Introducing Tiny T: Proof that Good Things Come in Small Packages Looking for a furry companion who will brighten up your life and fill your days with love and laughter? Look no further, for Tiny T is here to capture your heart and be your loyal companion for life. Tiny T may be small in stature, but he makes up for it with his larger-than-life personality. At just 1 year old, Tiny T is a fierce adventurer who loves nothing more than to chase cars on his walks. With his long, fluffy cinnamon sugar coat, he may look like a sweet treat, but he's a brave and curious explorer at heart. So if you're looking for a dog who will accompany you on all your adventures, Tiny T is the perfect match for you. But don't worry, he's also a cuddle bug who loves nothing more than to snuggle up on your lap for attention. Tiny T has been sharing a kennel with his best buddy Urkel and they are inseparable. They have formed an unbreakable bond and we believe that they should be adopted together. They make the perfect duo, with Tiny T's and will bring endless joy to your home. Tiny T gets along other dogs and dog-friendly cats. He may be tiny, but he has a huge heart and so much love to give. If you're the type of person who can shower Tiny T with love and attention, he will be your loyal and loving companion for life. He's looking for a home with a loving family who will cherish him and his BFF Urkel and give them all the love and care they deserve. They would love a home with a patient family who will train this duo to have good potty habits. Fancy Cats will work with the adopter to be sure that both Tiny T and Urkel are neutered after adoption. Adopt Tiny T and Urkel and give them the happy ending they deserve! Title: Urkel - The Nap-Loving, Lap-Sitting, People-Pleasing Chihuahua Mix Meet Urkel, a one-year-old male chihuahua mix with the most adorable quirks and the biggest heart. Urkel may be small, weighing only 14 pounds, but he has a big personality and an even bigger love for people! And he’s not alone - he comes with his best friend Tiny T, and they are looking for a loving family to call their own. Urkel's affectionate nature is one of his special traits. He is constantly by your side, always wanting to be your loyal and loving companion. And don't be surprised if he follows you around, curious to explore every nook and cranny of his new home. He especially loves to sniff around and investigate every tree, shrub, and blade of grass he comes across. But don't let his small size fool you - Urkel is an active and playful boy. After a good round of playtime, he loves to crash on the nearest warm lap or comfortable spot. He will even fall asleep sitting up because he doesn't want to miss out on any cuddles or belly rubs. Urkel gets along great with other dogs and even cats. In fact, he and Tiny T are the best of friends and must be adopted together. They have a special bond and keep each other company when their humans are away. We are looking for a loving home where Urkel and Tiny T can get all the love and attention they deserve. A home where someone is able to spend time with them and give them all the cuddles and belly rubs they want. They are both extroverted and people-pleasers, so they will thrive in a home where they can be a constant companion and soak up all the love and affection. They would love a home with a patient family who will train this duo to have good potty habits. Fancy Cats will work with the adopter to be sure that both Tiny T and Urkel are neutered after adoption. Story
Meet Cornelius! Cornelius is a local celebrity, style icon, tiny warlord, and one-eyed lovebug all wrapped into one perfect, mostly hairless package. How can a dog be all these things at once? We ask ourselves this every day. When we first met this pint-sized powerhouse, he came to us completely shut down. We were not sure he was going to make it through his first few days, but boy were we wrong. Through sheer force of will, this resilient nugget went through a massive palate reconstruction and somehow managed to sneeze it off like it was nothing. He hasn’t missed a single beat since. Cornelius is a pint-sized pirate of passion with exactly one working eye and absolutely zero sense of personal space. He’s part gremlin, part cuddlebug, and spends his evenings burrowing into blankets like a mole on a mission, staring into the middle distance with his good eye like he’s solving cosmic mysteries, and vibrating with joy anytime a snack bag crinkles within a 20-foot radius. Cornelius may be small, but he has big opinions. He chooses his people selectively and mainly loves one person at a time. He is all personality and heart, and loves his chosen person fiercely - though he will absolutely still give them the occasional reminder that he likes things done his way. Fortunately, his reminders aren't too painful since he only has two teeth (don't tell him that). Because of this, he needs a home without small children. Cornelius thrives on routine and spends his days rotating between his foster mom's lap and a dog bed. He sleeps most of the time but enjoys quiet companionship and soaking in sunshine when it's nice out. He is looking for a home that is generally calm and quiet without too many people coming and going, where he can enjoy a peaceful retirement with his chosen person. A potty pad expert, Cornelius would like to continue using them in his forever home. He takes mealtime very seriously - he knows exactly when it is and eats with astounding focus until he's finished every bite. He will also scurry around the house looking for stray crumbs like a hardened homicide detective on a case. Cornelius would love to be an only dog but is happy to coexist with other dogs his size if they let him be. Because of his visual impairment and history of severe neglect, he can be spicy when surprised by other dogs or by humans. With time he has become more tolerant of sharing his space with other dogs, but he will default to defense mode if surprised. Since his defense mode has very limited impact due to his tooth situation, it's important that any other dogs in the home ignore it vs. reacting to it. The key to Cornelius's heart is time, patience, and a willingness to love him for exactly who he is - sometimes sweet, sometimes spicy, always entertaining. Earning his trust is a process, but more than worth the wait. While he may not offer the warmest welcome when you first meet him, give him a little time to adjust and you'll wonder how you ever lived without him. Cornelius is approximately 12 years old, 6 lbs, and absolutely epic.

Story
Meet Ernestine, aka Tina! This elegant queen has fully settled into her routine and is living her best life. Tina was found as a stray down south, lost, frightened, and unsure of what kindness looks like. Now she’s safe at the Haven after taking her very first flight to get to us. She’s spending her time in foster care resting, healing, and learning the fine art of chihuahua diplomacy in a house full of tiny, friendly supervisors who have made her feel right at home. Tina adores exploring the yard at her own pace, following foster mom around for treats, and supervising household activities like a tiny, silent CEO. She still isn’t a fan of being handled, and leash training… well… let’s call it a journey. She does great once the leash is on, but getting it on and off? Absolutely not. A fenced yard would be ideal for her comfort and peace. Tina is a wonderfully independent girl who would love a calm home where she can just chill out, vibe, and socialize when food is involved. She’s not a cuddle bug, and she’ll tell you that herself, but she’s a lovely companion for anyone who appreciates quiet company, a gentle presence, and a little lady who lives life on her own terms. Tina is looking for a home with patient humans who will let her acclimate on her own timeline. While it takes her some time to trust you and she's not much for snuggling yet, she LOVES chicken jerky treats and they are a surefire way to win her heart. She bravely eats them directly from her foster mom's hand, and will even let her foster mom pick her up as long as she does it confidently. Tina enjoys company, but not being handled. She has recently permitted foster mom the honor of delivering chin rubs, which is basically her version of signing a peace treaty. She will sit nearby while you exist ~ as a listener, a witness, a small supervisor with opinions about the crinkle of packaging and the exact time dinner should have been served. She is deeply bossy about food and deeply uninterested in being carried, hugged, or otherwise arranged. You talk, she listens, and occasionally she comes over to confirm you still possess snacks. Tina enjoys toddling behind her foster mom from room to room, selecting cozy beds the way some of us collect throw pillows. And she is a great dining companion: as soon as her foster mom sits down to eat dinner, Tina is right in front of her asking for a seat at the table. She's building her leash walking skills and making great progress, but she'd love a home with a fenced-in yard where she can bounce arond like a silly, happy explorer. Tina gets along well with other small dogs; we haven't had a chance to observe her with bigger ones yet. She's learning lots of new skills in her foster home and is making great progress on both stairs and housetraining. For now, she will benefit from having some potty pads around. She does well in the car and is happy to stay home while her humans are at work. Tina would love a quiet home where she can exist alongside you, request snacks, and occasionally socialize on her terms. She is a companion in the truest sense: present, steady, and never overwhelming. Tina is looking for a quiet, gentle, and patient forever family where she is loved just as she is. Could it be yours? Ernestine is approximately 9 years old and 10 lbs. Fostered in Richmond, VA Please apply at MirisHaven.org

Story
Meet Bea, aka Bea Arthur! This local tripod and professional blanket architect is officially accepting applications for her furever home. Bea is a blind, feisty pup who is searching for a residence with a serious surplus of cozy blankets so she can construct what is formally known as the Bea Arthur Fort for Wayward Chis ~ a heavily fortified blanket structure from which she will growl warnings, issue boundaries, and rule her tiny kingdom with absolute authority. Once burrowed beneath her favorite blanket, Bea is known to emit a low, ominous growl to remind everyone that peace is fragile and she is not to be trifled with. Whether stationed in an open crate for safety or a carefully selected dog bed, Bea expects respect. Other dogs loitering about the grounds should watch their step. Bea also conducts a nightly midnight stroll of the premises, during which she may ~ or may not ~ accept snuggles. It’s a roll of the dice. Bea is a true survivor. When she arrived, her shoulder was dislocated beyond repair, and required amputation for a life without chronic pain. True to form, she was up and hopping the very next day. She is small, tough, opinionated, and absolutely unforgettable. Bea is excellent with potty pads, enjoys a brief but very important yard sniff, and requires 100% blanket coverage while resting. While wrapped like a burrito, she expects to be left entirely alone. This is non-negotiable. Violators will be corrected verbally. Bea also prefers to be the only dog so she can soak up all the love and run the household without interference. In return, she promises endless entertainment, big personality, and Bea Arthur–level comedic timing. We adore this little squirrel and know her forever home is right around the corner. Bea is approximately 9 years old and 4 lbs. Fostered in Rockville, MD Please apply at MirisHaven.org

Story
Meet Farley! If you’re looking for a soul who radiates quiet happiness, Farley is your boy. Farley is pure joy in a tiny, wobbly, perpetually-smiling package. He greets every moment with gratitude ~ a gentle tail wag if you speak his name, a soft little grin when you reach down to pet him. And if you scratch his butt? He immediately melts into the world’s most committed sploot. Farley's favorite pastime is simply *being near*. He putters around our headquarters like the sweetest grandfather you can imagine…popping in to check on you, then wandering off again to see if the sun is shining in a new corner of the yard, if maybe the breeze smells a little different today. He doesn’t hurry. He doesn’t demand. He just exists with quiet delight and lets you feel it too. In the yard, he takes in the world slowly and gratefully, sniffing the grass, feeling the warmth on his back, letting time move gently around him. Walks aren’t really his thing. His pace is thoughtful, not rushed, so a fenced-in yard to explore would be ideal. Farley is wonderful with other dogs, big and small. His triangle tail never stops wagging around them, as if every friend he meets adds a little more sunshine to his day. He coexists peacefully with cats and is fully housebroken. Like many seniors, his sight isn’t what it once was, so stairs should be blocked and he’ll need a helping lift when moving between levels. He also has a mild trachea issue that causes a cough, but it’s well managed with medication. Butt scratches also appear to instantly cure his cough - we don’t understand the science, but Farley sure does. Farley is a gentle soul. He may be wobbly and a bit crusty around the edges, but he brightens every room he enters just by showing up and smiling. He deserves a home that sees the beauty in an old dog with a grateful heart. We promised him he would find love again, and we intend to keep that promise. Farley deserves a second chance at love and we’re going to make sure he gets it. Apply today to meet this ray of sunshine! Farley is approximately 13 years old and 16 lbs. Fostered in Rockville, MD Please apply at MirisHaven.org
