Story
Hua Juan is ready to find her forever home! She's appx 1.5yrs old, weights about 28lbs, medium size! She has beatiful interesting markings throughout her coat. She's a sweet pup but still a bit timid to start. She has made great progress and plays well with other dogs. She walks pretty well on leash but loud/sudden noises do spook her still. She will need more time to build up the confidence. She would do well with another dog at home to help her learn quickly and adjusts quicker. She is healthy, spayed, microchipped and vaccinated.

Story
Rocco is a 7 years old healthy, happy and strong dog. He's 50 lbs mixed breed, very fit, all vaccines up to date. We adopted him in 2017 from a shelter in Santa Cruz when he was a puppy. Now, after we got our second kid we are a bit overwhelmed and Rocco does not get the attention he was used to. This makes him and us unhappy. We are therefore looking for a person or family willing to adopt him. He's very friendly with people, not with other dogs, so he should be the only pet in the house. The ideal adopter should be someone who has already experience owning other dogs before. Rocco can stay at home alone the whole day, or in the car waiting for you doing grocery without any issue. He follows a few basic cues/prompts; he loves to travel by car; VERY food motivated, he loves cuddles, fetching balls and playing tug of war. He gets very affectionate with the owner and the whole family. We are not asking for money, we'd like to find the right fit for him. Let us know if you are interested.

Story
Harley is a 7 month old, Border Collie/Great Pyrenees/German Shepherd mix. We got her at 12 months from a shelter in Sonoma where her mom was a rescue. She has attended Puppy Day School, group classes, puppy socials, a 6-week board and train program, among other trainings. She knows commands (mostly hand cues more than verbal) like sit, stay, leave it, heel, come, down, spin, fetch, crate, free. She LOVES other dogs and is a great running partner. Harley is fearful of people and loud sounds. She takes a long time to warm up to people and is fearful of strangers and will bark if they come towards her. We live in the city with no dog areas nearby and no yard for her to play in. Walks to go potty was hard when there were people nearby which is the cause of recurrent UTIs when she was younger. She is not spayed yet due to our vet's recommendation to wait until after her 1st heat. She would thrive in a home in the calm suburbs with a yard and another older/confident dog.

Story
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption Fee: $700   Riley is an 8 week old Border Collie mix who is ready to bring adventure and excitement to you! Riley was rescued from the shelter with her brother, Raleigh. Riley may have a past that eludes us, but we know her future will be amazing! Riley will be looking for a home separate from her brother as we do not place siblings together. We expect Riley to be in the medium size range when she reaches her adult weight. If you are looking for a cuddly and adorable new best friend, you’ve found that in Riley!    Riley is an affectionate puppy who adores her people and loves showing off for them! She calls the shots when she plays with her brother and loves playing for hours at a time. Riley is also the first to zoom over to her people when she is called so she can get her cuddles in! She will loyally follow you to the ends of the Earth (or to the fridge for a snack). Riley is a cuddle monster and will make herself right at home in your lap. Things to do? Not anymore! Riley has gorgeous green eyes that she bats at you to make you swoon. Riley is a great blend of energy, energetic but not too much. Just like any good puppy, she needs lots of naps. Riley has a determined spirit that gives her the ability to always see the best in the world. Riley can’t wait to find her people and get her fabulous life started!  Riley starts her morning with a wriggling body and a wagging tail as she zooms right outside for a potty trip. Once she trots back inside, she is ready to give puppy kisses as she gets her day started. Riley gets breakfast at 7 AM and then spends some time playing with her brother as her foster family gets ready for the day. The rest of her morning is spent napping and tanning in the sun. Riley spends her afternoons eating snacks and hanging out in the shade, getting her zoomies out with her brother and their endless pile of toys. Riley loves cuddling and will clamber onto a lap whenever one is available. She has dinner at 5 PM and then relaxes and plays on a loop for the rest of the evening. When she’s ready for bed, she heads into her crate with her brother.  Riley adores other dogs and would love a canine sibling in her forever home to play with. She is fabulous with the kiddos in her foster home but will need continued training as she ages. Riley will thrive in puppy school as she continues to grow up and see more of the world. This gal can’t wait to make your life complete!    Riley is an option for those who have owned a dog in the last 5 years. Kids in the home should be over the age of 7.June 24, 2024, 11:26 pm

Earl was rescued from the local shelter as part of a hoarding situation. Animal Control stepped in to remove the dogs from a bad situation and then sent up the paw signal for rescue assistance. We jumped into action and grabbed as many dogs as we could, giving them a well-deserved freedom ride! Earl Grey has a fabulous coat with unique markings that any Border Collie lover will adore. Ready for the cutest cup of tea you’ve ever seen? Adopt Earl Grey!    Earl Grey is a loving and handsome gentleman looking for his tea party companions. He is very mellow compared to the expectations for his breed, but he loves his daily romps around the neighborhood. He is very smart and learned “sit” and “paw” within days of arriving at his foster home. Earl Grey has started figuring out the joy of toys and now happily joins his foster parents in a game of fetch. He loves his backyard and would be a fantastic gardening assistant, as long as you give him some crunchy snacks! Earl Grey also loves snuggling on the couch and would be an amazing addition to any movie night. Plus, he’s already providing the refreshments, so what else could you ask for? Earl Grey would love a forever home ready for a perfect tea blend of adventures and snuggles. As long as you brew up love and snuggles, Earl Grey will be your loyal companion for life. For those who love the unconditional adoration the Collie breeds have in unlimited amounts, you’ll be thrilled with our Earl. His foster says he is her favorite dog she has welcomed into her home by far, which is the highest praise from our awesome fosters.  Earl Grey starts his morning around 8 AM with a walk around the block. He trots back inside for his morning meal which he eagerly chomps up. During the day, Earl Grey hangs out in the sun-room, getting his tan on. He would love to have an afternoon tea party in his forever home, where he can get some of his playtime on. He also spends a lot of time romping around the backyard, getting all his sniffs out as he checks out his domain. He gets another walk at 5 PM as the weather starts to cool down and he happily greets all his neighborhood canine pals. After his evening walk, Earl Grey has dinner as his foster family unwinds from their day. He then hangs out in the backyard with his toys until he hops up on the couch for snuggles. After one last potty break, Earl Grey heads to bed. Earl Grey has lived with dogs of all ages and sizes and gets along well with them all. He walks very well on a leash and adores his outside adventures. He politely greets everyone he comes across, from humans to dogs alike. Earl is house trained and currently sleeps on a soft dog bed in the living room. Earl Grey has so much love to give and he can’t wait to find his forever home that will allow him to express it. What more are you waiting for? Step right up to the counter and order a cup of Earl Grey today!    Earl Grey is an option for any home, regardless of prior dog owning experience. He would be a fabulous “starter” dog for a new family. Kids in the home should be over the age of 7.June 24, 2024, 11:26 pm
