Story
Mark your calendars. There’s a Tortoiseshell Appreciation Day; it’s April 17! But it should be every day! I’m Catherine, one of a large group of cats plus other animals who came to Paws and Claws from another rescue in early September. I had originally been found as a stray, and I live up to the tortoiseshell’s reputation. I am a highly spirited girl, full of spunk and sparks. Do you remember the moral of the fable about the tortoise and the hare? Slow and steady wins the race. If you are to win me over, I will require patience and understanding. If you can purr-severe, I will sense your compassion. Love wins. When love wins. I win. I deserve love. We all do. Catherine.Adoption fee $100 + microchip fee $30 + tax

Story
Will work for food. Yeah, “work” means being cute, playing with yarn balls, and soaking up attention. I’m Hobo, an adult tabby guy who moseyed onto a property on Halloween. Good choice, fella. It turns out she fosters cats for Paws and Claws! I’m not really a fan of being held, but that’s not something I was used to. I could probably learn to like it with a lot of practice though. My foster mom said that I get a little “jerky” with other cats, but because I was out on my own, I hadn’t been in a home with other cats either. I got sick too – I wasn’t used to eating good, nutritious food on a regular basis. There were so many things that were different from “living rough.” She loves watching me play. I toss those little yarn balls up in the air and just watch them fall to the floor. That’s it. Over and over. Up and down. If you’re patient, and you’d like to continue my education as an indoor cat, introducing me to new toys, “luxuries,” and more tender loving care, I’ll be happy to be your Hobo guy.Adoption fee $100 + microchip fee $30 + tax

Story
Jasmine (and Alice) are available for viewing at VCA Cascade Animal Medical Center. Jasmine is a beautiful flower that grows in tropical and warm climates. It represents love and grace. I’m a lovely adult female named Jasmine. I was surrendered to Rochester Animal Control along with another kitty from my home, Alice. I am a quiet but friendly girl, and I like to be petted. This is a big change for us, and while it is not required that we be adopted together, it may be easier for us to adapt to a new home environment if we can stay together. In some cultures, the jasmine flower also represents new beginnings. With the love of a caring family, I will adjust and be a happy Jasmine kitty. Adoption fee $100 + microchip fee $30 + tax

Story
Are you looking for a lover boy? I’m George, a handsome, medium-haired boy who came to Paws and Claws from a rescue partner. I’m friendly and love being petted. I’m playful, but my behavior can be unpredictable. It would be best if my adopter is cat-savvy and the home has older children or adults only. “Always be yourself, unless you can be a dragon, then be a dragon.”- “Tease Me”. Once I no longer have to live in a kennel and have settled into a home of my own, without so many other cats around, it is hoped that I will calm down. Then the only fire this dragon will breathe will be the sparks of love. Adoption fee $100 + microchip fee $30 + tax

Story
Cleocatra! There’s Cleocatra the Masked Singer…and Cleocatra the board game, where players are Egyptian cat rescuers, and their goal is to save cats in pyramids. I don’t wear a mask or sing much, but I’ve been rescued along with 20 of my feline friends, not from a pyramid, because this is not ancient Egypt, and it was not a game. The woman who found us brought us to her home and cared for us in her basement until she arranged for homes and rescue groups to accept all of us. I am here with five of my friends so we can find forever homes. I’m Cleocatra (“Cleo”), a tabby and white girl who came to Paws and Claws with five of those cats. I can be cautious and skittish, but I am starting to accept a little petting. I really, really love scratching posts and all toys! Zoomies! I am the queen of the zoomies! I like chasing after toys with my BFF Oliver. I am not super interested in other cats. I only have eyes for Oliver. We play together and I hang around him, so – please – can we be adopted together! I like hanging out in high places where I can feel safe and watch what’s going on. I’ve been around dogs. I was eating Special Kitty, Purina Cat Chow, and wet food. Squeeze treats are yummy, too, of course. For a “tut”-ally appealing kitty, check out Cleocatra (and my pal, Oliver). We’d love to go home to your “purr-amid.”Adoption fee $100 + microchip fee $30 + tax

Story
It’s been said that there are worlds in an opal. The October birthstone symbolizes hope, purity, love, and creativity. Oh, my! I don’t know if I am any of those things! I’m a sweet tabby girl named Opal. I was found near Oxbow Park in early December and have been staying in a foster home since then. I am a very loving girl, and I can’t wait to be someone’s special Opal girl soon!Adoption fee $100 + microchip fee $30 + tax
