Story
5 Years 65 lbs Fostered in Illinois Fenced yard required If you’re dreaming of a perfect dog, your search is over! Meet Archie, a five-year-old smooth collie that’s as perfect as it can get. Sweet, friendly, easy going, obedient and playful! What more can you ask for? Archie’s foster home says he’s a wonderful family dog. When left alone, he gets free rein of the house, is not destructive, and happily sleeps on the comfy couch. He is fully housebroken. He knows some commands such as come, sit, down and shake; he even walks well on a leash. Archie loves people and any attention you can give. He’s a little reserved at first when meeting new people but quickly warms up and will soak up all the attention. He loves cuddles and butt scratches and will repay you with little collie kisses. Like most collies, this boy is sensitive and might startle when exposed to sudden and unexpected sounds, but he recovers quickly. Archie used to live with children and is currently fostered with a respectful 9-year-old boy. He is getting along well with other dogs and likes to play with them. A fenced in yard would be desirable as Archie enjoys being outside in the backyard with his family, running around freely, playing fetch, and exploring the yard. Archie’s ideal home would be a semi-active family with respectful children, but he would also be fine with a calm family that would allow him to chill on the couch after some playtime and cuddles. If this isn’t enough collie perfection for you, Archie’s gentle manners and winning personality are complemented by his smooth coated collie good looks. Are you the perfect match for this sweet boy?

Story
Available 6 Years 84 lbs Fostered in Illinois Fenced yard required Meet George – a gentle soul waiting for a second chance. George is a tall, beautiful Collie with the heart of a teddy bear and eyes full of stories. At first glance, he may seem shy or uncertain—but give him time, and you’ll discover a loyal companion who will quietly nuzzle your hand or follow you from room to room, just happy to be near you. George has had a rough start in life. Coming from a backyard breeder where he lived outside alone and was frightened by harsh treatment, he’s still learning to trust. The world is a big, unfamiliar place to him—but he’s making brave steps forward every day. His crate is his safe haven, and he sleeps through the night like a champ. He’s not the kind of dog who will jump into your lap right away—but when he kisses your hand or gently leans against you, it means everything. George loves toys (every day is like Christmas!), and watching him discover the joy of play is a gift in itself. He would do best in a calm home with adults or older, respectful children, and ideally a confident dog friend to show him the ropes. George startles easily—reflections, noises, even passing cars can make him nervous—and he still barks at anything new or loud outside. He’s especially cautious around men, but with patience, he warms up. George is crate-trained, rides quietly in the car (you may need to lift him in), and is food-motivated-never turning down a treat. He’s not yet used to stairs or leash-walking, and grooming is a work in progress, but he’s smart and eager to please. With time, love, and a gentle hand, George will blossom into the devoted companion he was always meant to be. If you’re the kind of person who understands that healing takes time and love, George will be forever grateful. He’s looking for someone who doesn’t need perfection—just a best friend to grow with. George isn’t perfect—but he’s perfectly worth it.

Looking for a fun-loving bundle of fluff? Puppy might be your perfect match!About 2-years-old, this chow/collie/golden retriever mix is a charming boy who loves a squeaky toy and a romp with his canine friends. Puppy is always ready to bring a smile to your face. Now let’s talk about treats, Puppy is a big fan (I mean who isn’t?) and will be sure to win you over with his adorable `please give me a snack` eyes. It takes Puppy a little time to really trust the humans in his house but patience & a pocket full of treats will definitely help.Puppy would love for his forever home to have a fenced in yard and a canine buddy though he does like a nice walk and is working on his leash manners. If you’re looking for a sweet and playful friend, Puppy might be the one for you.
