Story
Bella came into my life 7 years ago when she was just 6 months old. She is now 8 years old! I had moved into a small condo and wanted a companion. She has been an amazing pet. She is very relaxed, loves to cuddle and nuzzle when you are watching TV, loves to play with her toys, eats well and sleeps well. She’s tiny! I expected her to fill out more as she got older but never really did! She’s such a good girl and it breaks my heart to have to part ways with her but I am moving and my busy schedule doesn’t allow me to give her the true attention she loves and deserves.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thanks for your interest in a pet from A.R.F.! If you see a pet here, they are still available for adoption and you should apply through our adoption application on our website at  https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/application/   Some people believe that you can only have one true love in life. For Rock and Rowdy, this is certainly not true. They are obsessed with each other but have so much love left to give to their future forever family. Rock and Rowdy are both senior cats so they could use a forever home as soon as possible. They are sweet kitties who love hanging out in cat trees, bird watching, and doing figure eights around their human or humans. They do not act their age because they have plenty of energy left, but would still prefer a household with a slower-paced environment. Is your family perfect for these two in their golden years? If so, fill out an app today! Both cats are micro-chipped, up to date on all vaccinations, spayed, and litter box trained. Their adoption fee is $270 ($135x2).  If you are interested in meeting  Rock & Rowdy, please fill out our Online Application today!   Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will be able to contact you to arrange a meeting.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.   Thank you for considering a rescue pet from A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation! We are  based in Wheaton, IL and conduct adoption events in the DuPage County area. If you are interested in adopting one of our pets, please submit an adoption application at https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/application/  Adoption appointments are scheduled based on the order of applications received, so submit your application early! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact GW for more information about this pet. Thanks for your interest in a pet from A.R.F.! If you see a pet here, they are still available for adoption and you should apply through our adoption application on our website at  https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/application/   Primrose needs a specific type of adopter who has the patience and understanding to provide the proper home for her, as well as accept that it needs to be on her terms. Primrose has come a very long way, and in many ways, she is a typical cat now. However, Primrose will need a while to decompress and adjust. If you’re looking for an “easy adoption,” please check out the bios of other cats. If you truly understand that some cats are just a bit different, please keep reading. From Primrose’s foster: Primrose was probably abused in her past life, and she was originally so “hand shy” that any hand movement would make her hide and cower. I originally could not approach her standing up, but I can now. I can even pick her up and hug her, which was not always the case. She is afraid of new people and changes to her environment. She came to me completely shut down by fear, right out of the hospital. She had to continue her recovery from panleuk and an upper respiratory infection in a new place with a complete stranger (me). It took weeks before she would even make eye contact with me. It was truly heartbreaking. She needs someone who understands that it could take a few weeks or months before she will even allow a new person to touch her, and she is far more afraid of men than women. After a few weeks with me, and keeping Primrose in my home office while I work, Primrose became my friend, and every day she makes more progress. After months with me, she has become a wonderful “coworker” who sits with me and appreciates getting her head rubbed and her butt scratched. She does not like to have her nails to be cut. She’ll probably always have to go to the vet for nail trims, and she will probably always need gabapentin or some other sedation/calming med to go to the vet. She is not aggressive, she just shuts down when she is afraid. Primrose was even terrified of the TV when she came to me, but now she sits on me and watches General Hospital and Cubs games with me. She has become a very happy lap cat. Primrose loves both dry and wet food. She is very snack motivated, and the best way to become her friend is with Churu treats. She purrs very loudly when she’s happy, and she loves looking out the window. She loves to play with me with string toys, and she also plays with other toys on her own. When she’s ready for a snack, she has talks to me with this adorable, raspy meow. Primrose would do very well in a small, quiet environment, like an apartment with just one human. Her environment should not change often. It overwhelms her. We went away for a weekend, and Primrose did not panic when our cat sitter went into Primrose’s room, gave her fresh food and water, and scooped her litter box, she just kept her distance.  We went on a longer trip, and she went to another foster’s house for the 2 ½ weeks we were gone. Primrose hated it, and she was very happy to come back home after my trip. Since then, she has remained in my home and cared for by my cat sitter when I go anywhere. She would not do well with children or a busy household. Primrose has met our resident cats through a gate, and she does not like them. In fairness, they don't like her and will instigate through the gate. She should be an only pet. Bottom line is that Primrose needs someone who understands that she must have suffered some awful emotional trauma, and it’s taking her a long time to recover from it. She may always be skittish. She will probably never be outgoing with strangers, but she will be a fantastic companion to someone who can give her time and not force her to become someone other than the sweet, shy, kinda scared kitty who has been a delightful temporary resident of her foster home.  Primrose has enjoyed exploring more of her foster home while the resident cats are in a different area of the house. Primrose's perfect human will accept her quirks and love her as much as I have grown to, while letting Primrose blossom at her own pace. If you let her settle into your life on her terms, she will eventually return your love. Primrose is featured regularly on my Instagram page @gloriawarshaw. If you think you might be Primrose’s forever person, please apply to meet her at arf-il.org. That first meeting won’t go well. She’ll be afraid of you, which is why it helps to see the pics and videos I post on my Instagram page. Primrose  is micro-chipped, up to date on all vaccinations,  spayed, and litter box trained. Her adoption fee is $135.  If you are interested in meeting  Primrose, please fill out our Online Application today!   Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will be able to contact you to arrange a meeting.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.   Thank you for considering a rescue pet from A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation! You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thanks for your interest in a pet from A.R.F.! If you see a pet here, they are still available for adoption and you should apply through our adoption application on our website at  https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/application/   Rex is one of the cats participating in clear the shelter. His adoption fee is significantly reduced Part of ARF’s goal is to share with you the good and bad of the cats we have. It helps us best match you to the perfect cat. But, in full transparency, we now have a cat that we fear will never be adopted. Rex is a gray tabby cat who never properly learned social cues. He loves attention but lashes out without warning. He attacks feet and can draw blood even if he doesn’t mean to. He is not feral but truly just doesn’t understand how to ask for more attention. He needs someone who is willing to help guide him in the right direction with humans. It could take a long time to get him better with humans so he’s not the cat for someone who wants an easy going pet. But if you’re interested in giving Rex a chance or learning more about his story, please reach out today. Rex will call out to get attention because he does love people. He rubs up against his foster and weaves in and out of her legs looking up lovingly the whole time. He is extremely food motivated which can help with the learning curve. He lived happily with a woman for two years until he was put in a different location because she had to leave for some time. So we know he can be a good companion, he just needs someone to draw out his sweet side and the chaos in a foster home does not help him. If you are interested in meeting Rex, you can fill out an online adoption application at https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/application/. Once your application has been approved, an A.R.F. volunteer will contact you to arrange a meeting with Rex.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.   Thank you for considering a rescue pet from A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation! You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact KeK for more information about this pet. Thanks for your interest in a pet from A.R.F.! If you see a pet here, they are still available for adoption and you should apply through our adoption application on our website at  https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/application/   Are you looking for a lovable lap cat? Wren is your girl. Wren is a sweet, gentle girl who wants to be near her humans as much as possible. Wren has been in foster care since February of 2022. She arrived in rescue as a pregnant mom who gave birth to two gorgeous little kittens. In June of 2022 she had a flare up of an autoimmune condition called stomatitis. This caused swelling and pain in her mouth. Her foster mom was by her side through several surgeries which eventually resulted in the removal of all of Wren’s teeth. At this time, Wren has relief from her condition and is a happy cat with so much love to give. Wren is not on any medication currently but her future adopter will need to be aware of her needs so that any flare ups can be treated with medication. Her foster mom is happy to answer any questions about Wren and stomatitis. She is looking for a special home where she can relax and be your one and only best buddy. She needs to be your only pet to avoid any unnecessary stress. She is a beautiful girl with honey colored eyes and a little heart shaped nose. She loves to cuddle and is extremely affectionate. Wren is micro-chipped, up to date on all vaccinations, spayed, and litter box trained. Wren's adoption fee is $135. If you see a pet here, they are still available for adoption and you should apply through our adoption application on our website at  https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/application/   Reverie (aka mama) is an affectionate, loving companion. A super kitty, delightful, playful, and curious.  She won’t assume that she is allowed on a bed or sofa, but will wait each time for an invitation. She loves playing with almost anything: orange ball mini tower, glitter Pom Pom balls, or even better, an interactive fishing pole with you.   Curious, quick and smart, any attention from her humans is very appreciated.  She likes companionship and loves rubs or scratches on her neck or front shoulder blades. She has even learned to walk on a leash! She was a great mother to her 6 kittens.  Mama will make a good addition to your family or a single person. She has been getting along with other adult cats in her foster home.  Reverie does have a special dietary prescription for dry food, but wet/canned food is not recommended. Her foster is currently working on transitioning her to a sensitive stomach food.  If you want a loyal and independent cat, then Mama will be your perfect lifelong loving companion!   Reverie is micro-chipped, up to date on all vaccinations, spayed, and litter box trained.
