FOSTERED IN: Adoption Center - Frankfort, IL 60423 ESTIMATED DOB: August 2023 COLOR/BREED: Black Shorthair KIDS: Likely DOGS: Unknown CATS: Yes HISTORY: Gordita and her family (momma Taco Bell and sisters Burrito and Chalupa) were surrendered to a shelter and then transferred to our care. ABOUT: Gordita is a tiny panther with a big heart and an even bigger voice! This chatty little girl loves to let you know when she’s ready for attention, especially when it’s time for her favorite back scratches. Though she started out a bit shy, she has blossomed into a loving and playful companion who enjoys both adventure and affection. She’s the kind of cat who will follow you around, eager to be part of whatever you’re doing, and then curl up beside you when it’s time to relax. Despite her curious and playful nature, Gordita has a tender, gentle side that makes her truly special. She’s the type of cat who will place her tiny paw on your leg just to make sure you’re still there as she drifts off to sleep. She loves being near her people and will always find a cozy spot close by. Her mix of independence and affection makes her the perfect balance—never demanding but always grateful for love and attention. Gordita is ready to find a forever family that will cherish her sweet, loving personality. She would thrive in a home where she can explore, play, and most of all, be adored. If you’re looking for a cat who will form a deep bond and fill your days with warmth and conversation, Gordita is waiting to meet you! Interested in adding one of our adoptables to your family? Story
FOSTERED IN: Evergreen Park, 60805 ESTIMATED DOB: 5/30/2019 COLOR/BREED: Tabby Shorthair KIDS: Older DOGS: No CATS: No HISTORY: Josie’s former adopter surrendered Josie back into our care due to a terminal illness. ABOUT: Josie is Chatty, Independent, Affectionate, and Silly. Her foster said she is generally an independent cat, but she will let you know when she would appreciate some attention by meowing and rubbing on your legs and enjoys a good cuddle from time to time. Like the rest of us, Josie enjoys screen time and she is currently hooked on CatTV on YouTube. Josie isn’t a huge fan of cat toys, but she does love a good string or cord on occasion. When she’s done watching her programs, she enjoys taking long naps on soft blankets. Josie’s foster said she is, surprisingly, not a fan of tube treats, but loves individual treats like temptations. Josie also has no interest in wet food, a convenience bonus for her future adopter! Josie does love meal time and will meow if she hears you get up in the morning to remind you about the food bowl. Her foster said she has an especially sassy meow at meal times...if you’ve ever been hangry, you understand. Josie was originally adopted into a home with a pre-teen and teenager and she did well in that home. Her foster said she is very friendly and they also expect she would do fine with older children. She might choose to remove herself from any situation where children were too hands-on with her as she prefers not to be picked up. Josie’s current foster home has a dog, and Josie startles when she hears the dog bark and has shown no curiosity or interest in meeting him so a home with no dogs would be best for her. Josie’s foster home thinks she would do best in a quiet home. She does love attention, but isn’t terribly needy so she would prefer adopters who have similar needs of her. We were told by Josie’s previous owner that she would go outside the litter box at times, since she was returned to us in November Josie has not had any accidents in two different foster homes. We feel that stress was a component of her issues in the past and that she would do best in a home as an only cat, as that has been a consistent component across her new living situations. Josie must also strictly be kept as an indoor only cat. If you think Josie sounds like the perfect fit to your home, you can find our adoption application and more information on our website: www.luluslockerrescue.org.

FOSTERED IN: Adoption Center - Frankfort, IL 60423 ESTIMATED DOB: January 2024 COLOR/BREED: Black Shorthair KIDS: Likely DOGS: Unknown CATS: Yes HISTORY: Chalupa and her family (momma Taco Bell and sisters Burrito and Gordita) were surrendered to a shelter and then transferred to our care. ABOUT: Chalupa is a pocket-sized panther with a huge personality! This sleek black beauty is always on the move, ready to explore every inch of her surroundings with boundless curiosity. If there’s a new drawer left open, a cabinet to peek inside, or a toy to chase, Chalupa will be the first on the scene. Her playful energy and fearless spirit make every day an adventure, and she’s always eager to turn the ordinary into something exciting. As an extroverted and social cat, Chalupa thrives on interaction—whether it’s greeting visitors, pouncing on a new toy, or zipping up the cat tree to get the best view in the room. She’s a natural entertainer with an infectious enthusiasm that will keep you laughing and engaged. If you're looking for a cat who brings energy and fun into your home, Chalupa is the perfect match. Story
FOSTERED IN: Joliet, IL ESTIMATED DOB: March 2022 COLOR/BREED: Black and White, Domestic Short Hair KIDS: Older DOGS: Possibly CATS: Possibly ***********COURTESY POST FOR OWNER************************** HISTORY: Wilbur was found as a stray ABOUT: Meet Wilbur, a gentle soul with a playful spirit, despite his health challenges. At two years old, Wilbur has already captured the hearts of those who meet him with his sweet and mellow demeanor. While he faces the realities of being both FIV+ and FELV+, Wilbur's love for life shines through in his love for play, particularly with wand toys and toy mice. His playful antics are a testament to his resilient spirit, reminding us all to cherish each moment and find joy in the simplest of pleasures. Wilbur's affectionate nature extends beyond playtime, as he enjoys lounging on his cat tree and soaking up the sunshine. His calm and friendly demeanor make him a delightful companion for anyone seeking a feline friend to share quiet moments and cozy cuddles. While Wilbur is still learning to navigate the company of dogs, his gentle disposition suggests that he would adapt well to a canine companion with patience and understanding. Despite his diagnosis, Wilbur's capacity for love knows no bounds. He would likely thrive in a home with other FELV+ cats, as he craves the companionship of those who understand his unique circumstances. With the right environment and supportive family, Wilbur is poised to blossom into a beloved member of the household, bringing warmth, comfort, and endless love to those fortunate enough to welcome him into their lives. This is a courtesy post. If you are interested in adopting Wilbur, please contact Jody at Jody8714@gmail.com

Story
FOSTERED IN: Lockport, IL 60441 ESTIMATED DOB: 08/2023 COLOR/BREED: Tabby and White Mediumhair KIDS: Older DOGS: Unknown CATS: Yes HISTORY: Dante came to us from an intake shelter in Chicago. ABOUT: Dante spent the first part of his life growing up in a cage in a shelter. He missed out on important life experiences so he is on the shy side. He will take a while to warm up to new people, but his foster home is constantly seeing his confidence build. He even sleeps in bed ON his foster dad, so we know he desires to be with people. He has recently begun coming to ask for attrition and will rub on his fosters’ legs and flop on the ground so they can pet him. Dante loves to play with all kinds of toys, and playing with him will be a great way to build a relationship with him. He loves wand toys, kicker toys, springs, poof balls and anything he can chase. Dante lets his silly/goofy side show when he is having some playtime. Even being a shy cat, he does like to reach out and boop you as you walk by to hope for attention and remind you that he is there. Dante will do great in homes with other cats. He has been introduced to the resident cats and he gets along great with everyone. Dante has not been around children, but because he is a shy cat, we don’t think homes with young children will be a good fit for him. We do not know how Dante is with dogs, but because he is shy only the most calm and uninterested dogs could be considered. Dante’s ideal home will provide him with a patient and nurturing environment and allow him time to adjust to his new home. A young, outgoing cat may help him feel comfortable quicker as he took to the resident cats in his foster home right away. A calm and predictable home will make Dante feel at home and safe. Homes that can provide this for Dante will be rewarded when he is comfortable enough to raise his beautiful floofy tail! Are you the perfect gentle home for this sweet boy? Story
FOSTERED IN: Lockport, IL 60441 ESTIMATED DOB: 08/2023 COLOR/BREED: Tabby and White Shorthair KIDS: Older DOGS: No CATS: Yes HISTORY: Lilith came to us from an intake shelter in Chicago. ABOUT: Lilith spent the early part of her life in an animal shelter, so she is still learning the ways of the world. Lilith has slowly been gaining confidence, but still has room to grow with a patient and loving family. She likes to be around people but can be easily startled by fast movements. She also likes to be able to approach you for any attention, not the other way around. She often chooses to be where everyone is, but prefers to sit on the sidelines. Lilith would be a great work-from-home companion as she is not the type to try to help you with your reports or join your meetings. Lilith is under a year old, so she loves to play with toys like any young cat. She loves springs and wand toys, and also other things that aren’t necessarily toys like blind cords and phone chargers. She also loves to carry small toys around in her mouth. Lilith loves treats like churu tubes which will be a great way for a future home to build a relationship and earn her trust. Lilith is learning to appreciate pets and attention, but she prefers them when she is feeling brave enough to ask for them. Lilith is not used to living in a home with children, and she will do best in homes with older children or an adult only home. Lilith has done great with the resident cats after she learned they meant her no harm and now loves to run and chase them. Lilith has not been fostered with dogs, and because she is easily startled we think that dog-free homes would be best for her. Lilith’s ideal home will be patient and kind as she learns to adapt to a new home. Allowing her to become comfortable on her own terms and not trying to force anything upon her. Her family will be able to watch her blossom and grow. Her foster family says it feels like you won the lottery when she jumps up and asks for attention. Lilith will thrive in a calm and predictable home. A resident friendly, welcoming, outgoing cat will likely help her build confidence faster. Are you ready to watch gentle Lilith blossom?
