Story
Hello! My name is Bantay. That means 'guardian' in Tagalog. I am an 3 month old, neutered, Border Collie mix. I may grow up to be anywhere from 65-80lbs as an adult. I hope to find a family to love and care for. I am an energetic, playful and friendly guy that is ready to go to my forever home. I'm hoping for a family that's prepared to help me work on my manners and continue my training/socialization. Like any young pup, I need plenty of exercise, playtime and love. I'm excited to learn but the world is so big! Because I'm still learning to share, I prefer adult only households or ones with older kids (10+). With patience, positive reinforcement and plenty of love, I'll be sure to make a fun and loyal companion and bring some sunshine into your life! Please bring along the entire family including any resident dogs to meet me before taking me home with you. I can't wait to meet you! Ask for me- Bantay ID#A0991294.Unless otherwise indicated, adoptable animals are located at our Lantos Center for Compassion at 1450 Rollins Road, Burlingame, CA 94010.  You may call us at 650-340-7022 to schedule an appointment, or just drop by. Drop-In hours for Same Day Adoptions are 11 am – 5 pm, 7 days a week (closed major holidays). We do our best to update our listings regularly, but we can’t guarantee every animal you see is still available. It’s also typical for us to have animals who haven’t had their photos taken yet, so you are welcome to visit our adoption center and have a look around! To check on an animal's adoption status, please call 650-340-7022 during normal business hours to speak with an adoption counselor. Emails will be returned as soon as possible, but please allow up to 48 hours during busy adoption periods like weekends.August 10, 2026, 8:47 pm

Sweet Hua Juan is looking for her forever home still! She might be a border collie mix! Love her color and spots on her coat! She's opened up a lot compared to when she first arrived in the states beginning of this year. She weights about 20lbs. Walks fairly well on leash although noises on the street still scares her a bit. She does well with dogs of all sizes! She does well with ppl and kids.

Story
Like most Border Collies, Confetti Sunset is innately wise and instinctively helpful. Her beauty is unparalleled and her emotional intelligence is worthy of scientific study. Kind, gentle, quietly attentive, she’s lays her freckled snout on a knee like a warm compress, receiving and giving comfort without a lot of fanfare. She’s a strong capable friend to other dogs and polite with all humans. A proud working dog, she also stands ready to be a loyal companion and playmate to a loving and reliable adopter. Adopt her for a lifelong master class in peace, love and understanding. Here's some notes from her foster: Confetti is totally chill. She wants to be with her human all the time, but that can be lying on her doggie bed next to me while I work. She does try to get outside anytime a door is opened, but the one time she did get out, she just stood there. She likes leisurely walks. Given her medical condition, I am taking her for multiple short (1/4 mile or so) walks per day. She is also very much into smelling everything outside. A 1/4 mile walk can take 20 minutes or more.

Story
I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Dog H:4Cassio – Wiggly, Affectionate, and Full of Charm Cassio is a 2-year-old Border Collie mix weighing 41 pounds with a delightful waggy personality and a big love for human attention. Enthusiastic buddy: Cassio may pull excitedly at the start of walks, but is easy to handle due his manageable size. He loves interacting with his human while showing off his ‘sit’, ‘down’ and ‘spin’.  Extra affectionate: It doesn’t take long for Cassio to hop up with his front paws on your legs, gazing up for attention and possibly sneaking in a quick face lick. He also loves leaning against people or stretching out across a lap for butt scratches. Playful and easygoing: Cassio can happily entertain himself with a plush toy and enjoys gentle play with other dogs in doggie playgroup. Social sweetheart: His waggy, people-loving personality shines through in nearly every interaction, making him a fun and affectionate companion. Cassio would do best with appropriately matched dogs or as a solo dog with dog friends outside the home. August 11, 2026, 10:29 am

Story
Milo is a beautiful 42 lb border collie mix. Typical for a herding type dog, Milo has a lot of energy and is very intelligent. His foster family describes him as very sweet, goofy, active, and energetic. Milo loves to play games of all kinds, and especially loves playing fetch. Milo is crate trained, house trained, and walks well on leash. He is friendly with other dogs. He has not been cat tested. With his foster family, Milo does well with 2-4 hours of exercise daily. Typical for his breed type, Milo has shown some herding behaviors and can sometimes be protective of his space, his people, and his things. For these reasons, Milo would do best in a home without small children. Milo needs a family that can provide him with plenty of daily mental and physical stimulation. Herding breed experience or experience with other high drive dogs is strongly encouraged.

Story
Kora’s Quick-Reference Profile Daily Routine: She likes her meals right on time—1 to 1.5 cups at 7:30 AM and 5:00 PM. She takes care of business in the morning, occasionally in the afternoon, and wraps up with an evening stroll. She’s a fan of open-door crate naps but prefers not to be left alone for more than an hour or so. Leash & Training: Clicker trained with hella good leash manners. She completely ignores reactive dogs but gets a little jumpy/excited for friendly ones (treats easily redirect her). Commands: Sit, Wait, Shake, Ok, Leave it, Come, and Down (still a work in progress). Vibe & Socialization: She plays it cool and shy with new faces, but is bold and loving with her inner circle. Great with kids, adults, other dogs, and does well with most cats. Favorite Things: Puppsicles, tug-of-war (especially with her tug-soccer ball), belly rubs, ear scratches, and sleeping on her bed in her human's room. Kora's Backstory: The "Tortured Poets Department" Era Let's set the scene: the Central Valley. Fresno, to be exact. It’s hot, it’s unforgiving, and out there, fending for herself, was Kora—hella pregnant with not one, but ten puppies. She was basically a walking clown car of babies, exhausted, hungry, and doing whatever it took to keep them safe on the streets. When our finder finally got her, she was so absolutely terrified of humans that she pulled a full-on Houdini during her ground transport. She busted loose and hid in a field, literally choosing the wild over trusting us. Trust falls were definitely not on her bingo card at that moment. But we didn't give up. She was eventually secured and got a private flight out of Fresno straight to San Carlos. Since February, she’s been pouring every ounce of her soul into raising the Airbender litter. Now that her ten little terrors have grown up, this resilient mama is officially retiring from the streets and the maternity ward. She survived the worst so she could give them the best, and now it's her turn.
