Story

Suni and her mama, Lee-Lee, share a bond that’s impossible to miss. These two have been side by side through everything, and they’re happiest when they’re together — playing, relaxing, and keeping each other close. They truly are a little family looking for a home of their own. Their story began in a parking garage at the UNT Health Science Center, where Lee-Lee, a devoted and incredibly smart mama, kept her babies safe the only way she knew how. Thanks to a kind group of students, this little family was rescued and given a chance at a better life, and now they’re ready for their next chapter. Suni (almost 2yo) is a playful, curious girl with the prettiest tiger-striped coat and a fluffy tail that has a mind of its own. She has a fun, adventurous spirit — she’ll chase toys, explore her surroundings, and then come right up to you for affection, looking into your eyes like she’s asking to be picked up and loved. She enjoys her cuddles, Lee-Lee (3yo) is her steady, loving mama — a petite long-haired tuxedo with a gentle, watchful nature. She’s the kind of cat who brings a quiet sense of comfort, the one who makes a space feel safe and calm. You can tell how much she’s cared for her babies, and now it’s her turn to be cared for too. Together, they balance each other beautifully — playful and peaceful, curious and comforting. They’ve already been through so much side by side, and they’re looking for a forever home where they can stay that way. Giselle has been a wonderful mom to her four babies but her babies are finding their own homes now and Giselle is ready for her forever family. She is a quiet & laid back cat. She loves little yarn cat balls and will carry them around the house in her mouth and play with them. She also likes a nice cat tree in a sunny window. Born 11/1/2024 Giselle was abandoned in an apartment complex in Grand Prairie and ended up pregnant thankfully a nice family took her in and let her have her babies. They quickly realized that they could not take care of the new little family and reached out to Meowtown. Story

Steiner is one of those cats you fall in love with instantly — mostly because of that adorable little tongue that’s always peeking out. He’s missing a few teeth, so it just kind of… stays there. And honestly? It makes him completely irresistible. I’m his foster mom, and once you meet him, you realize how sweet he really is. He loves pets, being brushed, and just hanging out close to his person. He’s especially happy with a bowl of mushy wet food and is starting to discover that toys are actually pretty fun (catnip bananas are a current favorite). Steiner didn’t have an easy start — he was found living outside behind a grocery store, just trying to get by. At first, he seemed unsocial, but it turns out he was just scared. Once he felt safe, his true personality came out, and it’s all soft, gentle, and loving. He’s not big on being picked up, but he’s more than happy to snuggle right next to you while you relax. He does well with other cats who give him space, is okay with older kids, and would do best in a quieter home without dogs. Steiner is the kind of cat who just needs someone to see him — little tongue, sweet heart, and all — and give him the safe, cozy life he’s been waiting for. At Meowtown, we don’t have a traditional, physical shelter - all of our cats live in loving foster homes. That means they are already used to real home life, and we truly know their personalities, habits, and what makes them special. They are safe, socialized, and ready to be part of a family. They’re not waiting to become housecats… they already are. They just need a house. She loves to give kisses and will run up to you and ask for one😽❤️ as she looks earnestly in your eyes. You can pick her up and kiss her but she doesn’t like to be held long. She is a happy lap kitty if she is tuckered out from her fierce girl playing and velvet rocket zoomies. She is the most resilient of the litter…chill in the carrier on car trips, the first out to explore and romp on play dates. She will be good with cats and dogs when properly introduced and supervised. Miss Merryhill was named for the school in Arlington where she was trapped late on the campus one night, scared, hungry and alone. She is a beautiful and boldly painted tabby, her stripes and swirls made with a fat brush. She lives to play, be it with a feline foster friend, or chasing a toy dangled off a fishing pole. She is serious and earnest in her joyful pursuit of play and will leave it all on the field…often pushing herself to her limits and will flop down for a breather like a marathoner past the tape. She will try to engage with any kitty…even the big, grumpy old man cats for a serious wrestle. When she is tuckered out, she will seek the lap of the two-legged family folk…leaping lightly in the lap will a full throttle purr. Meet Mandarina! 🧡 Mandarina (aka Mandy) is a beautiful orange tabby mama with a calm, gentle spirit and the softest eyes. She was found sleeping under a car, doing her best to survive on the streets—then gave birth outside before being brought into safety. Since then, she’s been settling into indoor life and learning that people can be pretty wonderful. Born 4/1/2023 Mandy is sweet and quiet around humans—she may need a little time and patience to warm up, but she’s never aggressive. No bites, no scratches—just the occasional hiss if she’s feeling unsure or overwhelmed. With some gentle encouragement (and maybe a treat or two), she’ll hop into her crate like a champ, and she even sits calmly for warm showers like a total pro. She’s still building her confidence, so a calm home would suit her best. Mandy has done well around other cats and even dogs, but we’re not sure yet how she feels about young children. With time and kindness, she’s sure to keep blossoming into an even more affectionate companion.
