Buffy is perhaps the cutest, super buff little lady ever! She was a bodybuilder in her past life for sure. She loves other dogs and is currently fostering with multiple pups and humans, too. Buffy was VERY shy of humans and would hide away, but now she likes to hang around and even sleep in a human bed. She is ready to start receiving affection soon but has been hands off for the most part. Buffy needs a patient person to bring her out of her shell the rest of the way. She is spayed and vaccinated. Meet Paco — the pint-sized adventurer with the floppiest ears, a heart full of love, and the sweetest little smile you’ve ever seen! 🌞 This tiny chihuahua-terrier mix (your guess is as good as ours — rescue magic at its finest!) is about 2 years young and ready to find his forever person. He’s got this perfect tan-red coat that practically glows in the sunshine, and eyes so big and brown they could melt a popsicle in January. Paco may be small, but his personality has layers like a fancy little dog burrito — soft, spicy, and a little shy at first taste. He’s the kind of boy who takes his time to trust new people, but once he does? He’s your best buddy, loyal nap partner, and possibly your personal shadow. He’s incredibly sweet with his foster parents and just needs someone patient enough to let him open up on his own timeline. Paco would do best with a low to medium-energy dog friend who will let him come around naturally — no pushy pups, please! When it comes to cats, Paco is what we’d call “cat curious but cautious.” He met a calm kitty named Biggie and did great — a little nervous, but respectful and tolerant. A chill, dog-savvy cat who doesn’t mind a nervous little dog would be perfectly fine for him. As for kids, Paco hasn’t been officially kid-tested yet, but given how shy he can be, he’d probably prefer a calm, adult home or one with older, dog-savvy teens who understand that good things (and tail wags) take time. This little man is not cut out for apartment living — he’s more of a “quiet home with a yard” type of guy. New noises, fast movements, and big groups of people can overwhelm him. He’ll thrive in a peaceful home with gentle routines, understanding humans, and maybe a friendly dog to help show him the ropes. This cutie is Peanut Chi. He is around 4 months old and under 9 lbs. We think he may be a *Chihuahua Mix*, but with rescue it’s a guess! What matters most is that he is adorable and from one of the MOST desperate areas in the entire US based on statistics. Shelters in this area are having to euthanize puppies. So, this puppy needs you! If you choose a puppy from us, it saves their life as well as the life of another. Peanut has been in a loving foster home since he was under a week old, growing up alongside his mom, siblings, resident adult dogs, and rotating foster dogs of all breeds and sizes. Thanks to that early and consistent socialization, Peanut is wonderfully well-adjusted and truly does amazing with everyone he meets. He’s a neighborhood favorite with adults, kids, and dogs alike. Peanut is currently working on his leash skills... he’s still deciding how he feels about it but his confidence shines in other ways. He loves playing chase in the yard with his humans and happily tries to join in on the big dogs’ playtime (while smartly knowing wrestling with 60-lb friends is not his lane). After playtime, Peanut is happiest curling up for a nap on his foster mom’s feet or in her lap while she works, content just being close and part of the day. He’s also working on potty training. Because he has access to water around the clock, he needs nighttime potty breaks. When his foster parents are away, Peanut does great relaxing in a pen with his toys and a pee pad, a setup that keeps him safe and sets him up for success as he continues to grow and learn. Peanut’s days are happily simple and full of companionship. His foster parents work from home, so he’s always surrounded by people and dogs. He starts his mornings by heading straight outside, then comes in for breakfast before settling in with his foster mom to play with toys and “help” with morning chores by chasing her around the house. The rest of the day follows a perfect puppy rhythm: play, eat, sleep... and repeat! With Texas weather being unpredictable, Peanut has built quite the wardrobe and is very agreeable about getting dressed. He’s a total sweetheart who loves to snuggle into the crook of his foster mom’s neck and give the softest kisses. Like any puppy, Peanut is still learning his manners and may occasionally chew on fingers or toes, but he’s easily redirected with a toy. He’s very social and thrives on companionship, so he would do best in a home that offers plenty of interaction, ideally with another friendly dog and access to a safe outdoor space where he can explore, play, and soak up the sun. Peanut is still very young and will need a family that can commit to training, socialization and all the dedication puppyhood requires. A puppy is discovering new things that shape their personalities with each passing day. Implementing routine, structure, setting boundaries, and proper socialization is key from the start. Who’s tiny, white, curly and extra fluffy? Well, that’s Oscar for you! Oscar is a great boy who is learning the ways of the world. We estimate him to be about 3 years old. His tiny size comes from his Maltese Chihuahua roots if we’re going off of his good looks. Breed is never guaranteed in rescue— All we can do is guess! Oscar is about 15 pounds of pure lap dog though. Regardless of breed, these dogs are one of a kind. But especially Oscar! Oscar is currently in a loving foster home where he is fostered with other small dogs of his likeness. 7 dogs at that! He is having a great time learning all about toys, treats, and all things good. It’s been a pleasure to see him blossom into a playful little guy. One of his foster siblings is 19 years old, and Oscar makes sure he is gentle with her, never bothering her and taking corrections well. He is so funny— him and his siblings often play musical bowls, sharing their food at each meal time with no issues. They just move from one to the other. Sharing is caring! His Foster says the Oscar is trusted to free Roam in the house and that he sleeps in bed with her at night. What a little cuddle bug! Oscar often finds himself on anything soft like the couch or his cozy dog bed on the floor. He doesn’t mind snuggling up with his new siblings and he’s always sitting on the porch with them enjoying the evening sounds. He will be your perfect morning coffee buddy watching you make breakfast in the kitchen and sitting outside enjoying the nice sunrise with you. Or sunset! Oscar isn’t picky, but you can tell that he is so thankful to be saved. We believe Oscar would be best in a home with a yard only because he loves being outside so much. His Foster will always find him in the shady spot underneath her sunflowers or following around the Blue Jays that she feeds. Sounds like it’s straight out of a movie! It’s almost like he is enjoying all of the little things that he didn’t get before he came to us. Although we haven’t seen Oscar with kids just yet we do believe the older kids would be best for this guy only because of his timidness. Like we said, he prefers to take things slow and he would he would love a life with a routine and calmness. Gentleness is the best thing about Oscar and he just craves peacefulness. Older kiddos that can understand and respect. His boundaries would be best! We have not seen him with kitties either, but we do believe that Oscar would be all right with a cat only because of his size. Eventually, he may want to play so we’re not recommending a home with just one kitty, but kitties and dogs alike would be fine. What rhymes with cute? Scoot! Of course it does because Snoot sure is cute! This little guy showed up and honestly ran off with my whole heart! From the moment I picked him up and he melted into my arms, I knew he was going to be a special one and that he was. He has little legs, a long body, and a perfectly curled tail so he could be a whole bunch of things. Whatever his breed is, he loves people, is gentle and affectionate with a calm presence. Scoot is living in a foster home and has met a variety of dogs though he is most comfortable with a friend who is similarly sized to him. Because he is growing and changing we anticipate he could be comfortable with any size dog though he would prefer a more peaceful home to match his energy. It is easy to see Scoot being someones adoring lap dog. He absolutely glows when you sweet talk him and melts at the chance to curl up next to you for a belly rub or just being close. Meet Rowena – A Sweet, Shy Soul Ready to Bloom At just 1 year old, Rowena is a young chihuahua with a gentle heart and a playful spirit waiting to shine. Though she’s still learning the ropes of human companionship, this little girl is full of personality and potential. Rowena is looking for a calm, patient home where she can truly come out of her shell. She’s not suited for apartment or townhome living just yet, as she’s still figuring out how to walk on a leash and can be easily overwhelmed by busy surroundings. What she does need is a confident dog friend to help guide her and show her the joys of being part of a loving home. She’s most comfortable around other dogs and tends to follow their lead. She may approach people when near a dog she trusts, but she’s still learning how to accept affection—she wants to connect but isn’t quite sure how yet. With time, gentleness, and understanding, she’ll come to you slowly and submissively, building trust one small step at a time. Outdoors, Rowena truly comes alive—she runs, plays, and loves to soak up the sun next to her dog friends. Her silly and goofy side is already peeking through, and with your patience, her bright little personality will blossom more each day. We travel to WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT and Canada (Canadian adopters will need to pick up in Bellingham, WA  or Brattleboro, VT for the eastern Canadian border)! Our pups travel in comfort with 24/7 care on our USDA licensed vehicles, including buses and cargo vans. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!    Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.   Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.    The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs.   It doesn’t stop there!
