Story
Meet Tilly! This sweet little lady is a 9-year-old Chihuahua with a heart full of love and a spirit that refuses to be dimmed. After spending years being neglected and ultimately dropped off at the shelter by the only family she knew, Tilly has shown incredible resilience. She holds no grudges—just an endless supply of affection and a readiness to be someone’s loyal companion. Tilly is the ultimate little shadow. She loves to follow her person around, quietly soaking up the comfort of simply being close. She’s low-energy, perfectly content lounging in a cozy dog bed, but she’ll occasionally surprise you with a playful moment, tossing toys around or engaging in a gentle game with another dog. She does well with other dogs but prefers not to share her food or kennel—which is understandable given her past. All of Tilly’s medical needs have now been fully addressed, and she’s ready to spend her golden years cherished and adored the way she deserves. If you're looking for a quiet, loving companion who just wants to be by your side, Tilly would love to meet you. Tilly is proof that even after a rough start, love and loyalty can shine brighter than anything else. Could you be the family she’s been waiting for? Story
Willoughby is an 11 year old, 10 lb Chihuahua mix, and we think he may be part Miniature Pinscher. This senior fellow was living a perfectly happy life until his beloved person became ill and could no longer care for him. Humane Tomorrow promised that we would find another great home for him. Foster mom calls him Willy for short, and she says that he is a little cuddle bug. He would love nothing more than to lay in your lap and get lots of petting. He also likes to chew on his little toy, but that's about the extent of his playing. Willy has been through a big change in his life, so he is a little shy at first and may take a little time to warm up and trust. Once he does, he just wants love. He is housetrained and well behaved. If you would like to give Willy a second chance, please submit your application at www.humanetomorrow.org, and one of our adoption counselors will contact you.

Story
Meet Shadow, an 8 month old puppy that weighs only 17 lbs. After extensive research (Google), we think Shadow is a Chihuahua/Kelpie mix. No guarantees though! Shadow is a charming canine companion who brings his passion for toys (especially the squeaky ones) and play to every encounter. As a crate trained pup, Shadow does the indoor/outdoor thing to a T. He loves to be on his person’s lap when inside – but outside, he will play chase and retrieve with any squeaky toy (the smaller ones that can be thrown farther are his favorites!). He is a little cautious and wary when meeting new people (especially men) or new dogs, but once he knows your intentions are good, he warms up. He is still discovering the idea of boundaries (not sure why you don’t want him in your lap ALL the time!). He is respectful of the older, smaller dogs when they choose not to play, and he is learning how to play with the other dogs. He has one special playmate that they play chase all the time. With a love for attention, he forms deep connections with humans, craving affection and companionship. While he loves to be outdoors, if out for too long by himself, he starts looking for his people, thinking he is missing out on something, somewhere. We think he would be good with older kids – possibly a little too rambunctious and bouncy for toddlers, although he is always wary of new people. He is very bright and wants to please so is wide open to training. He needs someone to be patient with him as he adjusts to new people and places. If you are interested in Shadow, please complete an application and one of our adoption counselors will contact you.

If you are interested in adopting, please text us at 817-658-9738 and we`ll send you the link to our Pre-application. Or copy and paste this link into your browser... https://form.jotform.us/asr628/ShortAdoptionInquiry Hi my name is Sissy and I`m very shy and very timid but once I get to know you I can be your little lap baby. I get along with my little sibling and other little dogs. I could be quite adventurous so you`d have to watch the doors, the car doors, the garage and the fence. I want to go check out the neighborhood. I`d like a family that would give me a little time to adjust and a little patience and understanding. It can be a little bit of a food hog and I don`t like to share my food, but I`m learning. I`m also learning how to walk on a leash. I`m looking for forever family to call my own and love me forever and always unconditionally. Could you be the one? Born in 2012 and located in a foster home. Included with adoption: Age-appropriate vaccinations, up to date heart-worm preventative, heart-worm test if over 6 months, microchip with registration, and spayed or neutered- if not already, a voucher is provided.
