Bella is an approx 2 y/o 10# Chiweenie who was found as a stray in a small rural TX town. No one came in to claim her and she was very frightened at the shelter. She's now in a foster home in CO and is coming out of her shell. She loves to be near her person/people, sit on your lap, and sleep under the covers in the big bed. Bella now loves to play with other dogs but can get snarky if she doesn’t get to be the boss. Bella has a difficult time sharing so we are looking to place her in a home where she is the only dog or with a laid back dog who doesn’t care about her bossiness. Bella needs a secure 6 ft fenced yard as she will be a flight risk for awhile and humans who can take her out frequently. She is potty trained and crate trained. She enjoys walks and is good on the leash but will bark at people, other dogs and unfamiliar things. She had made a lot of progress with her fear barking on walks and will need her new owner to continue with her reward based training. She'd do best with someone (she prefers women over men) home during the day and no small children. She hasn't been overly barky indoors. She was curious about cats but we're not sure how should be be living with them. Coco and Jerry arrive in Colorado Saturday 2/7/2026 and needs a committed foster home or adopter to welcome them! This adorable bonded pair of six- to seven pound Applehead Chihuahuas, six year old Coco and his sister five year old Jerry, have the same Mum, different Dad's. Their previous owner sadly had to surrender them to rescue when moving due to finances. Luckily, these two have each other to navigate the changes! They are great together and love people- especially kids! Have a kid that wants a pet to dress up? These are your dogs! They LOVE to wear clothes and will wait to be dressed. They love to cuddle under blankets too. The siblings are very codependent- they don't suffer from separation anxiety, but will follow each other around, They will tolerate other dogs and will get used to them, but aren really into toys or playing. What they are into is food, and dressing up- these are foodie divas. The divas are currently living in a foster home in San Antonio, Texas, awaiting an adopter or open foster home in Colorado to bring them up and into their home. ***The divas are being posted on behalf of our partner rescue in Texas- the process and adoption will go through them. The adoption fee does not include the transport fee (usually $125-200/per dog).*** Red Fern Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit foster-based animal rescue in Denver that saves animals from abandonment and neglect in South Texas for new lives in Colorado. Marnie is a gorgeous girl with a spring in her step despite her difficult background. Originally discovered wandering the streets scavenging for food, Marnie was brought into a loving home. Unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances the wonderful people who took her in are now themselves between homes and are unable to properly care for this lovely lady. Now Marnie is currently being fostered and showered with love, but she still needs to find her final forever home! Marnie may be getting on in years, but you'd never be able to tell! Marnie can usually be seen on her hind legs looking for a cuddle and a kiss, and she can even make her way onto your bed for a nice nap without any assistance. Despite her seemingly endless energy Marnie just wants to be loved and to cuddle up - she is perfectly content wherever her main human is. Marnie could do with a little refresher on her leash etiquette, but she isn't one to pull. Unfortunately due to some poor encounters with off-leash dogs Marnie can be tense when meeting new dogs - she isn't aggressive, but would do best in a home where she can have some time to herself (and for hugs from her human!) I came into RezDawg with a big group of sibling pups, and although we’re now all in different foster homes, I’ve adjusted beautifully. It took me about a week to settle in, but now I’m thriving and so happy! I’m one of the best snugglers you’ll ever meet—my favorite place in the world is curled up next to my human, showering them with kisses. I even like to gently rest my paw on your hand just to remind you how much I love you. I get along with everyone: big dogs, little dogs, cats, and kids! I know how to walk politely on a leash and love to go on walks, big or small. I am fully house-trained and appreciate having a yard where I can take care of my business.
