Story
Meet Wilbur, the Chihuahua mix who is convinced hes actually a cat. At around 2 years old and 13 pounds, this adorable little guy prefers to observe before participating, and is a firm believer that friendship is something you earn, not something you rush. After coming from a hoarding situation, Wilbur is still learning that the world can be a safe place and hes already shown a lot of progress. He even does well with visitors and will share the couch, wander over for a curious sniff, and quietly supervise the conversation (as long as no one tries to pet him or make him the center of attention). Think of him as the cat who requires the right vibes to grace you with their presence and judgement. Aside from his charmingly cat-like personality, Wilbur is pretty close to perfect. Hes house-trained, free roam trustworthy, cat and dog friendly, and loves going for walks. He does need his own emotional support animal, meaning a calm, confident dog to help him navigate the world and remind him that everything is going to be ok. His ideal home is one that is patient, gentle, and willing to let trust unfold on his timeline. If there are kids in the home, they should be dog-savvy or older and able to respect his space. Wilbur is a healthy young dog with one important routine: daily eye drops in one eye. The good news is that hes a total pro so drops are a breeze. If youre looking for a low-key dog friend who brings calm energy, quiet loyalty, and big emotional payoff over time, Wilbur is ready to become the best part of your day. Wilbur is in foster in Loveland, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/wilbur You can apply for our wonderful dogs at https://www.milehighcanine.org/adopt/adoption-application/.

Story
At 14 years old and a fluffy 8 pounds, Lacey has officially reached the age where she has zero interest in pretending to like things she doesn’t. She made the journey from Texas after her owner passed away, and while life has changed, one thing certainly hasn’t: her confidence. This little lady knows exactly who she is, and she’s not interested in negotiating. Let’s address the elephant… or rather, the lack of teeth… in the room. Lacey has no teeth, yet she remains deeply committed to biting anyone who forgets that personal space is a privilege, not a right. Is it effective? Not really. Is the effort inspiring? Absolutely. Her tiny tongue spends most of its time sticking out of her mouth, making every dramatic glare about 75% cuter than she intends. Lacey believes affection should happen on a strict appointment-only basis. You may pet her, but only when she has decided you’ve earned the opportunity. Ironically, once you scoop her up to carry her over stairs (her luxating kneecaps mean stairs are not on the agenda), she’s perfectly content to relax in your arms and even accept some gentle pets. It’s almost like she enjoys being chauffeured. Imagine that. She’s carrying a couple of extra pounds and could stand to slim down closer to 6-7 pounds, but don’t mention that to her unless you’re feeling brave. She’d much rather discuss your life choices than her own fitness goals. Aside from her creaky little knees and carrying a few extra ounces of “retirement fluff,” Lacey seems to be a healthy senior who still has plenty of personality left to share. Lacey would do best in a home with either no kids or dog-savvy kids who understand that consent is important, especially when it comes from an opinionated Chihuahua. She could happily coexist with another mellow dog who respects her bubble, or she’d be perfectly content reigning as the one and only queen of the castle. If you’ve been searching for a tiny dog with a huge personality, endless comedic expressions, and enough sass to keep you laughing every single day, Lacey is ready to rule your home. Just remember: the throne is hers. You’re simply there to pay the rent/mortgage. Lacey is in foster in Loveland, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/lacey You can apply for our wonderful dogs at https://www.milehighcanine.org/adopt/adoption-application/.

Jackson is the cutest little chi mix puppy!! He is guessed to be a chihuahua mix, but who really knows for sure! What we do know, is he is an adorable puppy, with a great attitude, a cheerful personality and a very happy outlook on life! He is working on crate training, but as he is just a wee puppy, he is not fully potty trained yet. he will need a family committed to raising him right l, teaching him all of the important things he will need to learn to be the best little canine citizen he can be!

Story
Mia is a tiny little chi girl!! Unfortunately, life has not been easy for her, and she was left in an abandoned home when her family moved. She was sadly emaciated when she was found, and while she has recovered beautifully, she still needs to gain a bit more weight. She may be shy at first, but she is an adorable little lady, with a great attitude, a cheerful personality once she feels safe. She is crate trained, and doing great with house training too! She does wonderfully with the other dogs in her foster home too! She is a foster fave! She is around a year old and 6-7 lbs. Mia is looking for a family who will not abandon her again, so she can truly feel what it is like to be loved and safe forever!

Saturn is the cutest little chihuahua mux puppy! And oh so sweet! He is playful, smart, outgoing and affectionate. Because he is so small, we are looking for a home without small children, or a home with children where parents are committed to close supervision. He is looking for a family committed to raising him right, with good puppy training and lots of patience.
