Bella is an approx 2 y/o 10# Chiweenie who was found as a stray in a small rural TX town. No one came in to claim her and she was very frightened at the shelter. She's now in a foster home in CO and is coming out of her shell. She loves to be near her person/people, sit on your lap, and sleep under the covers in the big bed. Bella now loves to play with other dogs but can get snarky if she doesn’t get to be the boss. Bella has a difficult time sharing so we are looking to place her in a home where she is the only dog or with a laid back dog who doesn’t care about her bossiness. Bella needs a secure 6 ft fenced yard as she will be a flight risk for awhile and humans who can take her out frequently. She is potty trained and crate trained. She enjoys walks and is good on the leash but will bark at people, other dogs and unfamiliar things. She had made a lot of progress with her fear barking on walks and will need her new owner to continue with her reward based training. She'd do best with someone (she prefers women over men) home during the day and no small children. She hasn't been overly barky indoors. She was curious about cats but we're not sure how should be be living with them. Pico is a Chihuahua mix who is approximately 6 years old and 10#. She and her baby were rescued from a local hoarder situation. She is extremely shy and is still learning that humans (prefers females) can be wonderful. A patient owner shall reap rewards. She will need an adult family and a fully fenced secure yard as she is a flight risk. However, she loves to run and run in the yard. She is fully vaccinated and has been spayed and chipped. She has been around other dogs and cats and gets along well with them. Louie Chihuahua Mix Male 1 year old 10 lbs. Allow me to introduce myself: my name is Louie and I’m looking for my forever home! I’m just a sweet dog who gets along well with other pups and loves to cuddle. I love to run around the yard and play. I am about one year old and I still have a lot of puppy energy! I get along well with children and I love playing with an assortment of dog toys. I can be a little bit shy when meeting new people, but we’ll be fast friends once we get to know each other! I have not yet met any cats, so I cannot say how I’d get along with them. I’m mostly potty-trained and I like to spend time on the couch when my foster family is away. I haven't used a crate much but I can get lonely on my own, so I’m looking for a house with lots of love and another dog to play with. For this reason we use variable adoption pricing. By assigning higher adoption fees to high demand moms and puppies, we are able to rescue more families in need.The money raised through these adoptions acts as a benefactor to moms and puppies in our care who require expensive veterinary treatments, have behavioral issues, or need more time to find a home. We often reduce the adoption fees on these harder-to-place moms and puppies to help them find forever families. Adoption fees vary. Applications can be filled out at mamcorescue.org.
