Story
This is Pip. I love this dog, but life circumstances mean that I can no longer care for him. It breaks my heart. I'm hoping Pip can find a loving home for him (and Ideally his brother-in-paw) to live out the rest of his days. Pip is 9, so he still has a lot of life left in him. The good is that he's the best cuddler ever, he's very caring and sweet. He loves to play and frankly would benefit from more exercise and attention than I've been able to provide for him. Unfortunately, Pip is a kind of rescue and has some baggage from his earlier life. In particular he is very anxious, (especially towards men) and has been on a years long journey to improve his barking and nipping. In addition, his front right leg has a limp from a previous injury that never healed quite right. He still maintains a happy life, but he's especially neurotic when his leg is agitated. Pip has been a very kind loving soul in my life. I deeply regret that I have to let him go, he deserves the best.

Story
Sweet 9‑Year‑Old Chihuahua – Free to the Right Home This is a very difficult decision for our family, but we are looking to re‑home our 9‑year‑old Chihuahua to a loving, calm home where he can truly thrive. He is an incredibly sweet dog who loves people and enjoys attention. He bonds closely with his person and would do best as an only pet, ideally with an older individual or couple who is home much of the day and can give him the one‑on‑one companionship he craves. Since we introduced a Yorkie puppy last year, he has struggled with stress and jealousy. While he is wonderful with people, he has shown that he does not do well sharing his home with a puppy. Duke is free to a good home only. Our priority is finding the right fit and ensuring he goes to someone who will give him the attention he craves. If you believe you could provide a safe, loving home, please message us. Gabe & Family

What my friends at OHS say about me:I have been working with the Behavior team at OHS and I'm looking for a special home. It will take time and patience to get to know me. Click the "meet me" button to start the process and schedule an appointment. To learn more about my specific needs, please read my What to Expect handout.Shy and Nervous: I can be worried about new people, new surroundings and touch. I prefer to take things at my own pace and will need to live in a calm environment.I am a sweet and sensitive boy who takes a little time to build trust and make friends.I like to make my way through life at a slower pace: short walks, lots of naps, and savoring tasty food.I'm a petite guy but pack a ton of personality into this small package!I am still learning how to walk on leash, especially in new environments that can be overwhelming. I need verbal encouragement, patience and of course treats from you to help me!The type of home I'm looking for:I need to be the only dog in the home.I need a home without cats or other small animals.I may do best with an owner who has had experience owning or caring for shy and fearful dogs.I need to go to an adult only home.It could be with you! Story
**Please note this pet is currently out of town pet but we will transport this pet to OR for you when adopted. All fees listed include transport fees.** Meet Widget Widget is a 12-year-old, 10 pound male Chihuahua mix with the heart of a true gentleman. He recently lost his home when his owner could no longer care for him, and now he’s hoping to find a soft place to land for his golden years. Easygoing and laid back, Widget is a sweet little lapdog who enjoys being petted and spending quiet time with his people. He gets along well with other dogs and has been lovingly pampered and well cared for his entire life. His experience with cats is unknown. Widget has a history of allergies and has tried several treatments over the years. His current diet—avoiding chicken and beef—has made a big difference, and his skin is now healthy and pink instead of itchy. He does have occasional seizures and is on medication to manage them. Widget would thrive in a calm, loving home where he can relax, feel safe, and enjoy plenty of affection. If you’re looking to open your heart to a sweet senior who still has so much love to give, Widget may be the perfect companion. Interested in becoming a forever home for Widget? **Please note this is pet is currently out of town pet but we will transport this pet to OR for you when adopted. All fees listed include transport fees.** Meet Noodle Al Dente! This adorable 1-year-old, 9-pound Chihuahua boy is as sweet as his name suggests! Noodle Al Dente may be a little shy when he first meets new people, but give him a moment to warm up and you’ll discover a truly lovable, affectionate companion who wants nothing more than to be by your side. Noodle walks nicely on a leash and enjoys spending time with his people. He gets along well with other dogs and would be happy to have a furry friend in his new home. He loves his toys and running aorund outside. He’s currently working on his house and crate training and is making great progress with a consistent routine. Now he’s ready for a fresh start and a forever family who will love him for the sweet, sensitive, loyal boy he is. If you’re looking for a gentle, heart-melting companion with a cute name and an even cuter personality, Noodle Al Dente might be your perfect match! Interested in becoming a forever home for Noodle? Rascal Lovebug is a 10-month-old male Chihuahua mix with a heart full of love and a personality that lives up to his name. Weighing about 19 pounds, he’s the perfect blend of playful energy and cuddle-ready sweetness. This handsome boy is super sweet and affectionate and absolutely adores cuddling with his people. He loves being around people and other dogs and enjoys making new friends wherever he goes. When he’s not soaking up affection, Rascal Lovebug is happiest running and playing outside, burning off his puppy energy and having fun. Rascal is doing great with house training and crate training, and he’s continuing to improve his leash skills—he’s making very good progress and eager to keep learning. He’s a smart, happy pup who just wants to please. Rascal Lovebug does have a grade 5 heart murmur, but it certainly doesn’t define him. He doesn’t let it slow him down and continues to live life with joy, enthusiasm, and plenty of tail wags. If you’re looking for a loving, playful, and affectionate companion who will happily curl up in your arms after a fun day outside, Rascal Lovebug may be the perfect match for you!
