Aberdeen Scottish Terrier Rescue is a registered 501(c)3 Web Site: www.aberdeenstr.com ***MUST SUBMIT APPLICATION before we will respond to email or phone inquiries. Thank You for your cooperation*** Please read listings fully to the end before applying for one of our beloved rescues. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER; WE ARE AN ALL-VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS. Please do not contact us to look at a dog. We will contact you once we have reviewed your completed application if we think your home might be a good fit. A reference check, phone interview, and home visit will be completed before meeting an adoptable dog. We work quickly. Please do not submit an application until you are ready to bring a new furry family member home. Expect your references to be contacted shortly after submitting your application. We adopt out to homes around the US and Canada, but require that you are present for the meet and greet in Newcastle, WA. Our adoption fee is non-negotiable. The adoption fee is due on the day of adoption in the form of a check, Chase Quick Pay via Zelle, PayPal, or cash. Poor innocent, sweet & forgotten about Gapy, was ready to be euthanized in a death camp of a scary shelter in CA. He had zero public interest & zero rescue interest on social media. An email went out for help & this beautiful boy was on that list. Yes, it appears at the age of 3 he was going to die which is absolutely unacceptable. We rescued this beautiful boy & 2 other sweet baby dolls out of that same kill shelter from that very same kill list all at once. That day was 1 very sad & joyous day all at the same time. Gapy who is now looking for his very own forever home who will never give up on him again & love him just as his foster mum & we do. After we got Gapy all his care with his amazing foster mum he will be bought back to WA state from CA where he can’t wait to find his loving forever home. We truly believe that Gapy was originally someone’s dog & they just did not want him anymore from his mannerisms & his behavior of knowing certain things. All this boy wants is to be loved & have a home to call his own. Disturbing to think no one wanted him & he was ready to die. The level of absolute madness here is so deeply sad for many of these beautiful souls out of CA kill shelters. When we got him out of the shelter his nails were so extremely long & his nails were clipped by our vets but will need to be & regularly dremeled to get them to a good place. Gapy at times can have a big personality & knows what he wants. He isn’t the biggest cuddler but enjoys being patted & being loved. He is a independent little man. That being said, Gapy is a good eater, he loves to eat & he is making up for lost time & put on weight instantly in his foster home. Gapy’s new forever home must have a fully fenced secured backyard. He also enjoys sunning himself in the backyard & also sitting on the couch & looking out the window, he really enjoys taking in the sites. But he will also do his own thing. Gapy has been great with his baths because he started having them with us the moment he was rescued so he is used to them. Gapy rides beautifully in the car & enjoys a good journey & still needs continued work walking on his harness & leash. But has done amazing in his foster home. We are looking for a forever home for Gapy where someone is home during the day or he can go with his people wherever possibly he can go with them & there must be another dog in the home for him to thrive. Gapy loves other dogs & needs another dog in the home to play with. This is mandatory for his new home. This boy enjoys going into a crate sometimes so that tells us that someone used to call him to go into a crate. In his foster home he sleeps in the bed with his foster mum or will sleep on the dog bed. Gapy is looking for a forever home who will cherish him & love him as he should be loved & be patient with him. Gapy has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes & he is currently with other dogs & was fostered in CA with other dogs & does well with them & enjoys their company. It’s mandatory for him to be in a home with a playful dog. Gapy is roughly just over 3 years old & 21 lbs & is perhaps a dachshund & chihuahua mix, (chiweenie), male. He had a dental & polish & we got him neutered. Gapy is, microchipped, heart worm negative, given flea treatment, up to date on his shots, including DHLPP, Bordatella, CIV, rabies & dewormed. We have spent far more on Gapy, with all of his medical care getting him well thank his adoption fee comes close to covering with, neuter, paying his shelter fee to get him out of the shelter, shots, flea meds, dewormer, boarding, dental scale & polish etc. Gapy has been around cats since being in the rescue & did well with the cat in his foster home but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together. Just because he got along fine with the cat in the foster home doesn’t mean he will get along with all cats. We have not had him around small children so we do not recommend small children & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children. We were not there when Gapy was conceived so we do not know who his parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think his breed is. As with all of our rescues & Gapy’s friends he will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Gapy potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond. We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying. Gapy has been through many traumas in his short time on this earth so when applying this needs to be kept in mind & for his care. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Gapy & going through our process and have read his listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on & remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a virtual home visit due to covid & followed by a meet and greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Gapy who understands his needs & that meet all the requirements for this spirited little chap. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately. Gapy has an adoption fee of $895 & is ready for his truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what he has been through.

Story
Adorable little Daisy is just a bit over 18mo and she weighs 12lbs. She is a very sweet girl that can be a little shy when first meeting new people. She is very food motivated so with just a treat or two she quickly opens up to become your best friend. She loves to go on walks and explore, so this is another great, bonding exercise. Daisy enjoys running and playing with dogs her own size so another dog in the home would be ideal, but it’s not required. She must at least have periodic play dates. She is a quiet girl that is fully house trained and crate trained so she can be left home alone for a reasonable amount of hours. She has not been socialized with toddlers and they make her a little nervous so kids must be over 12yrs old. A fenced yard would be best.

Story
Hola from Señor Peanut! This little ball of energy was abandoned on the side of the road in rural Missouri where we rescued him during our move to Washington! This little guy loves everyone he meets and just wants to sit with you while you both watch TV. He is a little anxious from his previous life but over the last year has shown to be a loving and sweet boy! He needs a home that is willing to take the time to make sure he is able to go outside often to maintain his potty training. (He is potty trained but this was a major accomplishment from when we first rescued him) The only reason we are rehoming him is that we knew we were just a foster home for him to recover in until he found his forever family!

Story
Meet a timid lady Bombom🩷(bom 봄 means spring in Korean) Even though she is still wary of people, she is getting better little by little. Bombom is learning to get adapted to spending time with her foster and foster family inside the house. She has not tried to walk outside yet. *Separation anxiety: A home camera was installed in the house to see Bombom when the foster family went outside, and Bombom she was waiting and missing her foster family. *Potty-training: Bombom mostly stays indoors and can perfectly go in the center of the potty pad!💯 * Energy Level (1~10): Level 2 * Socialization -People: Curious about people but still scared. When her fam approach her, she tends to step backward. Still gets nervous and flinches when someone tries to touch her but doesn’t move away from her spot. She’ll take treats if her family is holding them. Once in a while, she approaches her foster and the family first! She can get nervous and tremble if she makes eye contact with human strangers. She moves away when someone suddenly comes at her. -Dogs: She gets along with the foster's dog. *She's still scared of Bombom’s surroundings and everything in the world. To protect herself, she “growls” but doesn’t show other aggressive behavior. When Bombom learns to build up trusting relationships with people and there are more enjoyable things than scary things in the world, it will be a great help for her to adapt to a new environment! *Bark: Doesn’t bark at all. *Is possible to bathe her but Bombom is still scared and uncomfortable with bathing and tries to move away.

The adoption fee is due on the day of adoption in the form of a check, Zelle, or cash. We no longer accept PayPal because of the percentage they take & their fees. But if the potential adopter is willing to pay them we will accept PayPal. The call was put out for the need from a commercial breeder who needed some dogs gone, at a cost of course in the middle of nowhere. Of course they always want money for the dogs & of course once we know about them we are not leaving them & do what we have to do to help them. But despite where they lived in a shed & were going to be used to make money off their backs, they were still very sweet & friendly. But Kiwi, he was so lovely & grateful to get the hell out of the cage he was caged in 24/7. His life was instantly changing in that moment & only for the better. On this day we rescued Kiwi & his siblings & friends, 10 other innocent souls who would have spent their lives being breeding machines in cages all to make money off their backs. Now the real healing, love & devotion could begin & show Kiwi how he is supposed to be loved & adored in a loving forever home just as he is in his foster home. Kiwi & his friends were bought back to the WA state where he is now so happy to be here & can’t wait to find his new loving devoted forever home. Kiwi lets you pick him up & lets you give him kisses & hugs & enjoys it. This is Kiwi first experience at being in a home, with a tv, bedding he can snuggle up in, a roof over his head that’s not outside. His foster mum said Kiwi is oh so very sweet, playful, & such a good boy. He loves his foster family very much. He is your typical lovable puppy who eats, plays, sleeps eats & poops & the cycle continues. He is just like his brother. He adores comfy beds & big comfy blankets because again the reality is, this is something he did not get to experience ever until he was rescued. He is such a fun puppy who just wants to be loved & to make up for his past once you have built that repour with him. He would still need work walking on his harness & leash because the reality is this is all new to him. He does not discriminate against breeds. He has always been with other dogs & he adores other dogs & they make him feel comfortable & confident. Kiwi rides in the car well & considering the only times we know of was when he went to be sold & when we got him & going home with his foster family & to & from the vets. But now he goes on many outings with his wonderful foster home & his sibling Chippy. He had even gone out on a boat several times & has a little life jacket his foster family bought for him. We are looking for a crate free home for this little lad only. He spent his first part of his life confined for potential breeding. We are also looking for a forever home for Kiwi where someone is home during the day or he can go with his people wherever possibly he can go with them. When they find someone who treats them as they should be treated & loves them they get so attached to them. Kiwi has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes in the rescue & in his foster home & he is currently with his sibling & another dog in his foster home & adores other dogs. He absolutely must go to a forever home with a dog or dog’s present in the home. Please do not apply saying your neighbors have a dog or family members or you will take her to places where there are other dogs. That will not work, another dog or dogs is mandatory along with a fully fenced backyard. Kiwi is roughly 4.4 lbs & he is 14 weeks old & possibly a ‭Pomeranian/teddy mix‬. He has put on weight since being in his loving foster home. What he is mixed with we are not sure, male, he will be neutered by laser by our wonderful vets, microchipped, receive his last shots, including DHLPP, Bordatella, rabies & dewormed all under contract with ASTR by 6 months of age. We have spent far more on Kiwi with paying for him from a commercial breeder. Bringing him to WA with his travel/flight costs, his transportation to WA. All of his medical care in WA etc & bringing him to WA then his adoption fee comes close to covering. His adoption fee does not even cover half of what we have spent on Kiwi. Kiwi has not been around cats since being in the rescue, but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together & we have him around small children in his foster home & he does amazing but we do not recommend small children nor cats though & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children & cats. The call was put out for the need from a commercial breeder with health problems who needed her breeding dogs gone, at a cost of course in the middle of nowhere in South Dakota. Of course they always want money for the dogs & of course once we know about them we cannot walk away & leave them there. The house was a run down shack where Johnny Rose & his other breeding friends were living was deplorable. They all stank so badly you wanted to vomit with the smell up to 2 weeks later. We believe it was the smell of the nastiest food coming out of their pores. Non of us could get rid of the smell off them until they had been on our food for roughly 14 days. They were matted, had very long curled nails & were dirty & some even had raging skin infections & raging UTI’s. Not to mention several were pregnant. But despite where they lived & were used to make money off their backs, they were still very sweet & friendly. But Johnny Rose, he was still so playful & so lovely & grateful to get the hell out of the shack he was caged in 24/7 living his life outside in the stinking heat day after day then in the freezing cold in winter time in the shack was over. His life was instantly changing in that moment & only for the better. On this day we rescued a total of 8 breeding poms & shi tzu mum & dads who all they knew was to breed in a life of hell & then being sold. Now the real healing, love & devotion could begin & show Johnny Rose how he is supposed to be loved & adored in a loving forever home. Johnny Rose & his friends were bought back to the WA state where he is now is so happy to be here & can’t wait to find his new loving devoted forever home. Another sweetheart of a fun loving soul. The horror he endured on his little body & mind all to make money off his back is so disgusting. After everything he has been through he is still so fun & oh so spirited. He is beyond grateful to get out of that hell hole he was in & radiates gratitude. Johnny Rose’s foster mum said he is a cheeky little bugger, he wants her attention sometimes & can be demanding but he is so very spirited & loves his dog friends. He lets you pick him up & lets you give him kisses & hugs. The reality is, the foster homes are his real first experience at being in a home, with a tv, bedding he can snuggle up in, a roof over his head that’s not outside. At first with his food in his foster home he wasn’t motivated, probably because he was so confused with his new life & was so used to eating the cheapest grade food. But once he got a taste of the homemade food, it was all over & he woofed it down. He is such a good boy & he gets comfortable & he is so easy & so sweet. He deserves the very best home. His foster mum said he taught himself to go up & down the stairs. Fun, fun fun is a great way to describe his personality. He is good with his baths & being dried by the hairdryer but wonders what is happening? He adores comfy beds & big comfy blankets because again the reality is, this is something he did not get to experience ever until he was rescued. He is such a lovely little lad who just wants to be loved & to make up for his past. He would still need work walking on his harness & leash but since being with us he has learnt so quickly & enjoys going on walks but it’s all completely new to him considering he was never ever taught until coming into the rescue. He does not discriminate against breeds. He adores going outside & having a wander around & sitting in the backyard. He has always been with other dogs & adores other dogs & must have other dog friends in the home. Johnny Rose rides beautifully in the car & considering the only times we know of was when he went to auction to be sold & when we got him & going home with his foster family’s & back & forth to the vets & now on his adventures, he has done so amazing in the car. We are looking for a crate free home for this little lad only. He spent his whole life confined for breeding. Johnny Rose as you can imagine spent such a long time in a caged environment. We are also looking for a forever home for Johnny Rose where someone is home during the day or he can go with his people wherever possibly he can go with them. When they find someone who treats them as they should be treated & loves them they get so attached to them. Johnny Rose is looking for a forever home who will cherish him & love him as he should be loved & be patient with him & never give up on him. We have spent over $3000 on Johnny Rose. Johnny Rose has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes in the rescue & in his foster homes & he is currently with other dogs & adores other dogs, so he must go to a home with other dogs present in the home. A fully fenced backyard is mandatory in a house. Parti is roughly 10 lbs & he is 3 years old. He has put on weight since being in his foster homes. He is a pomeranian, what he is mixed with we are not sure, male, he is neutered by laser by our wonderful vets. He is microchipped, he had a dental scale & polish along with dental x-rays. He is up to date on his shots, including DHLPP, Bordatella, CIV, rabies & dewormed. We have spent far more on Johnny Rose with paying for him from a commercial breeder in South Dakota. Bringing him to WA with his travel/flight costs, his transportation to WA. All of his medical care, in WA etc & bringing him to WA than his adoption fee comes close to covering. His adoption fee does not even cover half of what we have spent on Johnny Rose. Johnny Rose has not been around cats since being in the rescue, but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together & we have not had him around small children so we do not recommend small children nor cats though & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children & cats. We were not there when Johnny Rose was conceived so we do not know who her parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think his breed is. As with all of our rescues & Johnny Rose’s friends he will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Johnny Rose potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond. We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Johnny Rose & going through our process and have read his listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on. Or you waste this rescues time, will remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a virtual home visit via WebEx or Zoom due to covid & followed by a meet & greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Johnny Rose who understands his needs & that meet all the requirements for this special sweet little lad. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately. Johnny Rose has an adoption fee of $1250 & is ready for his truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what he has been through.
