I got from a family when he was about 2 months only. I saw him shaking being unfamiliar with the new environment. I let him have my kid's blanket to feel safe. Two days later, he was jumping on me. He grew older and stronger. Nonetheless, he is always calm and mindful. I let him go outdoors to enjoy his life. He met the love of his life, he spends the night with her, and in the morning, he calls me from behind the door to open for him to go up and rest. Unfortunately, some of the neighbors didn't like the cat being on his own, so the filed complaints about him. The landlord eventually had to comply and asked me to remove him from the community. While hard on me, I want him to have a good home. People who care about him. Those who are willing to love him for what he is. He has never caused problems, never aggressive, nor being furniture destroyer. Just a cat who meows at me when he wants water, and I have to open the faucet for him.

Maxine was born on Oct. 25, 2018. My elderly mother adopted her as a kitten from the Naperville Humane Society. They adore each other. My mom will be moving soon to a supportive living community where they do not accept pets. Maxine has lived her entire life in a 2-room apartment with just my mother. She often sits in front of the large window, enjoying when it's open so she can take in all the sights, sounds and smells of the outdoors. She likes it when someone plays with her, especially wand-style toys. She is a typical cat - enjoying crinkly paper bags, cardboard boxes, etc. She has many toys, cat condos, a scratch post, etc. She has led a pretty quiet life. She's great at the vet. Her only imperfection is that she can react strongly when startled awake from a deep nap. My hope is that she would find love and care with another person, couple or family; that she could live in a bigger space, with people who want to play and cuddle with her on a regular basis.
