He is being fostered in Happy Valley, Oregon by a good samaritan who was kind enough to take him in and get him to the vet to be seen. Vets then discovered that Mijou had terrible teeth as many small breed dogs do if not cared for and cleaned regularly. The poor little guy had several teeth pulled and now displays two teefs on his lower jaw giving him the appearance of a wart hog....what a conversation starter that'll be when taking him out for a stroll! Mijou Stays in an exercise pen when his Foster mom is at work so hes doing fine being contained for several hours during the work day. He gets along fine with other small dogs in his foster home.... he has not been cat tested or tested with large dogs at this time. He is neutered, fully utd on shots and just had a dental procedure as explained above. Mijou's due for a stable forever home as he's been passed around like someone's unwanted holiday fruitcake for most of his life! Just not fair! I took this pet in his owners were going into a nursing home, and they could not take him so they asked me to rehome him. He’s very cute, playful loving, but he’s very territorial with his people. I have trained him to go to his crate, so he sleeps in there at night, he really needs people that will love him train him. Well we just cannot have two dogs where we live. He comes with the crate, some dog food, his dog dish toys which he loves.

Meet APPLE If you are interested in giving APPLE the bestest life ever, please contact colleen@startrescue.org . APPLE is officially the sweetest little ray of sunshine, and in our opinion, she is absolutely perfect in every way. She is such a good little girl and easy to love. She gets along with all dogs and she loves to play with them. She loves hikes, nature walks and anything to do with trails. She will jump on rocks, run down hills and gallivant on beach! Apple loves toys and will happily entertain herself (and you!) for a very long while with them. Apple is a huge cuddler! She will happily spend hours on the couch or in a bed with you. APPLE was rescued as a paralyzed dog from a shelter that was going to euthanize her but clearly now she is WALKING and RUNNING and ready for a home of her very own. APPLE loves dogs, cats, and people. She can be a little timid at first with very large dogs and very tall men, but then her joyful side comes out. When walking down the street she might be scared to walk past a strange tall man (scary!). She was also scared of cars and bikes (she was probably hit by a car), but she is doing much better now! She can actually go to a brewery and sit and be calm with the action going on around her. Apple will need an adopter who is willing to learn to express her bladder and bowels, so that she can urinate (it’s not complicated, but is necessary). Her foster says, " she is actually easier and faster than my owndogs, who take forever out in the yard!" She will need to physical therapy at home (massaging and little stretching and keeping active) to keep her loose. We will be sending her off with love and some FREE (paid for by us) visits to set you up for success with a PT specialist. Apple cannot bend her back legs. I am looking for a new home for this bonded pair, Zara and Diego. Zara is a 3.5 year old tan min pin/dachschund mix. Diego is a 2.5 year old Chihuahua mix. Both were adopted from the Oregon Humane Society when they were puppies. They have been best friends since they met and will need a loving, active home. My husband and I have a baby and we are unable to meet Zara and Diego's needs. They are used to being loved and doted on. They enjoy going on walks and adventures every day, and definitely need time outside. When they are inside, they enjoy snuggling and hanging out. They will never be far away. An ideal home is one that is active and does not have younger kids.

Zara and Diego are a bonded pair. They were both rescued from the Oregon Humane Society and have been best friends since they met several years ago. Zara (orange/tan one) is a 5-year-old female chihuahua/dachshund mix. Diego (blonde one) is a 4-year-old male chihuahua mix. Both dogs are sweet, love to receive attention and snuggle, go on daily adventures and enjoy good homemade food. I am re homing them because I have a baby (as well as an older dog) and can no longer give Zara and Diego the attention they deserve. I am looking for someone who wants nothing more than to spoil these sweet little souls as their very own fur babies. It's been a heartbreaking decision to re home them, so I am looking for the perfect home.
