Story
Peanut is 4 years old and 6 pounds of pure Chihuahua joy. He is a fun, funny and affectionate dog. Once Peanut decides to trust you (more on this later), he will stick to you like glue. He sits around hoping you decide to watch television so he can plant his adorable little body comfortably on your lap and stay there, preferably forever. He loves ear scratches, butt scritches and most of all, tummy rubs. He is extremely affectionate and a perfect companion. HOWEVER, Peanut will require some patience up front. When he came to his foster home, he was terrified and would not let foster dogmom even touch him for 4 days. After a week he was behaving like a normal dog and after two weeks, he decided he was the luckiest dog in the world. He is afraid of all people who come to the house and either hides from them or barks at them. But if you are looking for a faithful companion for you and you have a quiet house, he will be a perfect dog. He’s a very easy little guy to love. Peanut has his manners down. He is housetrained, but count on this taking a little time as you will have to adjust to his schedule. He is not destructive at all. Even when he gets hold of socks—which he loves—he does not chew holes in them. He just moves them from room to room. He loves to snuggle up against foster dogmom to sleep. Peanut’s foster home has 4 other dogs and he gets along well with all of them. He started playing with them once he got to know them. But he would be equally happy—maybe happier—as an only dog as all the attention would go to him. He likes the occasional squeaky or crunchy toy. Peanut needs a back yard to run around in several times a day. Between this and his barking at strangers, he would not be a good apartment dog. He needs to be in a home with a secure fence. Additionally, he needs a home with one or two adults (seniors would be ideal) and no children. Peanut’s adoption fee is $275 and includes neuter, all shots & microchip. He is heartworm-negative and on heartworm medication. Note: We always respond first to inquiries that tell us something about your living situation (house, apartment, single, family, etc.) and why you want this dog. Be sure to include your phone number in your inquiry. We call inquiries that seem to be a good fit for the dog.

Story
Willoughby is an 11 year old, 10 lb Chihuahua mix, and we think he may be part Miniature Pinscher. This senior fellow was living a perfectly happy life until his beloved person became ill and could no longer care for him. Humane Tomorrow promised that we would find another great home for him. Foster mom calls him Willy for short, and she says that he is a little cuddle bug. He would love nothing more than to lay in your lap and get lots of petting. He also likes to chew on his little toy, but that's about the extent of his playing. Willy has been through a big change in his life, so he is a little shy at first and may take a little time to warm up and trust. Once he does, he just wants love. He is housetrained and well behaved. If you would like to give Willy a second chance, please submit your application at www.humanetomorrow.org, and one of our adoption counselors will contact you.

Well, with me, every day is filled with laughter, love, and endless tail wags. I promise, you won't find a funnier sidekick than me!July 6, 2025, 9:13 pm

I'm Odin, the goofball extraordinaire! So, I ended up here at the shelter due to a hilarious misunderstanding. You see, I have this thing for chasing squirrels. One day, I chased one right through an open door... into a yoga class! Imagine, a room full of people in downward dog and here I am, tail wagging, ready to play! They were surprised, to say the least. But hey, at least I made everyone's day more exciting! Now, why should you adopt me? Well, besides my undeniable charm and knack for adventure, I'm also super friendly and playful. I promise to fill your days with laughter and joy. Let's make some fun memories together!July 14, 2025, 8:36 am
