Nights will never be lonely again with Bob by your side!He’s dog friendly, but LOVES his human more. Bob is house trained with frequent visits outside and crate trained, but he’d rather stay with you.At a teeny 8lbs, Bob would make a great addition to an adults only household willing to let him decompress for a few days, as he gets to know you and your routine. As a timid Chihuahua, he’ll need a day or two to adjust and someone who is patient enough to allow Bob to come to them. After that he’s the best little companion. Rescued from a hoarding situation with many other small dogs, she is still learning what it means to feel safe, loved, and part of a family. Portland enjoys simple comforts — spending time in a secure yard, relaxing on a soft blanket, and playing with toys (especially the ones she can expertly de squeak). She is heartworm negative, vaccinated, spayed, crate trained, and making steady progress with house training while reliably using puppy pads.Because of her past, Portland is very shy and can become easily overwhelmed or feel unsure. In those moments, she can show fear based reactivity, which is her way of communicating that she needs more space and time to feel safe. Meet PunkyWhen Punky first came to our home in February, he was terrified of people. He wouldn`t stay in the same room with us, and if he got loose, we`d have to gently herd him back because he was so afraid. Today, thanks to patience, routine, and lots of gentle encouragement, he has made incredible progress.He now happily follows commands to go outside into our fenced yard or come back inside, is completely house-trained and crate-trained, and walks nicely on a leash. He gets along wonderfully with our other dogs and enjoys being part of the pack. He even taught our terrier how to catch treats in his mouth. He`s also a great little watchdog, barking only when he notices unfamiliar people around the neighborhood.While he`s still a shy boy, every week brings another small victory. He`ll relax on the couch with you—usually about three feet away—and is content just being near his people. He still isn`t confident enough to climb into your lap on his own, so you`ll need to gently pick him up from his bed if you`d like to hold him. Once he`s there, he settles in quietly.Punky isn`t looking for a family that expects an instant cuddle bug. He`s looking for someone who understands that trust is earned and that the biggest rewards come from watching a timid dog blossom. His ideal home will be calm, patient, and willing to let him move at his own pace. Having another friendly, confident dog would likely help him continue building his confidence.If you`ve ever wanted to be the person who changes a dog`s world, Punky is ready to meet you.
