Story
Meet Romeo 16yr old ; Senior Chihuahua Looking for a Loving Home Romeo is a 16-year-old Chihuahua with a big heart and a lifetime of love to give. He loves cuddles, soaking up the sun, and being close to the people he adores. He shared his life with his longtime buddy, Monty, and hasn’t done well with other dogs since, so he needs to be an only dog. Romeo is a senior & he has no teeth and needs soft food, and he doesnt hear well but his spunky, loving spirit is still strong. I wish I could keep him, but I can’t take him with me. He needs a patient, gentle home where he can spend his golden years safe, cherished, and adored. If your heart has room for a tiny soul with so much love to give, Romeo would be forever grateful.

Henri is being rehomed because his owner has to go into assisted living. We are unable to meet his needs. He spent most of his life living with a retired couple that was able to dote on him. He would make a great companion for someone that works from or is retired. He gets along great with my dog. He doesn't seem to chase cats but I've never seen him with one. He never had a problem with my kids when the were little.

Story
This is Pip. I love this dog, but life circumstances mean that I can no longer care for him. It breaks my heart. I'm hoping Pip can find a loving home for him (and Ideally his brother-in-paw) to live out the rest of his days. Pip is 9, so he still has a lot of life left in him. The good is that he's the best cuddler ever, he's very caring and sweet. He loves to play and frankly would benefit from more exercise and attention than I've been able to provide for him. Unfortunately, Pip is a kind of rescue and has some baggage from his earlier life. In particular he is very anxious, (especially towards men) and has been on a years long journey to improve his barking and nipping. In addition, his front right leg has a limp from a previous injury that never healed quite right. He still maintains a happy life, but he's especially neurotic when his leg is agitated. Pip has been a very kind loving soul in my life. I deeply regret that I have to let him go, he deserves the best.

What my friends at OHS say about me:I have been working with the Behavior team at OHS and I'm looking for a special home. It will take time and patience to get to know me. Click the "meet me" button to start the process and schedule an appointment. To learn more about my specific needs, please read my What to Expect handout.Shy and Nervous: I can be worried about new people, new surroundings and touch. I prefer to take things at my own pace and will need to live in a calm environment.I am a sweet and sensitive boy who takes a little time to build trust and make friends.I like to make my way through life at a slower pace: short walks, lots of naps, and savoring tasty food.I'm a petite guy but pack a ton of personality into this small package!I am still learning how to walk on leash, especially in new environments that can be overwhelming. I need verbal encouragement, patience and of course treats from you to help me!The type of home I'm looking for:I will need to meet any canine companions prior to getting adopted.I may do best with an owner who has had experience owning or caring for shy and fearful dogs.I need to go to an adult only home.It could be with you! Story
**Please note this pet is currently out of town pet but we will transport this pet to OR for you when adopted. All fees listed include transport fees.** Meet Widget Widget is a 12-year-old, 10 pound male Chihuahua mix with the heart of a true gentleman. He recently lost his home when his owner could no longer care for him, and now he’s hoping to find a soft place to land for his golden years. Easygoing and laid back, Widget is a sweet little lapdog who enjoys being petted and spending quiet time with his people. He gets along well with other dogs and has been lovingly pampered and well cared for his entire life. His experience with cats is unknown. Widget has a history of allergies and has tried several treatments over the years. His current diet—avoiding chicken and beef—has made a big difference, and his skin is now healthy and pink instead of itchy. He does have occasional seizures and is on medication to manage them. Widget would thrive in a calm, loving home where he can relax, feel safe, and enjoy plenty of affection. If you’re looking to open your heart to a sweet senior who still has so much love to give, Widget may be the perfect companion. Interested in becoming a forever home for Widget? Fill out our online adoption application: http://www.friendswithfourpaws.org/adoption-form.html This is the first step in our process, and we don't go any further without an application. Find more adoptable pets, news and information on Instagram @friendswithfourpaws or our Facebook page Friends with Four Paws . We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions to find our babies the best fit home for them and you. Please do not submit an application if you are not serious about adopting. We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and appreciate you working with us.For immediate consideration, please attach your application to the initial inquiry to help us expedite the process. Our adoption fee is $525. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention and travel expenses. All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public in Oklahoma. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed. Thank you in advance for your patience with our process and for making adoption YOUR option!
