Introducing Tiny T: Proof that Good Things Come in Small Packages Looking for a furry companion who will brighten up your life and fill your days with love and laughter? Look no further, for Tiny T is here to capture your heart and be your loyal companion for life. Tiny T may be small in stature, but he makes up for it with his larger-than-life personality. At just 1 year old, Tiny T is a fierce adventurer who loves nothing more than to chase cars on his walks. With his long, fluffy cinnamon sugar coat, he may look like a sweet treat, but he's a brave and curious explorer at heart. So if you're looking for a dog who will accompany you on all your adventures, Tiny T is the perfect match for you. But don't worry, he's also a cuddle bug who loves nothing more than to snuggle up on your lap for attention. Tiny T has been sharing a kennel with his best buddy Urkel and they are inseparable. They have formed an unbreakable bond and we believe that they should be adopted together. They make the perfect duo, with Tiny T's and will bring endless joy to your home. Tiny T gets along other dogs and dog-friendly cats. He may be tiny, but he has a huge heart and so much love to give. If you're the type of person who can shower Tiny T with love and attention, he will be your loyal and loving companion for life. He's looking for a home with a loving family who will cherish him and his BFF Urkel and give them all the love and care they deserve. They would love a home with a patient family who will train this duo to have good potty habits. Fancy Cats will work with the adopter to be sure that both Tiny T and Urkel are neutered after adoption. Adopt Tiny T and Urkel and give them the happy ending they deserve! Title: Urkel - The Nap-Loving, Lap-Sitting, People-Pleasing Chihuahua Mix Meet Urkel, a one-year-old male chihuahua mix with the most adorable quirks and the biggest heart. Urkel may be small, weighing only 14 pounds, but he has a big personality and an even bigger love for people! And he’s not alone - he comes with his best friend Tiny T, and they are looking for a loving family to call their own. Urkel's affectionate nature is one of his special traits. He is constantly by your side, always wanting to be your loyal and loving companion. And don't be surprised if he follows you around, curious to explore every nook and cranny of his new home. He especially loves to sniff around and investigate every tree, shrub, and blade of grass he comes across. But don't let his small size fool you - Urkel is an active and playful boy. After a good round of playtime, he loves to crash on the nearest warm lap or comfortable spot. He will even fall asleep sitting up because he doesn't want to miss out on any cuddles or belly rubs. Urkel gets along great with other dogs and even cats. In fact, he and Tiny T are the best of friends and must be adopted together. They have a special bond and keep each other company when their humans are away. We are looking for a loving home where Urkel and Tiny T can get all the love and attention they deserve. A home where someone is able to spend time with them and give them all the cuddles and belly rubs they want. They are both extroverted and people-pleasers, so they will thrive in a home where they can be a constant companion and soak up all the love and affection. They would love a home with a patient family who will train this duo to have good potty habits. Fancy Cats will work with the adopter to be sure that both Tiny T and Urkel are neutered after adoption. Story
Meet Luna! Luna has returned to Miri's Haven after more than a year in her adoptive home. Her owner had a medical issue and her family was unable to care for Luna. Luna returned to us completely bewildered, unsure what just happened, and with a few extra pounds that we're helping her shed with time and care. She loves sunbathing, snuggling, and taking long naps with her favorite people. She's housetrained and gets along beautifully with the other dogs in her foster home as well. Luna is approximately 9 years old and 12 lbs. Fostered in Severn, MD Please apply at MirisHaven.org

Story
We want to preface this post by saying PUPPIES AND KITTENS ARE NOT HOLIDAY GIFTS! They are life-long commitments! Small dogs can live 15+ years with appropriate care. Please do not apply unless you're willing to provide a forever home. Meet Freya (F - black and white) and Miso (M - creamy white) - these two darlings are looking for (separate) loving homes. They are approximately 9 weeks old and currently weigh under 5 pounds. They are expected to stay small, we estimate 10-20 pounds. They are purebred Heinz 57 (likely some mix of Chihuahua/Shi-Tzu/Beagle/Dachshund based on the adult dogs in the home). Freya is a puppy through and through! She is full of energy and personality. She is independent, curious, and very smart. She is super playful, but when it is time to settle down, she snuggles right in and is a sweet and cuddly little girl. Miso is a snuggle bug. Smaller and more chill than his sister, he approaches the world more slowly and is a bit more timid than Freya. He is affectionate and sweet. But also full of puppy playfulness and energy. Because they are so small and they are quite mouthy, we will not consider adopting them out to families with babies or elementary school-age children. Because they are so young, someone must be home with them most of the day. Please note: The adoption fee covers all 3 sets of puppy shots, dewormings, and spay/neuter (at age 6mths). If you are interested in adopting one of these puppies, please complete our non-binding application. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSecCc1ahjYQ9wLAzg7-n5VdaFQmxrAej-w3--E4IybCkvKOfw/viewform

Story
Meet Piglet! He’s a sentient loaf with a tender soul wrapped in a rotund exterior —like if a Hot Pocket came to life. Piglet came to Miri's at twice the weight he should be, and he has been killing the fitness game since he got here: he’s gone from 12.4 lbs to 11.7, has started conquering indoor stairs (just the “up” for now. We celebrate progress, not perfection), and his sticky neck skin is healed. He loves leash outings, and if you so much as whisper the word “walk,” he’ll bark and bounce like a snack-sized gazelle. We’re keeping up with Piglet's health regimen and cheering him on every step (or stair) of the way. Piglet is looking for his forever home… but he’s not looking that hard because he refuses to move from his current cozy spot. So you’ll have to come to him. Here's what you need to know about this friendly (and sometimes spicy) burrito: - He gets along well with other dogs and cats and would love a canine brother or sister - He's working hard on housetraining and rocking a belly band in the meanwhile - He can be left home alone without starting a riot or getting into mischief - He LOVES exploring outside and smelling all the smells - his ideal home will have a fenced in yard and a family who'll take him on lots of walks and adventures (even hikes once he's slimmed down a bit!) Piglet needs time to warm up to new people before he trusts them enough for pets (honestly, seems like a good rule for all of us). His forever family will need to be patient, go slowly with him, and learn his body language so they can tell when he's uncomfortable and give him space. But once he knows he can trust you, he is the most loving, loyal, sweet, and squishy man. Piglet thrives in chill, predictable environments. So, no toddlers, no loud parties, and definitely no surprise guests dropping by all the time. Gentle, patient humans who are home a lot? Perfect. He’s also more of a “ladies’ man” than a “dude’s dude,” so he tends to prefer women over men. Most importantly, Piglet needs a family that will help him continue on his weight-loss journey. He’s got dreams of running, jumping, and chasing squirrels like a real, active dog. Help him reach his full potential, and he’ll reward you with love, loyalty, and cuddle sessions. Currently, Piglet's breathing seems labored, which may be weight-related. He has a level three (out of five) heart murmur that does not require medication. This little burrito has a heart as big as his body and will bring his forever family an endless supply of love, joy, and laughter. Submit your application for his review today! Piglet is approximately 8 years old and 11.7 lbs. Fostered in Woodbridge, VA Please apply at MirisHaven.org

Story
Meet Ernestine, aka Tina! This dainty little queen could easily win an award for Best Actress in Being Precious. Tina was found as a stray down south, lost, frightened, and unsure of what kindness looks like. Now she’s safe at the Haven after taking her very first flight to get to us. She’s spending her time in foster care resting, healing, and learning the fine art of chihuahua diplomacy in a house full of tiny, friendly supervisors who have made her feel right at home. Tina is looking for a home with patient humans who will let her acclimate on her own timeline. While it takes her some time to trust you and she's not much for snuggling yet, she LOVES chicken jerky treats and they are a surefire way to win her heart. She bravely eats them directly from her foster mom's hand, and will even let her foster mom pick her up as long as she does it confidently. Tina is a great dining companion. As soon as her foster mom sits down to eat dinner, Tina is right in front of her asking for a seat at the table. She's not leash-trained so she'll require a fenced-in yard. She loves bouncing around her foster mom's yard like a silly, happy explorer. Tina is a sweet girl who clearly wants attention, but she isn't sure yet if it's safe. Because of this, Tina does not like being pet or cuddled yet, but she loves when people coo to her or talk gently. We hope that with time, patience, and medical care to address physical pain, she'll come around. Tina gets along well with other small dogs - we haven't had a chance to observe her with bigger ones yet. She's learning lots of new skills in her foster home and is making great progress on both stairs and housetraining. For now, she will benefit from having some potty pads around. Tina does well in the car and is happy to stay home while her humans are at work. She will need a lot of patience and time to decompress in her new home. For now, she is not ready to be petted or cuddled but she likes when people talk to her gently. She enjoys hanging out in her crate, where she feels safest. Tina is looking for a quiet, gentle, and patient forever family who will win her over one chicken jerky treat at a time. Could it be yours? Ernestine is approximately 9 years old and 10 lbs. Fostered in Richmond, VA Please apply at MirisHaven.org

Story
Meet Cornelius! Cornelius is a local celebrity, style icon, and the one-eyed bundle of love you didn’t know you needed. When we first introduced this pint-sized powerhouse, he came to us looking like he might not make it. We knew he faced an uphill battle to become healthy again, and luckily he had an unexpected fighting spirit. This resilient nugget went through massive palate reconstruction and somehow managed to just shrug it off like it was not big thing. He hasn’t missed a single beat in recovery. Cornelius is a pint-sized pirate of passion with exactly one working eye and absolutely zero sense of personal space. He’s part gremlin, part cuddlebug, and spends his evenings burrowing into blankets like a mole on a mission, staring into the middle distance with his good eye like he’s solving cosmic mysteries, and vibrating with joy anytime a snack bag crinkles within a 20-foot radius. He is all personality and loves his people - and his life - fiercely. Cornelius would love to be an only dog, but is happy to coexist with other dogs and cats if they let him be. He would love a fenced-in yard to totter around and sunbathe in. Because of his visual impairment and history of severe neglect, he can be a little spicy when surprised (or when, like any of us, he wakes up on the wrong side of the bed). But he loves his chosen people and gives the absolute best kisses and cuddles. Cornelius is approximately 12 years old, 6lbs, and absolutely epic.
