Story
Tesha is about 9-12MO and weighs about 8lbs.  Tesha's story starting out as a hearting one, but we are hoping that with our help finding her a wonderful forever family she will never feel anything again but love, happiness, and safety.  Tesha was seen being thrown out of the window of a moving car when she was only 2 months old.  A good samaritan who saw it happen grabbed her as quickly as possible from the highway and rushed her to the emergency vet.  She spent over a month at the vet getting treated for injuries and brain swelling.  She was eventually cleared to travel to CO where she has been in foster care for a few months now.  We wanted to make sure she continued to get better and become a happy girl.  Because of her abuse, Tesha will always be a little unique with some brain ticks and quirks, but she is a happy, healthy little girl.  Here is what her foster has to say about her: "We have had her since November and there has not been a day, since she finally began trusting us, that she does not make us laugh. She takes time to warm up, to trust you, but once she does, she is a bright light. She loves to snuggle, chase a ball and bring it back, she loves to play with all our dogs and does not take no for an answer. She is a great eater, good with cats and dogs, and we are working on potty training. She is terrified of riding in cars and why wouldn’t she be since she was thrown out the window of one. If you snuggle her closely or put her in a carrier where she is safe, she is ok. She is quirky and funny and occasionally demanding of your attention, but in the cutest of ways. She would do best in a family with another dog or dogs who like to play.  She loves being loved on and really needs a family who can give her as much love as she has to give them...which is a lot, and unconditional.  If you are interested in giving this sweet girl her happily ever after, please fill out our adoption application at brighterdaysdogrescue.com ##2668218##

Story
Mr Paco loves his treats, he’ll take out of your hand but he’s afraid doesn’t like to be touched. You’ll need to gain his trust and be patient. At this time I can’t tell you how he’ll be with a harness and leash. He’s using potty pads currently. Once he finds his person and begins to trust them, I can tell he’ll be a sweetheart.  ##2661661##

Story
Pepino is a gentle, shy little guy who’s still learning how to feel safe and confident outside of the shelter environment. He’s a small-breed pup with a big heart, and he’s looking for a calm, patient home where he can truly blossom at his own pace. Pepino would do best with a compassionate and understanding adopter who can give him the time and space he needs to come out of his shell. A confident owner will help him continue building trust and confidence, especially as he navigates new experiences. He tends to feel most comfortable around dogs his own size or smaller, though he’ll need slow, thoughtful introductions to form those bonds. He’s also making steady progress with outdoor exploration, growing braver each day. A home with a secure, fenced yard would be ideal, giving Pepino a safe place to explore and gain confidence. He’s doing well with puppy pads—washable ones are recommended, as he sometimes chews disposable pads. Above all, Pepino is searching for a loving, patient person who will support him, encourage him, and show him that the world can be a safe and happy place. With time, kindness, and care, he’s sure to become a devoted and loving companion. ##2667762##

Story
** If you are interested in adopting Jake & Finn, please fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ ** Meet Jake & Finn! Jake and Finn are an adorable bonded pair of Chihuahua mixes who are searching for a loving forever home, together. Jake is the light brown one, and he is 3 years old and 15 lbs. Finn is the Gray one, and he is 3 years old and 7 lbs. These sweet boys have been through more than any dog ever should. Their lives were turned upside down when their home tragically burned down. Thankfully, both Jake and Finn made it out safely, but their family, having lost everything, heartbreakingly had to relinquish them to a shelter in New Mexico. When they arrived, they still smelled strongly of smoke… a lingering reminder of just how scary and traumatic that experience must have been. Poor, sweet boys. Jake and Finn have lived together their entire lives, and their connection is incredibly special. They bring each other comfort, confidence, and joy. In their foster home, they continue to thrive side by side. They’re happy, friendly, and social little guys. Both are very very very sweet and love to sit on your lap for cuddles. They also cuddle each other if no human laps are available. Jake and Finn are currently in a foster home with other dogs and cats and they both do great with them all. They are also potty trained, which makes the transition into their forever home that much easier! From Jake and Finn's foster: "These boys are doing great!! They are very silly and both have big personalities! They were only a tad bit shy for like the first hour home and then their personalities came right out! They do well on walks and are potty trained. They're very very sweet boys!" Adopting a bonded pair is often easier than adopting one! Jake and Finn keep each other company, help ease transitions, and provide built-in companionship, which can mean less loneliness, and a smoother adjustment into a new home. They play together, cuddle together, and truly make a little team—you’re not just adopting two dogs, you’re welcoming a ready-made family. Jake and Finn are looking for a kind, loving home that will cherish them both and keep them together forever. After everything they’ve endured, they deserve nothing less than safety, stability, and love for the rest of their lives. If you’re ready to open your heart and home to this incredible duo, Jake and Finn will repay you with double the love, double the snuggles, and double the joy. Farfel's Rescue and our New Mexico rescue partners would love to see these boys in a home with someone who works from home or is retired. We'd hate to see them left alone all day while their family works full-time outside of the home, as they are much too social for that type of arrangement. We'd like to place Finn and Jake in a home where they'll get consistent stimulation, exercise and love. A (virtual or in-person) positive reinforcement group training class promotes great behavior, bonding and confidence. Training is so important in the future behaviors of every dog. It's for this reason that we're unwilling to adopt to a family that doesn't make this loving choice. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of both in-person and virtual positive reinforcement / force- free trainers in your area. Jake and Finn are both up to date on their vaccinations, have been fully vetted, are both in great health, heartworm negative, and neutered. Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial. Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year. Applications are currently being accepted for our wonderful pup. If interested in this gorgeous, very cuddly/sweet and loving best friend, please fill out an application completely at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in many cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.
