Story
Rocket is a 2 year old male DLH cat who came to us as an owner surrender. Rocket was not doing well in their home, unfortunately, as he was chronically hiding and urinating on bedding. The home he was living in was an active household with dogs, cats, and children.. So we think that he was very stressed. Here at the shelter, he is housed in our community cat room with other kitties and free roams. We have put down blankets, pillows, beds, bedding of all kinds to see if he will urinate on them and he does not -- therefore we have an even greater suspicion that he was stressed in the home causing this behavior. For his well being, and his adopter, we are requiring a home without small children or dogs. He appears to do just fine with other friendly cats, male and female alike. His adoption fee is $100 and he is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and FELV/FIV negative. Please stop by the shelter to visit him today!

Story
Meet Soot. Unfortunately 2 years ago Soot lost her human owner after she passed away. Family members took Soot into their care and she was recently surrendered due to the inability to care for her any longer. She is turning 12 years old the first week of January. Soot has what is suspected to be IBD, and in the home environment she has a history of occasional flare ups of vomiting and diarrhea. She has been successfully treated with Prednisone in the past, which is what we would recommend for future incidents if they occur (she will need to be established with a vet right away). She has not had any GI upset while here with us. Soot is front declawed. She would be great for someone who just wants a senior lap cat or needs a declawed cat. She is a sweet and affectionate girl without the excessive energy of a younger cat. Her adoption fee is $100, and she is spayed/declawed, vaccinated (3 yr rabies included), FELV/FIV negative and microchipped. She has had full panel bloodwork in the last 2 years and comes with her full medical history. Please stop by the shelter to meet and adopt this sweet girl.

Story
Meet Hot Dog! Hot Dog is a 1 year and 2 months old female cat who was brought in as an owner surrender due to no fault of her own. Her family had too many cats due to prior accidental litters. Hot Dog is a sweet girl, but unsure of her new surroundings here at the shelter. She has lived with other animals and children in the home. She has beautiful "Bengal-ish" markings so we aren't sure if maybe she could be a mix of some kind. Hot Dog has been spayed since arriving, vaccinated, microchipped and FELV/FIV negative. Her adoption fee is $100. Stop by the shelter to meet her today!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi my name is Francie.  I'm a very typical calico female.  I'm hissy and a diva at first but once I get to know you I warm up.  I'm very independent, and like to play with my toys.  I like other kitties but love being the princess as well and doing my own thing.  I would be fine with another young kitty but would be best paired with a sibling I am already used to.  I might not do well with little kids but should be fine with older, respectful ones.  And I could possibly learn to tolerate a calm, respectful dog as well.  I am fixed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $200 ($350 if adopted as a pair) To adopt Francie, fill out an application at www.kakf.org/formsVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 15, 2025, 3:45 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Sally is an adorable little brown tabby with white markings.  She and her sister Ebony were living in a homeless encampment with their mother and sister.  The man taking care of them wanted them to have a better life so he found a couple of nice people to take them in.  Sally is very friendly, loves to play, especially chase.  She is great with other cats and would do best with another cat friend in her home.  She is most likely fine with kids and dogs with the right introduction.  She is fixed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped.   Her adoption fee is $225 ($400 if adopted as a pair) To adopt Sally, fill out an application at www.kakf.org/formsVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 22, 2025, 2:59 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Nova is an adorable little black kitten, born approx Oct 2024.  She came into her foster home terrified of people.  She has come a very long way.  She loves to play with her toys and climb up her cat tree.  She lives to be pet but is still a bit timid and is shy of new people.  With more love she will understand that nobody is going to hurt her.  She would flourish in a house with another confident, friendly cat or kitten to help show her how great it is to be loved by people.  She might be okay with a calm, disinterested dog and older kids, but would do best in a quiet house as she does get nervous of loud noises.  She is fixed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $200 ($350 if adopted as a pair) To adopt Nova, fill out an application at www.kakf.org/formsVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 1, 2026, 10:44 pm
