Jordy is a five year old chihuahua mix male dog. He was neglected for a very long time and is cautious about humans. However, he is very sweet and highly motivated with food. Since being in foster home, Jordy has learned to trust people and other dogs again. Currently he is learning how to walk on a leash. Additionally, he is very smart and has learned how to use the doggie door to go in and out of the house. He is also potty trained. All children in the home must be at least 5 years of age. We appreciate your understanding of these policies. Alvin and his 5 siblings arrived from Sourh TX after their mom was killed and they desperately needed a rescue to take them in. Amazingly we had 2 foster homes step up to bottle feed so these babies truly have been loved and spoiled their whole lives. They are approx 10 weeks old as of 12/15 and they are thriving, happy, healthy pups! Their mom was approx 10 lbs so we expect them to be small when full grown. Like all puppies, Alvin needs an adopter who is willing to train and work with him to help him be the best dog he can be. Mavis is an adorable 8 pound Chihuahua, who is fully vetted and ready to find her forever home! She is a cuddler...loves to be on your lap, or right next to you, snuggled up. Mavis is not a fan of being in a kennel, and will climb right over a doggy gate. She loves to "go"...car rides, walks, etc.,...she is always ready!! She does need to be watched carefully, if you are coming and going, as she will bolt out the door, if given the opportunity. Mavis is just a sweet little baby who loves to be carried around, and sleep in the bed with her human. She is not a fan of large dogs. Whether it's out of fear or resource guarding, she does tend to lash out, and let them know "she is the boss". Mavis is good with children of all ages, but due to her size, a household with children 9 yrs or older, is preferred. She has not had exposure to cats, since joining our rescue. Honey is a 2 year old, 8 lb Chihuahua mix. She has a beautiful honey-colored coat and white chest and paws. Of course, she has the typical Chihuahua "squint-eye", which is so cute and will make you smile. Honey is a little timid at first but warms up quickly. She loves to go outside and run and investigate, but due to her small size, she should not go outside alone. She loves mealtime and snacks, and she may try to sneak a bite of the other dogs' food. No aggression at all, but probably best to feed her in her crate or another room. Honey is making great progress on her potty training and has already learned to go to the door when she needs to go outside. She gets along just fine with other dogs, but she could also be an only, as long as she gets lots of attention from her people. Dory is a 6 year old, 14 lb Chihuahua/Dachshund mix. She is over-the-top cute with her unique markings, ears that look like she could take off flying at any moment, and her short little legs. Foster mom says she is a sweet girl who just wants to be loved on and get belly rubs. Dory is very well behaved in the house and wants to be with her people as much as possible. Dory lost her back leg due to an accident a few years ago, but that doesn't affect her one little bit. She still loves to go on walks, and currently walks at least a mile a day with foster mom. She can still find a way to get up on the couch to snuggle next to her person. She rides well in the car and likes to ride along with foster mom when she runs errands. Dory loves her furry igloo bed, and is the ultimate cuddle bug. Dory can get a little nervous if there is a lot going on around her, so she needs a quiet, low activity home. She doesn't live with other dogs now, but we think she would be fine with another calm dog.
