crate/kennel on command Potty trained: Indicates a need to potty and doesn’t have indoor accidents Car:  Rides Well in car Meet Borris Borris is a big-hearted boy with a classic Cane Corso personality—loyal, affectionate, and always keeping a watchful eye on his people. He’s a true cuddle bug who loves being close to his humans and will happily follow you from room to room just to stay by your side. Whether he’s sitting at your feet or standing nearby on “lookout duty,” Borris takes his role as your companion and protector very seriously. One of Borris’s favorite pastimes is playing fetch. Bring out a ball and he’s instantly ready for action! When playtime is over, he’s perfectly content settling in for a good nap or snuggling up with his favorite people. He also rides very well in the car and enjoys getting out for adventures. On a recent trip to Tractor Supply, Borris did wonderfully—politely walking up to people and happily accepting pets and attention. Borris gets along great with the Great Dane in his foster home and absolutely LOVES cats, which is a rare and wonderful trait for such a big guy. He doesn’t necessarily need another dog in the home, but he has shown he can coexist nicely with other pets. During his veterinary visit, Borris was understandably scared and nervous, especially when being handled around his hind end while receiving his rabies vaccination. Once he had a moment to settle, he allowed the exam to continue. In his foster home, Borris has not shown this behavior and is very comfortable with his foster mom. His reaction appeared to be related to the stress of an unfamiliar environment and handling, which can be common for dogs in new situations. orris would do best with an adopter who has experience with large guardian breeds like Cane Corsos and understands their loyal, protective nature. He has shown interest in being around children middle school age and older, and while he hasn’t been around younger children in his foster home, he previously spent time with a family where he would walk their children to the bus stop and wait until they got safely on the bus—showing just how devoted he can be. Borris is looking for a confident, loving home that will appreciate his loyalty, continue his training, and give him the structure he needs to thrive. In return, you’ll gain a devoted companion who will love you deeply, keep you company wherever you go, and always be ready for a game of fetch. Hi, I’m Eloise and I’m new to the rescue.  I'm on a medical hold while I receive some needed treatment.  Soon I'll be ready for my forever home so please click adopt to get your application approved. Dog’s Name: Eloise Location: Oswego, Il Date of Birth: 02/21/2018 Gender: Female Breed: Cane Corso Color: Blue Brindle Dog's Weight: 100 Gets along with: Dogs?: Yes, large and medium only.  NO SMALL DOGS! Cats?: No Kids?: Yes Training: Leash Trained - walks loose leash Crate Trained - goes to crate/kennel on command Potty Trained - indicates need to potty and doesn't have indoor accidents Car - Rides well in the car Meet Eloise Miss Eloise may be a golden girl, but don’t let that fool you—she has plenty of personality! As she has decompressed and settled into her foster home, her spunky and lovable side has really started to shine. While she may be a little slow to get moving at times, Eloise knows exactly what she wants… and she isn’t shy about letting you know! Eloise believes she deserves the royal treatment and will happily remind you when it’s time for attention. If you sit down, she takes that as her official invitation for ear scratches and affection. In fact, if you’re holding something in your hands, she may gently nudge it out of the way so you can focus on the important task at hand—loving her. Her sweet, demanding charm makes her impossible not to adore. She absolutely loves being outside and enjoys leisurely strolls where she can take in the sights and smells at her own pace. Eloise is happiest when she can relax near her people, soak up affection, and enjoy the simple pleasures of life. Thanks to her gentle nature and easygoing personality, Eloise would make a wonderful companion for a first-time giant breed owner. She would do well in many types of homes, including families with children or adults of any age who are looking for a loving and loyal companion. If you’re searching for a sweet, slightly sassy queen who will keep you smiling and ensure you never forget to give enough ear scratches, Eloise is ready to claim her throne in your heart and home.
