Just like my name implies, I am a perfect balance of coffee and cream, but in dog form.  My coat, for starters – looks like coffee with cream.  I am also the perfect balance of energy and chill. Take me for a walk, let me sniff around, and I’m good to hang out for the rest of the day. Not to sound full of myself, but I am told I have a very good personality – this is important because we’ll be spending a lot of time together.  Oh, and my eyes are quite stunning – one blue and one brown.  What do I like?  I like tennis balls.  I like walks where I can sniff stuff.  I like smelling your mouth after you've had something good to eat (is that weird?).  I like being with you and whoever you’re with, wherever you are.  I also happen to like kids – which is big because I can tell you firsthand that not all dogs like kids (they just tolerate them).  Listen, I’ve been hanging around here at the shelter and they talk.  They say I’m a good dog.  No one knows why I’m still here.  Why am I still here?  Let’s change that, shall we? Princess and her puppies were rescued from a high kill shelter in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. She is approximately 3 years old. Princess was found as a stray by a compassionate individual who took her in until she had her puppies. She was very skinny when she came to us. You could see her ribs and shoulder bones, but she has built up her physic and looks great now. Princess was on the list to be euthanized because she was considered to be aggressive. We have found her to be a sweet girl who wanted to protect her puppies in the shelter environment. She loves to get belly rubs and give kisses. Princess loves to play. There is one toy she likes a lot. We toss the toy for her to run and get, then she starts tossing it in the air and grabbing it up again to toss again. She loves to play this game for several minutes. She needs a bit of work walking on a leash. We have been taking her on short walks, she gets very excited about the walk and pulls on the leash. We believe she will calm down and become a great walker as we work with her and her new family works with her also. She is also crate trained. In fact, after she takes a walk, you tell her to kennel up and she goes into the kennel with no problems. Sofia is a playful puppy but also loves to cuddle. She has no idea what personal space is and just wants to be near a warm body. LOL! She will bark at noises but is not aggressive. She sits on command and is smart. Sofia will destroy anything she can pull into her crate, so for that reason, there is only a mattress inside a huge crate where she sleeps at night, if she is being left alone for short periods, a smaller crate is best. She loves toys and anything that breathes. LOL!
