Good with cats,
Story
Hello! They call me Thumper. I am a medium hair grey kitten who is quite bashful. I will come by you at night and will accept petting but Im still working on trusting people. I am 8 months old.I've learned while being in my foster home that the other kitties come to my foster family for affection. I say to myself Oh, I wish I could do that too. I watch and watch and guess what? I have started to come around and be closer to people in the past week. One day I got so brave I hopped on my foster Moms lap when she was watching TV. They call that baby steps but for a shy girl like me it's like one giant step.Maybe my new family will be understanding on my shyness and can understand that time & patience for me to come to you. I know you'll have a lap waiting for me.I started my life living in the backyard of a wonderful Chicago family. They took great care of our mom when they realized she was going to have babies. They brought us inside to be born. Thankfully, we were born there not outside where we had no way of staying warm or finding food. They then called my foster family who sees this quite often; so many homeless kitties and they continued to take care of us in a safe, indoor environment. I love to play with my siblings and the other foster family cats. In the beginning I was not quite a lap kitty and Im a bit scared of people but if you are willing to work with me, Im sure I will build a trust with you.Ill tell some secrets my foster Mom learned about me to build my trust. Classical music calms down and I LOVE Made by Nacho treats, well really any treats get this girl motivated!Know what I also love? My sister Po. You might have seen the pictures of me cuddling with a white kitty. That's Po. She's braver than me and I hope when a family comes to meet me, they can also meet Po and we go to our forever home together. My foster family has been so wonderful in taking care of me and my siblings. My other siblings have all found homes and now it's my turn. I haven't been around young kids or dogs. I might do ok if they don't scare me. If I get scared I might hide and run.I will get close to you during day if you have those treats nearby. Please consider adopting me with Po. That would be so nice if I could go with to my new home with one of my her as it will make the transition easier. You will fall in love with them instantly and we can be one big family! Thanks,ThumperThumper and Po are located in our foster home in Hanover Park. Good with cats,
Story
Hi, my name is Po, and I am 8 months old. My Mama was a Panda kitty and I look a lot like her. You can see how I got my name. I am one of five kittens from Pandas litter that was growing up in a Chicago familys backyard. We had a really nice enclosure that kept us warm and safe from Chicagos weather. The family took great care of us when they realize our Mama had babies. They provided us fresh food, litterboxes and the warmest spot to sleep away from the outdoor elements. They even reached out to a rescue so that foster family stepped in to care for us in their home.I am a short haired kitty girl with a grey tail, and I have some grey spots on my head. I look like my mom and I think I got my Mamas bravery. She had to be brave to be on her own with her babies coming any day. Im the bravest because as soon as I came into my foster home, I'm a friendly kitty and I like when people come over as I get to know them. I might seem shy at first, but I will sneak my way onto your lap.I like to lounge in a window seat, snuggle with my sibling or even with my foster familys cats. You might see some of my pictures with my sister Thumper. Who says sisters don't get along? Come on over to my foster home and you will see me & Thumper being BFFs. We hope that when we meet our forever family we get to stay together or maybe my forever home another kitty for me to snuggle with.My foster family has been so wonderful in taking care of me and my siblings. My other siblings have all found homes and now it's my turn. I haven't been around young kids or dogs. I might do ok if they don't scare me. If I get scared I might hide and run.Hope to meet you!PoPo is located in our foster home in Hanover Park. Story
Hi there, my name is Speckles and I'm a 1-year-old pretty Tortie. You know some Tortie's have this stigma of "tortitude"? Well not me. I'm a very quiet, lovable girl that just wants to be held.I was found in a shelter and the Warden thought I was pregnant. He saw my "round belly" and concluded there's babies. Thankfully, there were no babies, but I just had some extra love handles. How dare he announce to the world I got a round belly. You know us girls can get miffed by that weight comment.Treasured Animal Rescue waited to see (just in case) any babies grew in my round belly and thankfully, I just like food. I went to the vet, and she took good care of me and said "Speckles, you are healthy and going to have a happy life".I love looking out the window at what's going outside. I never want to be outdoors again. I like laying in the sun and feeling the warmth. I give my foster Mom head butts to say pet me and she abides. I like it when she lounges on the couch because I get to hang out with her. There are other cats here and I am ok with them. Dogs, well they sure are loud so when my foster Mom has me on her lap all the dogs are outside so I don't get spooked.I hope one day I have a family of my own that will let me be their lap kitty and I can give you all the head butts you want. Maybe one day I might show you my Tortie attitude but for now I'm just a sweet, quiet girl that wants to be loved. Can you love me?xoxo,SpecklesSpeckles is located in our foster home in Aurora. To meet this sweetie, please complete our adoption application at: https://treasuredanimalrescueinc.org/application-cat-adoption/Sorry, Treasured Animal Rescue does not adopt out of the State of IllinoisThank you for choosing to adopt! Story
Hello, my name is Dahlia, and I am 9 years young. I'm a pretty Tortie but you know how Tortie's have the "tortitude" attitude? Not me. Who needs all that fuss? I'm a quiet girl that chooses to just hang out either on your lap or cat tree.I lived with my Human my whole life. Since I was a wee kitten. During the time I had my Human and she had me. I was her faithful companion until one day family came and took my friend to another place to live. They call it an assisted living facility and kitties weren't allowed. The family couldn't take me with them, so they brought me to a shelter in TN. Treasured Animal Rescue saw my sad picture and said, "bring her to us - we'll make her happy."I'm slowly coming out of the "what happened?" phase and making myself comfortable. As I mentioned, I'm a quiet girl and prefer a quiet home. There are other cats here and some dogs. I don't mind the dogs, but they sure do bark a lot! There's even some Teenagers. I don't know who's louder - a Teenager or a barking dog. Ha ha.I hope one day I can be a faithful companion to a new family. Someone who can have me on their lap and brush me. They will say how pretty I am. I wish I could answer back to say thank you for the kind words but when I purr really loud, you'll know I'm your gal forever. Can't wait until we meet!xoxo,DahliaDahlia is in our foster home in Aurora. Hello, my name is Godiva, and I am about a year old. I am a gorgeous black kitty. I have shiny black fur and gorgeous eyes.I had 4 pretty babies, and they are also looking for their forever homes. Have you seen them? We call them my little chocolates. Do you have a sweet tooth? If so, then you'll want to meet me because I'm the sweetest kitty girl in the world!I'm a very confident gal that loves to lounge around but I get nosy, and I have to check things out. I like to climb up on high things. Sometimes, my foster Mom finds me on top of the refrigerator. She asks me how did I get up there? It's a secret but I get a better view being so high up.I love when people come to visit the other foster kitties and dogs. I rub my body on their legs for attention. You can probably say I love attention. I like it when my foster Mom is on the computer because that's one of my favorite spots. My days of being a Mama are over and my foster Mom says it's Godiva's time. My time for someone to take care of me and love me forever & ever. I was a good Mama and raised silly kitties but it's now my turn to be silly and loved. Can you love me and let me be silly? Can't wait for us to meet!GodivaGodiva is in our foster home in Aurora.
