Story
I got Frank from the DuPage Animal Shelter. I noticed how energetic, affectionate, and playful he was. I never had an orange cat and he was so fun to play with. Frank is 3 years old. I think Frank will do well with another pet and people who can give him a lot of attention. I am not home often and Frank needs more attention and love than I can give him.

Story
What's a cat doing among all of these dogs, you ask? Why, because I am a special angel. That's why... also, I'm a bit of a boss girl.  Hi I’m Kitty, and if you’re looking for a once-in-a-lifetime kind of love… I’ve been waiting for you. My story didn’t start the easiest. I came from Miami, where I lived in a car with my owner and a dog. I didn’t know what stability felt like… or what it meant to truly relax. Life was uncertain, and I learned to stay small and quiet.  Then I made my way to Illinois… and everything changed. At first, I was scared. I didn’t know if I could trust it… this new, safe world. But once I realized I was finally okay… my heart opened in the most beautiful way. Now? I am pure love. I don’t just like being around my person… I live for it. I will be right by your side through everything. Reading a book? I’m your little reading buddy. Cleaning or organizing? I’ll follow you from room to room. Taking a nap? I’ll be curled up right next to you before you even get comfortable. I am that kind of cat… the one people dream about. The one who chooses you every single day. And when it’s time to play, I have the cutest, happiest energy. Catnip makes me roll around like the world is perfect (because in those moments, it is). Wand toys? I am OBSESSED. I could chase them forever with my short little legs bouncing around… and yes, I’m as adorable as you’re imagining. I’m the perfect petite size, easy to scoop up, easy to love… and impossible to forget. I do have one tiny diva moment… nail trims. I will absolutely let you know how I feel about those. But honestly? That’s just part of my charm What I’m really looking for is simple… A safe home. A person to love. A place where I never have to wonder again. If you’ve ever wanted a cat who will be your constant companion, your little shadow, your comfort after a long day… I promise, I will be that for you and more. ##2681359##

Story
Ezra is a 7-year-old male (April 2019) who is social, affectionate, and full of personality. He loves to play, snuggle, and be near his people. He’s curious, a little comedian, and enjoys being brushed, getting tail pets, and watching critters from a sunny window. He has lived with another cat and around kids, but would do best in a calmer home. He would thrive with someone who can give him attention, playtime, and lots of love. He is very bonded with his kitty brother Ryker, if looking for two furry friends. Neutered, up to date on vaccines. Healthy. Due to a new baby and allergies, we’re hoping to find him a home where he’ll be loved, played with, and a little spoiled. Please reach out and share a bit about your home if you feel he’s a good fit.

Story
I adopted my cat Olive from the Chicago Anti-Cruelty Society in December 2023, and she is 8 years old now. We are looking for a new home for her because my wife developed a pretty severe allergy to cats over time.Olive is a really special cat. She is missing seven teeth, so she eats an all wet food diet, and I would love for her future owner to keep that up. She is on the more sensitive side and really loves being brushed regularly. She is also extremely gentle and I have never seen her show any aggression toward people. Even with strangers, she warms up right away and is very cuddly. With other pets, I am not sure she would do very well. I once watched a family member’s cat for a couple of months, and Olive was just tolerant after a month, but at the beginning she was pretty scared and I had to keep them separated via a pet-gate.Overall, Olive is gentle, loving, a little sensitive, and very people-oriented. She would do best in a calm home where she can get lots of attention!

Story
Robin Egg came to us from animal control after being found as a stray, and while the shelter was a big adjustment at first, she’s already starting to show us her sweet personality. Though she can still be a bit shy, she’s been coming out of her shell more each day—and with a little patience, she’s even discovered her love for chatting! This lovely girl enjoys expressing herself with soft meows as she grows more comfortable in her surroundings. Robin Egg will thrive in a patient, understanding home with older family members who can respect her pace and give her the time she needs to fully blossom. Quick movements and busy environments can still make her a bit nervous, but she’s making wonderful progress and just needs a calm, loving space to continue building her confidence. With kindness and consistency, Robin Egg is sure to keep opening up—rewarding her person with gentle companionship and sweet little conversations along the way. If you’re looking for a beautiful cat who’s already showing signs of blossoming with love and patience, Robin Egg could be the perfect match. Could you be the one to help her continue her journey?

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Guera, Nene, and Chocolata came to our shelter under heartbreaking circumstances when their beloved owner was suddenly deported, leaving them without the home they knew. It’s been a big, confusing change for them, and they are still adjusting to their new surroundings. Right now, all three are feeling nervous and unsure in the shelter environment. They tend to be sensitive to quick movements and loud activity, so they would do best in a calm, quiet home with older family members who understand the importance of patience and gentle interactions. Each of them deserves the chance to decompress, to rest, and to slowly rediscover what it means to be loved and secure. A stable, understanding home will make all the difference in helping them come out of their shells and show their true selves. They have been through so much, and what they need now is simple: a soft place to land and someone willing to give them the time they need. They were in a foster home before coming to the shelter, and her foster felt like Chocolata and Guera loved hanging out together. While it is not required for them to be adopted together, we feel like they would be a good pair for those interested in adopting a pair!
